Our Savior Lutheran School is such a thriving place! As a PreKĀ8th grade school, it offers a welcoming, family-like community where students are truly known and cared for.
OSLS has a strong focus on Christ, academics, and community. The school offers small class sizes, dedicated teachers, beautiful facilities, and a brand-new playground that the students love.
I would definitely recommend OSLS to any family looking for a school with strong academics, a Christ-centered environment, and a close-knit community. It is a very special place!

We have been so blessed by Our Savior! The teachers and administration care about and know each child. It is small enough that everyone knows each other but large enough that they offer activities. The preschool program is incredible with caring and kind teachers.

Our Savior is a blessing to our family. My 4 year old can't wait to go to school every day and I know she's in great hands. Our savior was her 1st school experience and it couldn't have gone better. I owe it to the teachers and staff there. It's a great school and community to be a part of.

OSLS has been such a blessing to my Family. The Teachers and Staff make everyone feel right at home. Coming back to Louisville all the way from Arizona my very shy 6yr old came home from her first day of 1st grade at OSL all smiles telling me she couldn't wait for the next day. Just in this short time she has been attending I can see such a difference in her work it's amazing. Thank you OSLS for inviting us in to your family with open arms we are so blessed with you all!

Our Savior Lutheran school is much more than a school, it's a family. Students in upper grades interact with students in the lower grades. There is a constant reminder to students that they are an example to younger students as well as an example of our school. This helps foster a pride for the school and for themselves as they progress.
The music program is outstanding, the technology classes are offered to even the preschool students, and the overall attention to each student's individual success are just a few of the reasons this school is great!

I am proud. Proud of this school and proud of who my children are/have become. Our Savior is/has been a great foundation both educationally and spiritually for my children. My children strive to do their best in all they do and have generous hearts. My son, who is now in high school, is respected as a member of society, not "just a teenager". I attribute much of this to their years at OSLS. The faculty and staff are respectful and compassionate and it resonates through the children. My daughter has been excited about school this year because of her teacher and cannot wait to see what the next day will bring. We are blessed to have found Our Savior Lutheran.

We have two children at Our Savior and a third that will start next year. We moved farther away from the school two years ago and tried the public school in our area. We re-enrolled in Our Savior as soon as we could; we missed it so much and realized that it is a very special school that has high academic standards while providing a loving, family environment. The teachers and staff know our whole family and even grandparents by name. Our Savior Lutheran School is truly a gift.

We've had 2 children at OSLS for 5 years now and the experience has been great. A peaceful Christian environment that has great kids and teachers. The school is challenging but fair and it graduates kids ahead of the curve. Our kids have enjoyed soccer and basketball and also mentoring the younger children through the chapel buddy program.

Homework varies by grade and is dependent on how diligent your child works during the day
Posted: September 14, 2017
The teachers are fantastic and one of the best aspects of the school.
Posted: September 14, 2017
I love feeling like this is a family oriented school. They go out of their way to work with you on everything! They don't just care about grades, they care about how the whole child is developing. When my son needed something more than what the school offered, they came up with a solution unique to only him. Love it here!

We have three kids, the oldest just moved on to high school this year and I believe Our Savior has prepared him for this new chapter in his life. Our kids enjoy this school. Our 5 year old tells me how she is excited to be going to school and she is learning so quickly. Our kids have had great experiences participating in Basketball, Archery, Volleyball and Band.
I grew up going to public schools in Ohio and never saw kids excited about learning like I see at OSLS. I see happiness in these kids faces as they find a new book in the library or when they have reached a goal they have been striving for. This is a great school producing awesome kids for our world. So please 'Come and See' , so you can see all the wonderful things I see at Our Savior.

We are new to Our Savior. My son came from a Catholic school. He was bullied at his old school. He is so much happier at Our Savior. The kids are very kind and welcoming. The parents are the same, very welcoming. The academics are very strong. He is learning a lot more than his old school. The office staff are so helpful. Highly recommend this school.

