I am a student at WHMS. This school is absolutely horrible. We dont get school dances, lockers, talent shows, pep rallys, anything outside, and never do any fun activities. The teachers assign a video or packet and expect you to know everything. They also get more mad about the dress code then when students are being bullied. No action is taken against any form of racism or homophobia. We honestly cant be ourselves without being judged. The school smells horrible too. Its dirty and old and ive witnessed actual rats in the building. The school food is disgusting, and they put no effort into meals. I do not recommend going to this school. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE.

WHMS is an interactive school that offers a lot for students, such as band class, choir, VEX Robotics (new), friendly teachers and staff, and more! Although, it's not perfect, and that is to be expected of course -- I recommend reading on if you don't want any surprises. IMPORTANT: But here recently, the school has undergone a change in which it will force students to work online in a self-pacing environment -- no need for a teacher! This is a huge disservice to the students here at West, as they are not getting the needed education those with jobs pay for (for they cannot work at home if they don't have internet, nor can students be expected to complete something that is set "at their own pace." If you don't want your child behind in class and high school, I'd recommend talking to the principal, Mr. Lawson, at the START of the school year!

West Hardin School is a great school. The staff is friendly and welcoming. When we first realized we were in West Hardin School area I was a little worried because of the previous ratings and comments. We are a military family and have been here for almost the whole school year with no problems. The teachers are excellent and accommodating. In academics the school is on point, I was impressed. We communicate often with the kids about the school and they love it.
