Since Mrs. Henry has become the Principal she has completely elevated the experience and we are so proud to be Sun City Stars! The teachers are incredible and the students are a good mix. It's like everyone gels really well. They take time with the students and the learning environments in the classroom are top tier. Great School!

Sun City is AMAZING! WE first started during Covid and was a little skeptical since we were not able to visit the facility. However, things have gotten better and better every year. Mrs. Henry has really turned this place around. Teachers are loving and passionate and the learning environment is clean and well kept. Proud to be a Sun City Star!!

I feel this is overall a good school and my son enjoys it. I would like to see more and when I say more I mean at least ONE Male teacher at the school. I don't believe I've ever seen a public with no male figure.

This is year will be year 3 for us at Sun City. The school provided a paper with report cards/ progress reports in which it states if you would like to step up a one-on-one with the teacher to discuss our child's development and figure out ways to help my child succeed (he was below average in a couple categories). I had always filled one out and NEVER received a response...EVER! It was always me who probably seemed like the annoying, nagging parent to reach out several times to set up a time. What's the point in sending out that form?

Extremely disappointed. My son was treated unfairly as they continued to bring him down levels instead of encouraging him to stay ahead. They put him in counseling without my consent because he asks questions and talks to his friends while he is ignored since he already knows the material. The teacher calls frequently to let me know it's because I don't punish him enough at home for his behavior marks at school. He started calling himself dumb and stupid and began hating going to school when before he had all the confidence in the world. With such high ratings I am disappointed with how this school has let down my child.

This school is more adept at helping kids who are behind than spending time with children who are excelling.

Rather than helping students who are falling behind, the teachers and staff just want to hold them back a grade. It's sink or swim at this school. It's pathetic how the faculty will not even try to change their method of teaching to help a child who is struggling. Every child is NOT the same!!

My son has been in this school for kindergarten and first grade, and both school years he was BULLIED the ENTIRE school year, and each year it was a new bully! The staff has this approach that if they don't see it happen there is nothing they will do about it. My boy was getting punched in the stomach every single day in the middle of the playground, but the teachers only ever seemed to notice when he would try and defend himself and then MY SON would get in trouble for fighting! I just don't understand how several children crying and saying this one kid hit them continually gets ignored!!! My son doesn't feel safe or comfortable at this school and convincing him to go and put in the effort is getting increasingly hard. I'm tired of talking to the teachers and the office staff and them making me empty promises and still having my child come home hurt. The staff also doesn't do anything about children stealing from eachother. I'm giving this school one more chance because we have very limited options, but if it happens again I'm done, I'd rather homeschool

It is a shame that a student who excels can get an IEP before a student who has a disability and desperately needs one. The answer for a child who struggles at Sun City is retention. Research shows that outcomes for kids who are retained generally are NOT positive for the child and any achievement gains associated with retention fade within two to three years after the grade repeated. So why is this the answer, Sun City?

I went to sun city as well as my two children and I can honestly say after all these years of me being there, it's still just as awesome as I remember. I love all of the staff and the school years are always filled with fun and educational activities.

I have two children that attend this fantastic school. The teachers go above and beyond in creating meaningful learning experiences for my children. They also do an outstanding job in writing and receiving outside funding sources, such as grants to ensure that my children have the best educational tools possible. The school climate at Sun City is that of a family where every student is valued and appreciated while at the same time, high expectations are expected. I have been very satisfied with this school and would recommend it to anyone who is moving to Bossier parish.

My son has gone to Sun City since he was in Kindergarten, he is now in 2nd grade and I couldn't have chosen a better school. They do so much for the kids and have an excellent program here. If you are coming to this area South Bossier City is where you want to live. Excellent schools!!
