I go to this school and it is a amazing school. The teachers make sure that we learn what we need to learn, but also make sure we have a great time. We also have a lot of secruity just in case of a shooting or a fight.

Had a teacher refuse to follow through on my sons 504 plan because she had 100 other students to teach. Nothing was done the teacher when reported the incident to the advisor and principal

Absolutely not, tons of cussing and fights. No plans ever to solve this issue besides having security tackle kids. Its like a prison.

Emailed the 6th grade principle regarding bullying TWICE. Never got a response back ( two weeks past) UNTIL I called a board member who called the school. NOW I get a response. A lack of concern for a students wellbeing until threatened by a phone call from the Board of Education

son had a 504 plan. His English teacher said she didn't have time to accommodate his plan because she had about 100 other students to teach. This teacher said this to me during a parent teacher conference , a month after all my sons teacher met to review his plan . She didn't voice an issue carrying out his need at that meeting.

principle was emailed multiple times regards to bullying od a student TWICE. He did not respond until the board of education was called to report the school was nor acknowledging bulling of a student.

My older son went to Crosby. Since it was my first experience with middle school I honestly thought the frustration and lack of communication was just part to middle school. Until my middle child went to a different middle school where it was an awesome experience as a parent. Communication among parents, staff and student was excellent. The moral of the school was always positive, very little fights and bullying. The experience taught me Crosby really was the problem. This school is "organized chaos " because of its size .

My child hates school and has little faith that the teachers care or can help him learn. The 504 plan is ignored and learning needs are not supported.

Evidence based instruction is not evidence. Teacher student relationship is negative and not supportive. Writing doesn't seem to be taught based upon the Kentucky Academic Standards.

This school is one of the worst schools in Jefferson county and nothing is being done about it! Just google Crosby Middle and watch the news stories roll in. From bulling, fights, sexual assault, and videos of it all happening. I don’t speak of this as an outsider, my son went to Crosby last year and I have witnessed this first hand. Classes are so overcrowded that they are holding class on a stage in the cafeteria. They can’t keep teachers my son had 4 different science teachers last year. I could go on and on but I’m going to leave it at this, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!!

the teachers respect and understand you but are most of the time are very negative once a teacher said to us "shut your mouth im tired of teaching kids lets get it over with it."

i know a lot of people made fun of me because i was going to Crosby, i thought it was going to be a horrible school. it turns out i love it, its so fun ,yes ther is bulling and no punishment you just have to stay out of that so. if you are going to send your child to Crosby that fine just make sure they stay out of drama and they will be fine and have fun. any ways my experience at this school i would rate a 8 out of 10.

I'm in 8th grade and I actually really like this school. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Some of the teachers and staff are really annoying, but I've really liked all the teachers I've had this far (except for a few). It's really not as bad as a school as everyone says it is. As long as you're in the AP or DMS program you should be fine. There are also some really good electives and extra-curriculars offered here. They offer Art, AP Art, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Piano, Spanish, Computer, etc. It's really a great school and I feel like I've learned a lot here.

We're new to this school (Crosby) and are absolutely disgusted with this school from the start. From the office lady that didn't want to give us a tour to the counselor who doesn't care to the teachers who have given up. I'm sure there are staff members that care we just haven't met them yet. I'm fearful my child will lose any knowledge she had from her previous school (Which was Excellent). If it was easy enough to sell our house that we just bought THEN WE WOULD.

Although having an awesome arts program, Crosby Middle School has below average teachers. Most teachers show no enthusiasm for teaching. The main theme is straight out of the book. The lessons are not interactive and are boring. All you do is work in the book and teachers rarely brought the curriculum into the minds of the students, just printed on the pages of textbooks. There is a lot of work with not much fun and are not enthusiastic about coming to Crosby.

About 7 years ago Crosby was the best middle school, now it's turning into the worst. I know that the majority of schools have fights but Crosby has way too many. Since Crosby starting letting kids from bad areas, the school started becoming horrible. The punishments for students aren't enough and encourages kids to do trouble. I think Crosby needs to stop letting in kids from bad areas because they are the reasons that Crosby might close in the near future. There also needs to be more disciplinary actions because there is too much bullying, which could lead to suicide. My last compliant is that there needs to be more drug and suicide prevention because there aren't many actions to help prevent these kids from doing drugs or committing suicide. Some of the staff that is in charge of consequences and bullying, punishes the victims of bullying rather than the aggressors. Crosby has way too many bad kids that care only about being bad to gain attention, which makes the learning environment hazardous for other students. I hope that next year, my experience at Crosby will be better.

Do NOT send your kids to Crosby if they have an IEP or qualify for ECE services, unless they qualify due to an obvious disability. Kids with ADHD or other "hidden" disabilities will NOT get the supports they need. Crosby has standard accommodations for everything. For example, my son does not do well on tests. Crosby's answer: give the student extra time to complete. More time does not help when the main problem is reading comprehension. What was really needed was to provide an area with an aide where my son could read each question aloud, then restate it in his own words to confirm that he understood the question before putting pen to paper. We even had one teacher who just gave him extra points to level the playing field. What?!! Crosby's overall test scores do not tell the whole story. If your child is extremely compliant and can produce the highest quality of work with little or no help from the teachers, then Crosby may work for you. Just don't expect them to welcome you (as a parent) with open arms. They do not like it when parents get in their way.

My school is nice, but it's really dirty there and it's full of mean kids and crazy kids. I learned a lot more in my other school, and I wish there was no dress code, our uniforms are extremely uncomfortable, they said uniforms improved our performances, but I don't see any change. Plus they are ugly and the teachers can be lazy.

I hate crosby! Its full of mean, crazy kids who pick on everyone! I hate it! There is a ton of bullies! I used to go to a catholic school and boy it was a lot harder, i learned a lot more at my old school!

i am an alumni of Crosby, and i can honestly say, out of all of the middle schools in JCPS, this is the best. We surpass the district in academics, sports, and a good environment. the academics are challenging, the teachers are wonderful, and the students are taught how not only to be great students, but great young Men and Women. I am so happy and blessed to have been able to go to Crosby. GO COUGARS!!!!!!
