Bayside was not a fun experience. There were certain kids who were mean, and the school did nothing about it. There was never any homework, maybe a couple math problems here and there, but homework was uncommon. When it comes to teachers it depends on who the teacher is. Very few teachers are supportive. They seemed quiet distant from students. I never had any type of connection to any of the teachers there. (I was and still am very close to my teachers from the school I went to before I went here and returned to.)

Naturally, children learn primarily from observing the behaviors of those around them; the teachers, administrators and support staff treat each other as well as the kids, with respect and compassion. There is a strong focus on the County’s Character Counts Program, which I have to admit, when my first child started school and learned about the program I thought it was something they promoted to make the schools “look” good but I am happy to say I was dead wrong. Character does count and I’m so glad my kids are learning and witnessing how very important it is to have values and ethics you believe in. The support and compassion the teachers and administrators have shown to the students and their families during this very unprecedented time has renewed my faith in humanity.

The leadership @ this school is second to none. Ms. Welch is an amazing principal who supports the staff, teachers, administration, student families and above all else, she supports our children!

Bayside recognizes that all children learn differently and takes measures to ensure students learning styles are best “matched” with a Teacher’s “teaching” style.

There is a zero tolerance policy in place when it comes to bullying and it is enforced. When my son was in 3rd grade, he had issues with one of his friends. I spoke with the parent first, when that didn’t work, I reached out to his teacher to let her know my concerns. I was immediately contacted and the situation was handled appropriately.

The teachers are kind and compassionate to all of the students and their families regardless of their background. Both of my boys attended this school and it has been a great beginning to their educational journey.

Our overall experience with this school has been amazing. Is it perfect? No, no school is but it’s about as close to perfect as I have ever seen! Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. Perticone, Ms. Welch, Mrs. Gant, Mrs. Sherer to name a few are among the best educators I’ve ever met.

Love the support and guidance provided to my son, particularly because he transferred to this school from Crofton Meadows, and was behind his peers in reading.

Very pleased with the quality education our son receives at this school. The school building itself is in need of updates, but the staff is truly professional and encouraging.

The support staff is a joke. My children had a problem with one particular student (bully). There were excuses made and the situation was swept under the rug. My kids stated the school nurse and counselor were a joke. When a school nurse thinks that blue magic marker is bruises that is a problem. When aal school counselor tells your children to deal with being picked on that is a problem. Terrible decision on my part to move to this county.

My children are smart they need to be challenged. This school doesn't offer that. My children started playing string instruments in 3rd grade at their previous school. Instrument instruction is limited to 5th grade and no strings program. WOW

I your kids haven't always lived here and your family doesn't have "roots". You are a "chicken necker" and and outsider. Sad place to go to school and to live.

Very poor. I would not recommend this outdated school in any fashion. Everything is bad including the pricey school meals. It's a shame when your kids beg to pack lunch because the food is burnt, or the milk is bad. Come on get it together! Make the kids a success!

I expect for my kids to have at least 30 minutes of homework. They get 10 to 15 minutes of reading per night. In our previous school we had spelling and math homework M-TH. Theu also were required to read 20 minutes per night. The assigned reading was a pleasant way to end our nights. In this school they have either No homework or 20 minutes of reading. Challenge our students. Help them to prepare for the future as a student. This method of no homework makes them lazy. Oh, BTW. My children are in sports and have chores.

I don't see my children learning anything new. Their previous school was obviously leaps and bounds above these schools.

Bayside Elementary School on Kent Island is an exceptional school. The teachers are caring, informed, and enthusiastic! They treat the students with respect and understanding. Academically challenging while maintaining a whole child balance with creative projects in-class and out-of-class. Walking down the halls or sitting with students in assemblies, I am very impressed with their special needs teachers and staff as well. There is a true sense of community for all students of all abilities, backgrounds, and income. We moved from Montgomery County and couldn't be more pleased with Queen Anne's County Public Schools.

This school has been heaven sent. We moved from PG County to Queen Annes at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. My daughter's grades have improved and do had her love for reading and school. Her teacher is the best and the staff genuinely care about the students.
