My son is now in the 2nd grade and doing exceptionally well. We have been at Holy Family since Pre-K. We have built a strong and productive learning relationship with the teachers, after care team, and staff. We are very excited about the schools STEM program and love seeing the classroom activities that support the STEM focus even in the Pre-K Classrooms. The Principal is very focused on the students success and knows all of her students personally. The school has before and after care from 6am-6pm. The parent and teacher association is also very active in creating a positive school environment. My son loves being are part of the Drama Club and the Choir. Holy Family Catholic School has been great for my family.

The school is absolutely wonderful! This is my daughter's first year and we were welcomed into the school just like family! The principal, teachers, and staff are amazing. The school's teachings are of very high standards from highly exceptional teachers with a strong work ethic. The school curriculum is of a high level of teaching standards that my child will be very well prepared for high school. The one thing I admire the most is that the teachers actually stay after school to help the children that may need a little extra help, and not suggesting tutors, but staying afterwards to help. This to me shows the true dedication of the teachers at the school. Everyone is caring and giving of themselves, and it rubs off on the children! Holy Family Catholic School is top-notch school, a lifetime investment for your child!

I have two children and have had them at Holy Family since 2011. I really enjoy the school - especially the small class sizes! The teachers are great and my children enjoy it. It is truly a FAMILY!

Holy Family has been a great school for my daughter. She started attending Holy Family at PK3 and is now a 5th grade student. Although we have moved further away, I decided to keep my child at Holy Family. The quality of education she has received cannot be matched. It is worth the additional travel time.

I just found out that Holy Family Catholic School outperformed Prince George's County and The State of Maryland on it standardized Math and Reading Scores for 3-8 Grades. Small class size, committed teachers and the "New Principle of the Year" for The Archdiocese of Washington are building a strong foundation for our children's success.

They have instituted a merit/demerit system for the children and bullying is NOT tolerated.

The school is Great! My child gets an excellent education, in a caring environment and he is happy

The children have a daily/weekly agenda that they record their homework in to help teach them responsibility. They are also very fair in the amount of homework that they give the children.

The teachers show in so many ways that they care about the well being of the children.

My daughter currently attends Holy Family. I must say they exceeded my expectations in education and nurturing of her young mind. All the students are very respectful and I know that's a reflection of the school and lessons they instill in them. I haven't had any issues with any of the staff; they're always so helpful and responsive. I plan to send my other daughter next year when she's of age. Holy Family was the best choice for an amazing education for my child. Small classroom size has been wonderful!

My boys attend this school and i really like the school. My oldest started kindergarten at this school and at the beginning of the school year my son had a really hard time adjusting. With the help of Ms. Belanger, Ms. Bishop, Mrs. Wyatt, and Ms. Spencer my son has transformed into an excellent student and now he really loves going to this school. My 4yr old attends now and they both are doing very well. Ms. Hemmer is amazing and she's on top of everything. Ms. Hawkins can be a bit intimidating but she her heart is with these kids and it shows. It's hard to read the bad reviews because i haven't experienced any negative issues with this school. I do agree with some of the comments about a make over but overall i'm please with Holy Family and would recommend this school to family/friends.

HFS is a mixed bag of good and bad. A lot of emphasis is placed on seemingly small things such as book covers, proper unifrom attire, and grooming. But its all in the interest of discipline. The principal is pretty high strung BUT she knows EACH of her students inside and out. I love her passion for their learning and I love how she welcomes your concerns and addresses them head on with the alleged guilty staff present. The school could use some updating. The turnover rate for the teachers is pretty high. But I think this is a good school for new little ones coming into the learning environment. The school is rather small so individualized attention is always given. This school has the potential to be great but I think that would entail moving away from things of the past....staff included. Unfortunately, being able to recruit and retain bright talent is limited due to salary constraints.

I am a former student who went to Holy Family in the 1980's. I can honestly say that they taught me how to write good papers. There was a strong emphasis on reading. That helped me throughout my life and gave me the foundations I needed. Glad to see the school is still open.

Teachers of the school have no patience for the children you received several phone calls for the little things never received any positive feedback from your childs teacher. the children are not challenged. I would not recommend the school for parents who care about the childs education or their future in education.

Poor teaching... The school is extremely outdated, books, computers, ... The school needs a complete turnaround.. Last year, teachers were not completely certified, this year's teachers have no patience for our kids.. IT IS SAD!! I would not recommend this school to anyone.

My child went to Holy Family for two years. I was very pleased with the curriculum and the teacher in the 3rd grade, but 4th grade was a huge disappointment. My child consistently talked to me about the things that the teachers were saying not only to her but also to other students. I found the comments to be disrespectful, inappropriate, and sometimes downright factually incorrect. I think the administration spends too much time tolerating those students with behavioral problems and ignored the students who strived to do well. There's an overall negative and tense atmosphere at the school and the teachers seem to be intimidated and too scared to speak out. I knew it was time to go when my child said to me "I don't know why they call this place Holy Family. There's nothing holy about it." Incidentally, my child is a straight A student at HFS, but when I went to remove my child from the school and place her elsewhere, she scored very poorly. What does that say about the academics?

I am currently a senior (8th gr.) and I honestly can say I STRONGLY DISLIKE this school. Many people like it, but I think that teachers don't even like it. They say we as students are disrespectful. And the principal even told us we were the worst 7 and 8 grade in her years of being principal. My class cant never learn anything because my teacher talks to much and puts everyone to sleep. We hardly use our textbooks exept in math English science social studies. Also they have mice. And they know it. The teachers are very disrespectful. Well not all of them. Shout out to MR. MERCER for being the best science teacher in the world and understanding us as children.

I attended Holy Family from Kindergarden - 8th grade. I didn't appreciate the school at the time but now I am grateful to the teachers and my parents for sending me there. During my tenure I couldn't stand having to wear uniforms, I felt like the school was out of date, stern and expected way to much out of the students. It wasn't until I visited the surrounding high schools and found that even as a struggling student in Holy Family, I was leaps and bounds ahead educationally from my public school counterparts. Holy Family prepared me for life. I made it through high school, college and graduate school and currently am fairly successful. Holy Family taught me life lessons and the people that I have met during my tenure at HF are the most positive, successful people that I have ever met in my life.
