I was bullied so heavily my mental health impacted every part of my life. I'm still recovering and nobody but me did anything about the situation.

Horrible. It brought nothing but pain and my GPA is still recovering from horrible teaching and my brain is still recovering from the depression I developed.

After hearing rumors, looking at test scores, etc. I was worried about my son attending J'town. He just finished the 9th grade & during this time, here's my observation: 1) Polio appears to be a good principal, very hands on; 2) My son had advanced classes. I found most of his teachers highly competent & engaged. They seemed to be very sincere in wanting the best for him, which I appreciated. Staff is always pleasant & supportive; 3) The level of academic challenge was somewhat of a mixed bag depending on the teacher; 4) However, J'town could be a much better school but I think the prevalence of students that simply are not engaged and conducting in risky behavior is overwhelming...for the teachers, administrators and especially, the students. Staff make a good effort at trying to control what I would consider as the "riff-raff" but I'm not sure if they have the resources to really make a difference. Unfortunately, academic excellence is the exception, not the norm. I give kudos to the principal for trying to make it the other way around but unfortunately they aren't there yet.
