I have had three children educated at St. Mark's, and their experience has been unique to each. The oldest discovered a gift for math and languages, as well as performance and theater. The second discovered a love for the biological sciences, and the "practicum" that comes with applied learning, and the third thrived in the comradery with students, teachers, and administration while awakening to their potential as a student. Like most private schools, the teachers at St Mark's were available upon request, and generally gave us good feedback and advice on how best to help our children thrive in the classroom. They also occasionally gave advice on how best to "coach" our children through the inevitable social development that children share at school. Now that our two oldest are in college and graduate school out of state they both attend church on their own on Sunday mornings, and I would attribute that in part to the chapel services they attended throughout their school years.

We are grateful to be a part of the St. Mark's community! Here, our three children find a nuturing and inspiring environment where they learn, grow, and thrive. St. Mark's is a wonderful Christian environment where faith and learning go hand in hand. The teachers and administration are truly dedicated—they care deeply about the students and work hard to provide both a strong academic foundation and a nurturing atmosphere.

The education is challenging in the best way, encouraging each child to reach their full potential while feeling supported along the way. It’s a place where children can grow academically, spiritually, and personally. We know that our children are receiving the foundation they need to be successful.

As a former student, st marks was one of the worst schools ever. The education was so bad. It did not prepare me for high school at all. Most of the teachers were horrible to everyone. They were rude and belittling. One of them, made the girls bend over infront of the boys in my eight grade year.
St marks did not help me when my anxiety was at its worst. I had the worst experience there during middle school. There are so many better schools out there. St marks education is horrible. The only good teachers were the French teacher and 8th grade English teacher. Everyone else. Were not great teachers.
The only reason I went to st marks was due to a speech impediment. It helped with that but it took about a decade to solve that problem. Also, the safety of the school is awful. When a kid THREATEN TO SHOOT THE SCHOOL, the principle did not do anything until the music teacher yelled at him.
The teachers did not do anything against students doing drugs or anything like that at the school. Also, they did not do anything about cheating. I never cheated but literally most of the students in my grade cheated.

There is no school in the Shreveport area where your child will receive a better education than at St. Mark’s. At St. Mark’s, each child’s individual needs are met. St. Mark’s sets a solid foundation for your child. It truly all begins at St. Mark’s! The children are loved and cared for by their teachers. The parent community is also amazing. We love St. Mark’s!

Consider any other private school in town. Avoid the middle school at all cost. Students are berated, shamed, and bullied on a daily basis by teachers and the head of school. Note that any previous positive reviews are from very long ago.

Terrific character development, as well as superior preparation for high school -- best decision we made as parents

I agree with the last poster, get your child out before middle school. Unfortunately the 6th grade math teacher teaches other subjects as well (poorly). As for the math confusion, parents complained but the principal does nothing. The problem here is leadership. It is so hard to move a child who is already in a middle school with friends. This is our last year and I cannot wait to get out.

The quality at this school really falls off once the children reach middle school. For the amount ot money it costs the 6th grade math teacher should know the difference between a numerator and a denominator. Some of the middle school teacher can become hostel if you have questions or problems. There are good middle school teachers at St. Marks, but the bad ones can really taint the way you feel about your child's school. Although I was happy with this school when my child was in elementary I am very unhappy with middle school, it is definately NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

I have been most impressed with the personal attention the teachers and staff at St. Mark's give my children in order to meet their individual styles of learning. My younger child's teachers make the material come alive in a way that helps him maintain focus and enjoy learning. My older child benefits from teachers who design challenging enrichment activities that help him achieve his academic goals.

St. Mark's offers a great loving Christian environment. We are overjoyed that we finally found St. Mark's. It has excellent academics, true Christian values, and an overwhelmingly positive attitude by all staff and children. We only wish we had become part of St. Mark's sooner!
