Top 10 graduate of class here, I would not recommend for any parent to enroll their children to this high school. The learning experience is subpar and many teachers often have no desire to teach kids properly. While there were a few staff and teachers who genuinely cared, there were many who did not appear to care. They let kids do what they want to in the classroom with minimal punishment or order. Even if you desire to study on your own in the classroom while everyone else is goofing off, there is little enforcement of policy which makes it very distracting to actually learn. Much of the staff is only worried about kids just graduating and passing the students rather than teaching them subjects needed for the future. Going into university after graduating from here was stressful and difficult even as a high achieving student. There are many topics that should have already been taught given the classes I took during my time in high school but we were always so far behind in the curriculum that I did not have that opportunity. If you are stuck going to this high school without much choice, I recommend getting either private lessons or studying and learning outside of the school to better prepare you if you plan on furthering your education at a university. One more point of concern is safety. They attempted to crack down on security and safety during my time at the high school but it proved to be futile due to the lack of enforcement. Things such as visible IDs were "required" for all students yet they were never enforced. Many students would wear hats and hoods even though they were against school policy. There was a student who managed to bring a gun on campus once during my time although there was no shootings. Fights were common occurrence and gossip was rampant and even encouraged occasionally by some staff. Another thing to point out is that the school itself was literally falling apart during my time. The ceiling would grow mold and some classes had to be moved to another classroom due to health concerns. Birds would get stuck inside the gym for days which would poop on the floors and try to drink from the water fountains. I am a somewhat recent graduate and those were the main points of concern that I had while attending. Overall, I would not recommend enrolling your child to this school if you can avoid it.

So far in this school with my daughter I would not recommend sending your kids to any school in the Christian county school system. Avoid living here if you can. The schools do not follow IEP, they discriminate against females, do not like any family from the northern states, and also do not like any students that are not of Christian faith. Bullying is rampant by not only students but staff as well. They target any student that identifies as part of the lgbtq and make their lives hell. My daughter comes home crying most days and calls to come get my kid are almost every day. This school district acts like they care but really they don't. The worst thing is as parents there is nothing we can do about it. The punishments are extreme the smallest thing can get your kid sent to ICE suspension or to Bluegrass Academy( the prison school!!!)

The best thing my parents ever did was transfer me to the Montgomery County School system! This school should be shut down permanently.

This school is a reflection of the community. It is outdated and in extremely poor condition. The property taxes are very low and the city fathers do not seem to care that their schools are suffering for lack of funds. There is a new superintendent that has a reputation for turning around school districts. Only time will tell. There is not an ongoing "bulling" policy and they do not address these issues. There are a lot of good teachers, but, they are teaching with one hand tied behind their back. I substituted in this district and I can tell you it has a lot of very uphappy teachers. I would not recommend anyone move to Hopkinsville. The schools are not good. This community is close to Ft. Campbell, KY and the serviceman has a choice.
