The staff here are awful. They don’t know how to treat students. They treat them like animals and each year this school gets worse and worse. It looks like the administration does little to nothing about handling a situation. I am hoping this school gets better because in these conditions with those staff there is no hope. It seems some staff prefer other students more and I don’t want to say it has something to do with race but it sure does look like it. I honestly don’t recommend this awful school. 0/10

Oxon Hill Middle school provides the perfect environment for students that are growing out of childhood into early adolescence and help them to know what they want to be when they grow up

Oxon Hill Middle School has transformed under the guidance and leadership of the new Principle Ms. Cook. Students and staff seem happier. We have long avoided sending our daughter to Prince Georges County Public Schools due to the bad reviews online. We have lived here 10 years and have only watched the schools scores fall further and further down. The pandemic has been the push the school needed to move towards a more equitable and technologically advanced future. All classes are using Google Classroom this year and will likely switch to a full Canvas Learning system in the near future. As a STEM school the science and technology instructional staff have risen to the occasion and teach students about coding, robotics and key coding languages like python and javascript. OHMS also is doing well with after school activities like basketball , Cheer, Soccer and Honor Society.

Students who need it have individual programs.

The environment is set up to foster love and friendship among the students.

I would give Oxon Hill Middle School the highest rating possible!
The students which are the most important part of the equation, are treated in the manner that the principal, vice principals and teachers desire them to behave...not in the manner that they sometimes behave.
I worked at another Prince George's County Public School and the students were yelled at constantly. There didn't seem to be any active incentives for the students to be reminded that better was expected of them other than the bulletin boards that seem to have become wall paper because they didn't seem to be implemented.
At Oxon Hill Middle they are constantly reminded in a loving a peaceful way that of a higher standard is expected of them.
If a child does not succeed at Oxon Hill Middle it is certainly not the fault of the school.

The students are referred to as Kings and Queens and told at the end of each day that they are loved and cared for.
They are asked to make good decisions on their trips home!
I am sure that they hear these words at home...but if not they hear them daily at school.

The principal, Mr. Coleman is kind , respectful and caring with the staff but especially with the students!

This school has a great leadership and way of thinking. I appreciate the "kings and queens " motto it builds confidence in my child. I believe this school does a great job catering to the needs of students going outside the box teaching them the way they learn making them feel safe at school where they can Thrive and be the best students that they can be I appreciate the staff I think the school just needs more activities but I'm sure that a State issue

If you have a child with special needs don't send them there. If you have a mainstream kid, don't send them there. This school is the worst in the area. Do your self a favor and try not move in that part of Fort Washington.
