My daughter was not paying attention, calling out, being bullied, failed all test, bad grades, telling her the teachers did nothing to help her. Used to have a behavior chart sent home everyday for her. We moved schools and shes literally a different kid. Everything is so much better now.

Chaotic environment. Teachers have no control of the classroom. Administration doesn't follow through with parent complaints of bullying or unfair treatment. The Board Office Assistant has a nasty disposition and is truly inefficient in handling situations.

It has been a great experience. We debated sending our son to a nearby private school because of the open classroom format, but we decided to give Rippling Woods a shot first. They have exceeded our expectations. Our son enjoys going to school, and our youngest begins there next year.

My son is given steady daily assignments each week reinforcing the lessons from class. We are made aware of the curriculum and testing schedule so he stays ahead of the requirements.

My son just finished 1st grade. His kindergarten and first grade teachers were wonderful. My son has a sensory issue making him have difficulties in loud or overwhelming situations. They put systems in place and he is flourishing.

The principal greets families during drop offs. We have had a couple of meeting with her and her team and they have been very engaged and helpful.

Again, my son has some challenges with focus and the open classroom format does not help. That said, the teachers and school have found ways to make sure he succeeds.

My son had an issue with an older bully, which he handled himself. Following the incident, we explained the situation and everything was resolved without further incident.

Horribly marginalized and the administration treats everyone as if they are on public assistance, an immigration or poorly educated. There is a huge systematic disparity st RWES.

The educators are Ok
They could be better but it is what it is with public school,but the enforcement on bullying isn't good.The homework system isn't good enough, it's OK.The school isn't all that clean and the lunch only Caters to Meat eaters in 2018 the county needs to get on board to Healthy eating Vegan or vegetarian options. THE OPEN CLASS ROOM SYSTEM DISRUPTIVE!

There is a really great group of teachers at this school. All of the teachers my kids have had are wonderful and caring. The open classrooms and disruptive students are the biggest issues here. Hopefully they will be building a new school soon, so that will help, but I wonder if one or two permanent assistant teachers per grade would help (They already do this in Kindergarten). They need more help for dealing with the disruptive students. I disagree with another parent who said there is nothing in place to reward good behavior. There are bamboo bucks the kids can earn and trade in for prizes, positive referrals, student of the month per class, grade and school-wide, quarterly celebrations for good behavior, etc. They also started a program this year called FISH, which teaches the kids one character trait each month, such as kindness, respect, etc. So I think the school is definitely trying and they do care. They just need more help.

We have had no problems with any of the teachers. They have been wonderful, caring and keep the lines of communication open with parents.

They do not stop or even address bullying when it is taking place and the kids are expected to deal with it.

They assign homework every week however the students who do the homework don't get rewarded and the kids who don't do the homework aren't penalized.

Again no system in place to reward the good and punish the bad. The students do what they want when they want and nothing is said to them.

We have been dealing with this school for 7 years since our oldest was in 2nd grade. They pushed him through to middle school without giving the option to hold him back when he was failing. The administration is a joke the only time you see them is if you call the superintendent, then all of a sudden they are available for a meeting where nothing is accomplished.

Let's get the negative out of the way: This school is overcrowded, and the building needs to be renovated. Now onto the positive, based solely on our personal experiences: My daughter is in Kindergarten. Her teacher cares for each of her students individually and I was very impressed with how she handles a class of 24. Everything is very organized and she keeps the kids on task. I have had positive encounters with the principal, vice principal, volunteer coordinator, and other staff members. My daughter is thriving here and so far I am happy. I hope we will continue to have positive experiences in the higher grades as well.

Both my girls went to this school. My eldest went for 4 & 5th grade. She was a struggling student before she came to Rippling Woods so much so we considered holding her back in 3rd grade. Rippling Woods staff taught to my daughter, learning what she needed and she went from a failing student to A's and B's within a year. She hated school when she started and left loving school. I really like the open classroom environment and the amount of communication from teachers and staff about my children is outstanding. A very engaged staff! The principle is a bit rough around the edges but if you keep an open mind you realize what a fantastic job he does. He isn't the soft spoken sweetie you think of when you think of an elementary school teacher. He's no non-sense, which was my favorite part about him. I had to move my youngest daughter to another school this year due to me moving and we miss Rippling Woods so much. Her new school can't hold a candle to Rippling Woods.

I was a student at this school from the 1st - 5th grades. Now my daughter attends this school. She started attending in kindergarten and is currently in the 4th grade. I loved the school and the teachers and my daughter feels the same way. To see the high standards applied towards learning as well as self respect and respect for others, which has been the focus of this school since the days I roamed it's halls, is very impressive. I am proud to not only be a parent, but a past student as well! GO PANDAS!!!!

My husband is in the military, so we have moved a lot in the past few years. This school is one of the best schools my daughter has attended. Her teacher is wonderful. A negative would be all of the money we have sent in so far. Every week there is something new to pay for. Compared to Severn Elementary, this school is perfect. This school actually cares about their students.
