This is a great school in the middle of Baton Rouge. Its like a best kept secret. Its a smaller school so everyone knows everyone and it feels really safe. It is a part of Family Worship Center, so its a private Christian school. After touring and pricing other private schools for my kids, this one was by far one of the most affordable.
Its very clean, the admin are super sweet and the teachers are great! We love FCA!

My two kids have attended this school since Pre-K and our other children will follow behind soon. Like all schools there are strengths and weaknesses, but I love that my kids feel loved and have a safe atmosphere to learn. They are also ahead of the curve in their reading scores, and my one child that was behind in math has made a lot of progress. We are super satisfied with the school and think it's one of the best kept secrets in Baton Rouge.

An underrated school not known by many in a city where most schools are failing miserably. If there is one issue with FCA it is very poor parenting who shield their children from being responsible adults. Otherwise, this place is a diamond in the rough.

Where do I start. This is supposed to be a Christian school, but far from it. Family dominates this school as well as the church ministry. Kids do not learn anything and there is no teacher parent communication. Race is defiantly a factor and you can't tell me otherwise. Not everyone, but the most important ones. Parents that attend the church get favoritism and discounted tuition. The sports teams are all horrible and the coaches have no winning attitude. I was told that my child was called dumb and a box of rocks. What type of school allows their coach or faculty member to do this. Coaching in all sports is so bad kids quit the team because of the negativity. Forgive me but the the Boys Basketball team was looking bright and went to the state championship for the 1st time in 12 years. Well they fired that coach recently (go figure) after just one year. Too MUCH SUCCESS or RACE???? cause he was African American, anyway I wish would have never sent my kids to this school. We tried other schools but thought this was a real Christian atmosphere. Boy was I wrong. Staff is leaving. Kids are Leaving and its a shame because only the family and church members are still singing praises about the school. My kids don't even like chapel, because they down and talk bad about all other religions. You don't do that to children. This place is horrible and should be investigating! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! RUN!!!

Great daycare! Very caring and committed. I'm very familiar with many Day ares around Baton Rouge and this one is by far the most thorough and dedicated. I'm really impressed. I can't speak for the school but the preschool is outstanding.

During a time of great disaster FCA has proved to be amazing and merciful Christians. They opened up their school to my 4 children when we did not know what we would do about their education due to so many schools being flooded in Livingston Parish. My family is blessed and very thankful for the school working with us with our minimum finances. May GOD continue to bless this ministry and school.

My son went to FCA from K-5-9th grade. Like every school there are "some" good teachers. The problem is the administration. Frances Swaggart has appointed Carolyn Richards as the "Administrator" of the school. Her only qualification is that she is Gabriel Swaggart's mother-in-law.
My son was bullied like another parent mentioned in their review. Because the perpetrators were good athletes they suffered no consequences. I loved the school initially but as the years went by the school was less appealing. The promise of football and soccer is still on their website, but is non-existent. Girls track was dropped because parents questioned fees associated with the sport when the school provided nothing to the athletes. The basketball and baseball facilities are great, but with poor leadership they will soon sit unused.

In the high school there were two effective teachers at the time of our departure. In the elementary school there were three effective teachers.

I feel like the amount of homework given to my son was appropriate for the classes he attended.

My son was cursed and threatened by upper class students in the school. I reported the incidents because my son refused to. The students lied about the incident and were not punished.

My toddler was dismissed from the school after four hours. They stated she was not a right fit for the school because she cried for over 45 minutes and they were not able to console her. I explained she just turned 2 and they should expect her to crying her first day!!!!! I was livid!! When I arrived to pick up my child no one was holding her. She was sitting in a chair with an adult standing over her crying!!!! Those horrible people did not even give my child a chance to adjust to her new environment. And to state the words to me that she is not the right fit!!! I am reporting this school and filing a complaint!!!! Word of advice this school is a joke and they know absolutely nothing about family or Christian!!! Parents beware!!!

