This school has high turnover in teachers and the ones that are there are either on leave or focused mostly on "it's a job". There is attitude and an unexplainable energy from the principal to the teachers. We moved here because of the early ratings but now I am hoping to get my child to another school

I used to hear great things about Marlton Elementary. So, when I moved in the area I was excited to enroll my children. That was the worse thing I could’ve ever done. Both the Principal and Assistant principal need to be replaced. The Principal does absolutely nothing and is clueless about her job responsibilities. She avoids parents and issues that take place in the school. My son had an attempted bullying incident in the bathroom with two other students, and she tried to sweep it under the rug! I brought it to her attention and she told me she was investigating, but I never receive a phone call from the school. If my son didn’t tell me I would have never known!!

My son also has an IEP as well. I was not happy during our meeting because they tried to blame his attendance. When they actually do a horrible job with taking and updating attendance in ParentVue. They tried to insulate that his attendance may be a part of the reason he struggling in school. When in fact my son has been struggling since preschool and had already been diagnosed with a learning disability. They denied him for speech services… so I had him evaluated through children’s and he in fact does have a speech delay in two areas!!

Also, my daughter (2nd grade) hated that school!! My daughter is very shy and quiet. Never had an issue with going to school. Although, It is very hard for her to trust people and open up. So when you have teachers who are very nonchalant and dismissive it is hard to feel comfortable and engage. My daughter was literally failing because she wouldn’t raise her hand to engage and was too afraid to ask for help when needed. My daughter has never struggled in school and has always been the top of her class. That was until she came to marlton. They really need to hire better teachers that actually enjoy teaching!!! Being a former educator…, I became fed up with this school. So, I pulled my children out in January and homeschooled them for the remainder of the year.

The only person that made my children feel welcomed was Ms. Morman (spell check) but she always greeted my kids with a smile!!

This school has drastically changed over the years for the worse. My oldest child attended in 2013 thru 5th grade and it wasn't as bad as it is now. The teachers currently seem very dismissive in responding to complaints about safety and don't care. You wont find out about anything serious that requires a phone call unless your child tells you themselves when they arrive home which is clearly unacceptable and unprofessional. They don't teach much of anything and the progress of your child's academics seems to be left in your hands exclusively so your'e better off home schooling or removing your child to another school where the teachers actually teach and care about their students safety. The past two years both of my child's teachers left in the middle of the school year without notice to the parents. Both seemed very uninterested in teaching and didn't love their jobs while they were present so essentially my child didn't loose anything by their departure. My child doesn't seem as motivated to want to be at this school so I'm making other plans because the staff at this school seems to be failing their students. My child's best year was in Kindergarten. My child was always excited to wake up early to see Mrs. Copeland's smiling face where she made learning inviting , fun and enjoyable. Each morning she greeted each child with a hello and a smile and made every child in her class feel special, excited and ready to learn. My child loved every moment of kindergarten because of Mrs. Copeland's love for her career and kindness and care for her students. I cant praise and thank Mrs. Briona Copeland and Cheryl Ramsey enough for being exceptional and kind teachers. My child learned more virtually through a computer screen than in person when students had to return. Everything went downhill after kindergarten and my child has been disinterested with being at this school since. I miss the days in which teachers actually cared for the safety and academic progress of their students. Thank you Mrs. Copeland and Mrs. Ramsey. Your great presence at Marlton is a gift to every child you teach.

I give this school 0 stars. I would recommend this school to my worse enemy. This Principal isn't knowledgeable about what is going on in the building that she is responsible for. The teachers make up rules and they are not on the same page with grading and assigning due dates. This isn't the Marlton I use to volunteer at or participate in school activities. Those were the good old days and I truly miss them. The only person in that school I trust is Mrs. Cole.

The kids are mostly from the same little neighborhood, so their neighborhood problems transfer over. But I mostly clicked disagree due to the amount of bullying immediately after school on Heathermore Blvd. The students walk home and their are frequent fights and bullying.

The school is in a transition phase with leadership, but lots of people are stepping up to fill the needs.

Excellent. Marlton is a small safe school with a good family feel. The staff is good, parent support is well above average, the support staff (secretaries, nurse, specials teachers, and teacher aides) are all well trained and friendly.

Malton just like private school except the school doesn't have a enough land.

Marlton has very attentive teachers and staff. The classroom sizes are wonderful and the environment is safe.

My child's teacher does not respect her students at all. Other teachers I've seen in passing and the other teacher that teaches my child's grade seem to be very effective

I was overly excited about enrolling my child at Marlton Elementary after speaking to staff members that all seemed pleasant, very polite and helpful. I attended the school orientation which I felt was going rather well until the principal had the large group break down to their child’s respective grades to go over what to expect for the school year and give us a tour of the school. Once seated in the classroom both teachers began to give their personalized versions of what was on the handout given to all parents. The drastic difference between the attitude and demeanor of both teachers left some parents saying out loud what I was thinking “I really hope my child doesn’t get that teacher”. Well my child ended up with the teacher that had the very dismissive demeanor and condescending tone. I’ve spoken with other parents whose child had this particular teacher and have yet to hear anything positive. I’ve sat in the classroom which was complete and utter chaos not to mention the disruptive students that should be attending Wheatley ECC because no one could stop their outburst. After a couple more observations I made of the teacher and my child coming home telling me for the second time a child in the class was running around with scissors trying to cut students in the class; I had enough and called to schedule a meeting with the principal to see about getting her teacher/classroom changed. I was able to voice my concerns to the principal to try and fix the situation. The principal began to tell me how she’s such a wonderful teacher and she is doing her best and won’t change my child’s teacher. I have and will continue to be heavily involved in everything my child does and since it is apparent nothing will be done about rectifying the situation, I am aggressively looking at alternative schools that will not only challenge my child but also provide her a safe learning environment. I take my child’s safety and education very seriously and am gravely disappointed.

I read the wonderful reviews of the school up to 2011, with no later reviews. Then I realized that since that time a new principal took over. Now, 2015, I have a kid in the school and the class is utter chaos. The atmosphere there is not conducive to learning.