OSLS has given my daughter a wonderful foundation and have prepared her to excel in higher education. She has learned invaluable skills outside of just reading, writing, etc. Learning how to use time wisely, prioritize and organize will lead to a smooth transition to high school. OSLS fosters a true community where everyone feels they are part of something and each individual strives to help others. I would highly recommend OSLS to anyone looking for a well rounded school.

I attended Our Savior from 1991-94 during my middle school years... and now 25 years later, my children attend OSLS! As valedictorian of my 8th grade class, I was well-prepared for high school. I continued on to college and graduate school, becoming an educator myself. Three of my teachers from 25 years ago are still at Our Savior, which is a testament to the strong connections created and fostered at this institution. As a parent of two students at Our Savior, I have been pleased with their academic progress, as well as their character development. I feel happy and confident sending them to school each day knowing they are in a safe and caring environment with rigorous academic standards.

At Our Savior, you will find a Christ-based education. This permeates the school. In our first year at OSLS, our Kindergartener played basketball in after-school care with 8th graders--8th graders that were kind enough to show him the game and gently remind him of his manners! When I witnessed their compassion and willingness to play with him, I was sold!

Teachers are invested in the students and their needs. We have seen teachers modify their teaching techniques based on class size, differentiated learning paces within a class or to by the calendar year to help prep students for the expectations of the next year's teacher/classroom.
Posted: March 29, 2017
Homework at this school has the right balance of pushing students to achieve more, while not overwhelming them.
Posted: March 29, 2017
We have kids ranging from 5th grade through pre-school at Our Savior. This school has a close family atmosphere. The elementary academics gradually step students up, preparing them to be independent learners as they approach the middle school (6-8) program. Here you find students that are overall caring, inclusive and focused. Their buddy system allows older students to connect with younger students and provide solid mentoring opportunities. From home visits by teachers to start off the school year to strong reading programs with volunteer readers at the early reading stages, this school continues to meet or exceed our expectations. There is no doubt that the smaller classroom size makes a significant difference in the foundational learning our children receive vs. other school options.

Our daughter is in the middle of her kindergarten year and loves school. From her reading ability to her new interest in physics (yes, they are studying concepts like motion, density and volume), we could not be more pleased with her instruction. She has also had a lot of fun with enriching field trips and plenty of time on the playground for recess. Plus, she has computer lab instruction, time at the library and fantastic music instruction (she is already trying to write her own music). For parents, the before and after school care is very flexible and affordable. The school offers extra after school activities like sport clinics, lego groups, board game days and art classes after school that are also very affordable and a lot of fun, even for the young kindergarten students.

You give Lutherans a BAD NAME. How embarrassing when your coaches threaten other coaches in front of children. Inexcusable telling a student you will write them up for tattling when they try to notify you of a fellow classmate doing a lewd act. I can no longer recommend your institution.

We were very disappointed by the JCPS school we were attending. After the school year ended, we searching high and low for a good fit for our family. When I stumbled on Our Savior, I wondered why I had never heard of it and started more in depth research. I came across several reviews. Louisville's best kept secret kept coming up... and thought the statement was probably written by a staff member looking for enrollment... After looking at few other area schools we visited Our Savior "aka" OSLS. We had a great visit along with a home visit from the teacher before school started. This GEM of a school is "Louisville's best kept secret" for sure!!! If you are looking for a faith based education with small class sizes in a warm and caring atmosphere with top academics, you have found it! Reasonable tuition with funding backed by the church. Our family is not Lutheran or Catholic and we more than fit in here. As a matter of fact, about 50% of student body is not Lutheran. I figure if you are reading this, you are looking for a new school and I hope this review has helped in your search. You owe your children a visit to this school. :)

Our Kindergarten student struggled with reading early on, but the dedicated efforts of her teachers and the encouragement of volunteer readers (they were AWESOME!) helped her to blossom as a second grade reader. She was the first in her second grade class to earn 100 Accelerated Reader points in a quarter!

