We have had three children attend John Hardin and it has become worse each year. We have moved our youngest to a school out of district. One male teacher has a coffee maker in the classroom and encouraged my daughter to stop by and talk anytime. One of the assistant principals reprimanded my son for standing up for a girl when two male students were harassing her, he was told to stay in his lane. We based our home purchase on the high school and were very disappointed. Most education is taught through a Chromebook, not by the teachers. There is also a lack of supervision in the classroom which allows more bullying and harassment, my son would not have had to step up if the teacher had been managing her classroom. I cannot recommend this school.

I moved my student to John Hardin High School after difficulties at another high school. She is like a different person now. She loves her classes and teachers. She said that the biggest difference between this school and other schools she has attended is that teachers and administrators are out in the school interacting with students on a regular basis. If she needed a letter of recommendation from her counselor, for instance, she knows that they would know who she is and what she likes more than being just a name in Infinite Campus.

The teachers here operate on a "if you treat me well I treat you well" system. I personally love it, however, that doesn't work for everyone.

I think this school has been amazing. I've made many friends here and the school spirit is awesome!

Overall I wish I would have spent my four years elsewhere. North Hardin is fun so I wish I would have either went there or etown. I wouldn't suggest attending John Hardin, the administrators act like it's a better school than it really is. They literally let a boy walk around in black face when seniors had to wear black for spirit day, well until someone posted him on twitter and word started getting around the county! That school is really going downhill, there is a reason why it's the smallest high school in Hardin County...

They made us respect our rival school when they literally had "Beat John" shirts. Apparently we're too "classy" for some good competitive rivalry. I never went to game because of this, we always looked lame compared to the other student section and our principal wouldn't even let us do cheers using their school name or anything. It was just a lame experience overall.

If you're bullied and go to the office they'll most definitely do something about it. That's one good thing.
