Being a military family we looked online for an area to live with the best schools. Benton High School shows academically better than other schools. Sadly we sent our daughters here. They are mixed so were bullied. We had to remove one due to bullying because it got so bad. She wanted to fight the girl bullying here but knows she would have a charge against her. Its disgusting how much bullying goes on and teachers sometimes are part of the bullying issue.
If you are a military family take your children to Caddo School district. My girls were 2 years ahead of the curriculum when we moved here and Caddo would have been better for their academics. They set children up for success also when college is involved.
Sadly I have to say if your children are white or African American they may be okay in Benton but doesnt mean they will. A few of my childrens friends took their lives because of bullying in the 3 years they were at Benton High.
Also just to add so much is taught using YouTube videos and if your child needs to be actually taught this isnt the school for them. A lot of coaches are unqualified teachers. Its ridiculous!!!!
Teachers are not supported by the principle. A teacher emailed me because of my daughter being bullied by a child and the teacher told me she asked for help and the asst principle wouldnt help. He is a major issue. Told us when we met with him there is not a bullying problem at the high school. We had proof through our daughters and their friends and no one seemed to care.
Do not take your child here. You are going to ruin their self-esteem letting them be around nasty kids that are raised by nasty parents.

The bathroom policy is simply absurd and shows no respect for students. The bathroom policy being that teachers must ask the administration if students may go to the bathroom. Many times the administration simply ignores the teachers request leaving students stuck in class while having to relieve themselves. On top of that many of the teachers (not all) and the administration show little to no respect for the student body and students as individuals.

No interaction with parents about graduating seniors. No assistance with scholarship opportunities beyond students/parents having to visit websites.

Lots of bullying that teachers dont care about. There are a few nice teachers though.

Bullying is done by the popular and rich kids at this school. The teachers dont say anything because obviously they are getting paid by the parents to not say anything

one of the students here has a learning disability and she gets bullied but some students take care of her

Most of the students here went to gasp the 2nd day of school for getting into a fight

Some teachers will actually pay attention to what the students say while others wont really care
