We found Pitt after a long search that included enrolling in two schools which were not a good fit. For us, the magnitude of the contrast in our experience at Pitt vs. other schools (both public and private) in Louisville is difficult to put into words. Our child endured rejection from students, teachers, and even other parents, but is now thriving at Pitt. As parents, we feel very fortunate that we have the option of high school and post-grad programs here.

Excellent school. Was able to tailor my childs curriculum to his strengths and challenges. Teachers and staff all truly care about each student and treat them all with respect and the utmost care. We are thankful to have a school like Pitt Academy in our community to serve the needs of students in which a traditional school environment cannot meet their individual needs.

Pitt Academy is an amazing school. My son started at Pitt in middle school, graduated high school (with a diploma, not a certificate), and is now in the post-graduate program. We have had a wonderful expeirence! Pitt is the ONLY Cathoic school for special needs students in the Archdiocese and the BEST school for special needs students in the region. My wife and I are in awe of what a great education our son has received and how much independence he now has. His future is bright thanks to the outstanding teachers and staff at Pitt Academy.

Pitt Academy is a very special place. It has been a game-changer for my special needs son and for me as well. The entire staff are all fully engaged and enthusiastic about their mission of helping the students become their best selves and reach their highest potential.

The teachers work hard to have engaging, hands-on learning experiences. I am always amazed at the photos on the family Facebook page of all the active learning that is going on everyday week in and week out. The academic content is both on his level and also challenging. He learns a lot every single week. The teachers ensure that academic content and activities are tailored to the needs of each individual student.

Pitt has unique life skills and vocational training programs for the students as well as a post-grad program that, to my knowledge, is unique to the city and probably the state.

My son has a wonderful group of friends, is able to participate in school clubs, sports, and social activities, and is appreciated and accepted for who he is, just how he is. He is happy to go to school. I cannot imagine this being the case at any other school in the city. His teachers both recognize and enhance his strengths while also noting and working toward improving his weaker skill areas.

Pitt has many special traditions and annual celebrations. The students also learn about and participate in their Catholic faith.

Having my son at Pitt has given me an amazing group of parents who serve as resource, support, and friendship to me and given me a real sense of community within a community. We are able to share contacts and information regarding the questions on medical, legal, and financial issues that arise in special needs families. Both the faculty and parent communities at Pitt are invaluable.

I think some are stronger than others but kids all seem to respect their teachers.

This is a special needs school and I feel like they could send more homework to help children understand that learning doesn't just happen at school.

My Son has attended for 4 years now. I am excited that they now have their own building instead of renting from various churches in the past. The school is always growing and finding the best way to teach each child.

Super unprofessional. Staff take their kids to work with them and they lie about the programs they actually have. Not all their teachers are even qualified.

This is a school for children who learn differently: ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, Downs syndrome, etc. There are small classrooms and the teachers can work one on one with students. So far my daughter has learned twice as much as she would in special education at a public school. I can not say enough about how wonderful the teachers and staff are.