I am a parent of two boys. My oldest graduated from Our Savior last year and is now doing very well in High School. My youngest is still in elementary school at OSLS. Both my wife and I attended public school in Missouri where we grew up, so we never dreamed we would have kids in private school. We absolutely could not be happier with the quality education and Christian Foundation that are boys have received at Our Savior. Compared to other private schools, it is also more affordable. I would highly recommend this school.

I love Our Savior! Our children are getting a great, well-rounded education and feel a part of a school family that cares about them. Highly recommend!

As an alumni I know this school well. I graduated in 94 and was in 5th grade when the school was built. Some teachers there were my teachers. While principals have come and gone the Christ based education and attentiveness from teachers hasn't changed. I wouldn't send my children to any other school. I now have two that proudly attend. Christ based education is a must in this day and age. I am impressed with the curriculum and the great education! Smart boards in every class...classes are just small enough for that one on one guidance. This school is one my dad attended back before it changed locations. It has a history of having great leaders! Wonderful school all around!!

Our Savior Lutheran School is Louisville's best kept secret! The environment within the school is Christ-based, friendly, and family oriented. The teachers challenge each student to do their best, while meeting the individual needs of students. The principal makes every effort to improve the quality of the school, while listening and answering questions from parents and students. The school community includes active, involved parents who not only support the teachers and principal, but they volunteer to provide numerous opportunities for families to grow together! I'm blessed to be able to send my children to a school that values a Christian education, as well assisting in the strengthening and building of my family's traditional values!

Our Savior Lutheran School strives to "teach toward tomorrow while building families in Christ'. The veteran staff work to make learning a worthwhile journey for everyone. In this my 9th year on staff and 12th year as a parent, I know I wouldn't want my family to be any other place. 'Come and See' what we have to offer. Many parents leave referring to us as the 'best kept secret' in Louisville. Help us spread the secret.

OSLS is an excellent school! The principal knows every child by name! My child struggled at his previous school. Our Savior teachers cared about my child and helped him to become a child who actually wanted to come to school! I am so thankful for the commitment and the ministry of the school and its teachers.

Even though the class sizes are small the school is lacking a personal approach. Teachers and staff should spend time with the students not texting during the day.

I have have one at Our Savior now and another one that has moved on to Trinity. I am so very pleased with both their education. My oldest was completely ready for the AP program at Trinity and is now a Junior. He will be very ready to attend college after his Senior year and I believe it is because of the great foundation he received at Our Savior. My youngest will be there for a few more years and I am very much looking forward to watching him continue to excel as well. The teachers are very caring and concerned about each of the children. We still receive "Birthday Cards" and "Good Luck this coming Year" cards from my oldest boys teacher. Even though he is now a Junior he still gets a smile on his face when he gets these in the mail. Not only is the education top notch but the staff that presents the material I can not say enough great things about them all. Teachers make an at home visit before the start of the school year to each child so that they can meet their teacher in what is their comfort zone. I would recommend this school to anyone entering pre-school or those just beginning to enter the middle school years. Wonderful and caring Principal and staff!!!

Our kids have attended Our Savior Lutheran School since preschool (now they are in 3rd and 6th grade). The christ-centered education is wonderful, and all the teachers are very caring and good at their jobs. We love it!

If you want a school where your child knows everyone, your teacher sends you (the parent) a birthday card and the principle is available to meet you when you walk in without an appointment - this is the school for you. I was concerned about my son's ability to succeed when he started Kindergarten and the small class size and individual attention is what brought us to OSLS. Now my son is getting straight A's and has developed into a child that can handle almost any challenge he is given.

Our two children are at Our Savior and we couldn't be happier. It is a small environment and all of the teachers become familiar with all of the families. We have only been there a short time but I wish that we had spent all of our elementary years there.