This is the worst school I have ever sent my child to. We have moved around, a lot, and this is by far the worst school. Actually this is the only school I have written a review in because it's so terrible. PARENTS BEWARE. My child was bullied repeatedly. The teachers did nothing but make excuses, my child was called racist at 8 years old and came home and had to ask me what that meant because we are not like that all! He was the only white boy in his class and got picked on for it! I was lied to about things that happened, a teacher told me my child had a kite pushed in his face when in reality another kid took it from him and slapped him across the face so hard his entire ear and side of his face had a big welt on it, that was the last straw. If your child goes here and has issues they will not be addressed because they don't care unless your parent is faculty as most parents are at that school and send their kids there, they play favoritism, my child's testing scores for Iowa at all other schools were well above the 50 percentile in all subjects. His last year at fca his test scores were below the national average in subjects he got straight A's in and above in subjects he struggled in, made no since like it wasn't even his test. My son is now going to counseling over the bullying he endured while at this school, this is supposed to be a Christian school and the actions of the people here are far from it! Save your money, send your kids to st Jude even if your not catholic, they care about all the children and have been amazing in just the first week with helping him adjust! Parents Seriously beware!
A Parent.

I am shocked at the negative comments I've read about FCA. My family moved from Texas to attend this school and we love it! I am now employed by FCA and enjoy coming to work every day. The staff, faculty and administration work very hard to ensure not only an excellent education, but a spiritual one as well. We have chapel weekly and have mini devotions in every class daily. The children are cared for and very much loved, and I can personally attest to that.

My daughter attends the pre-school. Ever since Carolyn Richardson has been director, it is not the same! She does not care about the well being of the children or their teachers and she is hardly ever there! The have a student to teacher ratio problem and are very inconsistent! My daughter comes home dirty on a daily basis and the rocks on the playground are horrible!! They are dangerous for small children, they are always in her shoes, and they are very dirty!! I have voiced my concerns about all issues but I see that they will not be addressed!! As soon as her spot is available at her new school, we are done!! Use your money and send your child where the money is worth it!

We moved to Baton Rouge from another state and heard horror stories about the public school system. We felt pressured to send our kids to a private school. We chose FCA b/c the cost is cheaper than most other private schools and while the teachers have been friendly, I have to say that there are definitely some things that I don't agree with & need improvement. One of my children is in the preschool and she had been bitten, hit, bruised and scratched by other kids and I never received an incident report, not even a word about it. One of the girls that bit her and was biting other kids was allowed to stay even though their policy on biting calls for expulsion. However, my mom is also a school teacher in the public sector in Florida and says that my oldest is ahead of her kids at the same level in the public sector. Most employees have multiple roles. That's how they save money and in return how we as parents save money. I think they are trying to give the kids the best education without breaking the parents who want to send their kids to a private school. Just b/c it's Christian doesn't mean families that send their kids there are, so just expect some of the same behavior.

UNPROFESSIONAL ADMINISTRATION. Ive never been through so much stress. Please do not not send your child/ children. Theres nothing Christian about them. Ita more important they have power and not concern for the chikdren. My chikd went through a major depressiin because of what they put us through

FCA WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. MY DAUGHTER WAS ENROLLED IN THE PRE-SCHOOL PART AND WAS TREATED VERY UNFAIRLY. THE CAREGIVER WASNT CERTIFIED AND SHE EVEN ARGUED WITH ME. I ASKED TO SEE VIDEO OF MY DAUGHTER AND THEY DENIED ME THE RIGHT, BECAUSE THEY WERE CLEARLY COVERING FOR THEIR SO CALLED CAREGIVER. SHE WAS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL AND IN MY OPINION SHOULD HAE BEEN FIRED. BUT INSTEAD THEY DENIED ME THE RIGHT TO GIVE A STATEMENT AND SEE VIDEO AND SAID MY CHILD COULD NO LONGER ATTEND THE SCHOOL. VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY. FCA IS A JOKE AN SO IS THEIR ADMINSTRATION, THAT ONLY WENT OFF OF WHAT THEIR TEACHER SAID BECAUSE I QUESTIONED HER CAREGIVING TO MY CHILD. MY CHILD WOULD COME HOME EVERYDAY HYSTERICALLY CRYING. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE A PRESCHOOL PROGRAM. NONE OF THEM ARE QUALIFIED.
