The leadership under Dr. Joy Watson has improved this school so much! Her and her staff truly care about their students and pushing them to achieve their best.

This school is very unprofessional and unorganized the principal doesnt interact with parents AT ALL he doesnt even speak. He acts as though he is irritated all the time. A lot of kids there arent learning anything because they are quick to throw them out of school for any little thing because they dont want to deal with them. Teachers these days are not compassionate they are just there because it pays the bills. These teachers say anything to and around these children and if u ever wanna get it addressed GOOD LUCK WITH THAT BECAUSE THE PRINCIPAL DOESNT CARE its whatever the teacher or staff person says and he just signs off on it. The TOR lady will call you constantly about things she doesnt even know anything and lies consistently adding her two cents on something she read off paper SMH. This school has got to be the WORST school my child has ever attended and i wouldnt recommend this school to anyone if my life depended on it.

My kid has thrived at Jefferson Terrace Academy for Prek and K in 2020 and 2021, and what incredibly challenging years they have been for everyone! The administration under principal Whittington and the staff have all been very professional, really care about the kids, and my kid is learning her butt off. They are starting up sports this year and we are looking forward to participating.

The principal is Zach Whittington; the 2019-2020 school year will be his third year as principal.

Very unprofessional. This is my kids last year at this school. I've seen too much go on. I have heard the principal on the phone cursing. The way the teachers talk to the kids isn't cool. One of my kids have a learning disability and other disability issues and they treat her so wrong. It hurts my heart how they treat her. I cried at the school letting them know how I felt. Nothing has changed. I wrote a letter to the principal telling her I would like a meeting with her and one of the teachers. She took the letter to the teacher letter her read it when the letter was for her. It's a shame how the staff is at this school. The only have a couple good teachers there that are willing to help the kids that have a hard time learning.

The only reason I give any stars is be a useful of my son's pre-k teacher last year. She truly is a gem. The school may be a good one to others but for me, personally, it is nothing short of a disappointment if my children do not learn anything from their teachers. This year was my oldest sons third year there. I can say he has learned nothing that will contribute to his future. I believe my second son lucked out with his pre-k teacher last year. This year, his kindergarten teacher had it easy with him because he was taught everything last year. In fact, he was pretty much the teacher's aid working for free. Each day he would tell me the errands he had to run and the kids he had to walk to the office. This is the case for my oldest, as well. He has been the teacher's aide, for free. Maybe next year, they will get lucky and score a great teacher but I am am no taking my chances any longer. Let us not even begin to talk about the principal. How did she even become one?
