Have had three kids go to this school and all of them received a wonderful elementary education. They not only tested well on all standardized tests, but were each incredibly well-prepared for challenging middle school curriculums. We had wonderful experiences with the teachers and staff who all care very deeply about their students. The administration has always been first rate as well. There is LOT of parent involvement at Bond Mill, from both moms, dads, and grandparents. The PTO is very active and provides a lot of supplemental educational and community-building activities. Wonderful gem of an elementary school! Our kids were lucky to go there!

It is with a heavy heart that I am withdrawing my soon-to-be 5th grader from Bond Mill Elementary due to moving to our new home. I lived in Fairfax County before and my then first-grade daughter attended Fort Hunt, a great Spanish Immersion school. I was reluctant to transfer my daughter to a PG School.
I'm writing this review to say that I couldn't have been more wrong in my hesitation.
I'm simply blown away by Bond Mill Elementary, the principal, Mr. Fitzgerald, and his amazing, incredible staff. They say that morale is determined by the leadership. This couldn't be more true. My daughter has excelled in every sense due to the firm, gentle, but loving pushes from her teachers. She's a straight A student, a viola playing drama kid who enjoys physical activity and being a good friend to others. The one time she had issues with behavior, their counselor quickly intervened and all was resolved immediately. My daughter LOVES school, she loves learning, and she is proud of her accomplishments. BOND MILL DID THAT!
The fact that Principal Fitzgerald knows my daughter's name along with mine and that of ALLLLLL the children speaks to his love of 'his' kids and school. He works hard and his resilience and never-ending sense of humor serve him well. I've also never seen better parent participation. Teachers encourage heavy parent involvement which helps eliminate communication issues. If your child is stronger or weaker in any area of learning, the teachers will be sure to put them on the best learning track for them, truly individualizing the learning experience.
Though we are leaving Bond Mill, I hope that my review of this school will help sway you if you are on the fence. I promise you won't regret it. They set the bar SKY HIGH.

My child started in kindergarden and is now in 5th. I often say that if all the schools in PG county could imitate Bond Mill we would have an excellent school system

My daughter has completed kindergarten at Bond Mill Elementary and the caring, methodical approach that her teacher took with regard to the individual learning of each student in her class was amazing.

This is an awesome school!!!! I have a kindergartner and 2nd grader here. I am so happy with the education they are receiving. Mr. Fitzgerald, the principal, knows every child's name, is out front every morning greeting the children, and they all love him. The teachers are caring, hard-working, and very responsive to parent questions/concerns. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am for the wonderful staff here!

Our son has excelled at Bond Mill, so much so he was invited to the counties talented and gifted program. He absolutely loves the school. The principal is one of the best, the kids love him and he knows all of their names, greets them at the door every morning.

As a parent of 4 I have been at BMES for over 5 years and they have always risen above the standard. From the Principle down to the parents everyone pulls together to make sure the students get the best education possible. You can see that the schools number one priority is the students success.

This is an awesome school! Mr. Fitzgerald is an excellent Principal. He knows most of the names of the kids and parents by heart. The teachers and staff are friendly and dedicated. You can see that they truly enjoy their jobs and teaching the children. I am an involved parent and volunteer regularly at the school.

I too heard great things about BMES and was excited for my daughter to begin. Mr. Fitzgerald is an example of what a principal should be...he's respectful, energetic, and yes he knows most, if not all, of the kids by name. Like any school, BMES has a mix of seasoned (more than 10 years experience) and green (less than 5 years experience) teaching staff who are invested in teaching and student success, but as a parent you definitely have to stay involved in order for your child to reach their full potential.

Bond mill is a great school, the academic standard is superb, teachers are hardworking and ready to work with kids, very courteous staff. The principal Mr. Fitzgerald is awesome, he is so involved in the success of the kids and school as a whole. My son was there for kindergatten and he had a nice time but we had to move so he would not be resuming with 1st grade. We will surely miss the school and the staff. Best Elementary school in PG County!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bond Mill is AMAZING. I share custody (50/50) with my ex husband and he lives in the Bond Mill neighborhood. I drive from Baltimore half the week so that my son can attend this school. The teachers are all wonderful, Mr. Fitzgerald , the principal, is spectacular and the whole school community is everything you could ask for. I don't have one complaint about this school. Love it love it

Hello all My daughter and nephew started at Bond Mill six month before the summer. We came from the Howard county area. My expectations were high due to bad expericences. I didn't know what to expect because I had heard some not so nice things about PG county school. Bond Mill was so welcoming! So user friendly. They encourage the parents participation. They embrace all cultures and I like having lunch with my daughter and helping when I can. I wanted to see better and I have. The teacher are great. The kids will stay. We were thinking of moving. I'm impressed! I'm not easily pleased and this school has proven itself. Thanks Ms. Johnson

Both of my children attended Bond Mill, as did I long ago. It is still a good school and has even improved. The staff and teachers are very caring. My children had special medical issues. Everyone there looked out for my daughter and helped her learn to thrive with her challenges. In Kindergarten she was thoroughly taught how to make her surroundings safe. She gained a confidence I don't think I could have installed in her by myself. My son thrived as well. They both continue to get honor roll and take honors classes. They were well prepared for MLK middle by their 5th grade teacher. I am so grateful to everyone at Bond Mill. They not only do their jobs, but love them. And it shows. In the school and the students they teach. It has been a privilege to have my kids at Bond Mill.

This will be my son's last year at Bond Mill. I know he's going to miss every one just as much as I will. His 4th grade teacher Mr. Haslup is an extremely remarkable person. His level of attention to each student and his patience should be bottled. If your looking for a great school that will be dedicated your childs development, Bond Mill is the way to go.

Great school! Each morning (rain or shine) principal Fitzgerald greets my son by name and a high five at the entrance. From advanced spelling lists and reading groups to algebra and academic teams like Destination Imagination - he has been challenged and loves it. Our oldest son enjoyed a private elementary school education. But Bond Mill is easily comparable and probably a tad better.
