We love SJS! The night before visiting other schools, I reached out last minute to request a tour, not knowing if they could fit us in. The Admissions Director immediately welcomed us. From the moment we arrived, everything changed. My husband and I prayed in the parking lot asking God for guidance, and we instantly felt a sense of peace. Even before stepping inside, I knew we were exactly where we were meant to be. The school felt like home right away, not just because of the strong academics, but because of the faith-filled, welcoming community. We left that day knowing without a doubt that SJS was where our boys belonged. We knew that choosing a Catholic education would be a sacrifice, but 4 years later our boys are thriving. Choosing to send our boys to SJS remains one of the best decisions weve ever made. Were so grateful for the teachers, administrators, and incredible community. If youre considering a Catholic school, I highly encourage you to come see St. Joseph School Fullerton.

If youre looking for a genuinely inclusive Catholic school community, this is unfortunately not it. The school presents itself online as warm and family-oriented, but the reality is a very different story. Unless you and your child fit into a very narrow social mold, youll quickly find yourselves on the outside looking in.

The parent culture is dominated by a mean moms club that sets the tone for much of the school community. Its cliquish, competitive, and unwelcoming. That attitude trickles down to the students, creating an environment where kindness and acceptance take a backseat to popularity and appearances.

Leadership doesnt help. The principal rarely considers parent perspectives and tends to dismiss concerns instead of working collaboratively. Families who try to raise legitimate issues often feel brushed off, which makes it difficult to believe the schools messaging about faith and community.

There is also very little understanding or support for children with ADHD or other learning differences. The lack of flexibility and compassion in this area has been one of the most discouraging parts of our experience.

Class sizes are large, and the energy of the school feels more focused on image than substance. The frequent social media posts about family, values, and obscure awards dont reflect the day-to-day reality.

In short, the schools reputation for being snobby and exclusive is, unfortunately, well-earned. There are some wonderful teachers doing their best, but until the leadership and parent culture change, its hard to recommend this environment for families seeking true community and Catholic values in action.

After sending our oldest child to Kindergarten and experiencing public school firsthand, we knew we needed to make the switch to our parish school, St. Joseph School Fullerton. The teachers, staff, and administration are like our second family. They are caring and friendly, knowledgeable in their subject areas, and make learning fun. SJS has gone above and beyond to ensure that our children are safe. There are clubs and sports offered for every interest, and students are most definitely prepared when they head off to high school. SJS is our home away from home. I can confidently say that 13 years later, SJS is still hands down the best decision weve made for our 3 children!

A couple years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My daughter would be going into 8th grade and my son into sixth. I wanted them to go somewhere that would give them the support they would need during this experience. I had always heard such wonderful things about St. Josephs of Fullerton and so I called and left a message. Within a half an hour I received a call back from Mrs. Corno. The compassion I heard in her voice on that initial phone call was all I needed to hear and I begged for my children to be accepted! She had shown more support in that phone call than I had ever received at the school my children were at prior. The difference at Saint Josephs is its a community of people who only want the best for all the students and their families. Mrs. Grace is a phenomenal example of one of those people. She made sure that my children were handling not only going to a new school but also my diagnosis. The curriculum is right on point and they have numerous clubs, band, choir, plays and sports teams that the kids really enjoy. The principal, Mrs. Ashby is outstanding as well. Shes is approachable and you actually see her interacting with the students on a daily basis!!! I truly cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience my family has had at Saint Josephs. I am very appreciative for all everyone has done to help my children with their education, mental wellbeing and spiritual development. Thank you Saint Josephs community for allowing my family to be apart of the Wolfpack community!

My overall experience at this school was good. I made lots of friends and most of my teachers were nice. There was a misunderstanding with another student one time that led us to both go to the principal office and the principal made me nervous which made me anxiously lie. Her face scared me and I told the truth. She called my parents and I could hear her calling me a liar. My mom lost her patience then and put her in her place. Never went back to the principal office again. No one likes to go see her. In 4th grade one of my friends parents made them stop talking to me because she realized we lived in a lower income community than them. But overall what made this school fun were the friends i made and the good teachers. But i think the school needs a different leader

Some teachers are great. Some not so much. My issue with the school was the problem with teachers coming and going every year. We finished up to 5th grade and made a better choice for Middle School. Another thing we notice were the cliques formed by the parents (moms) themselves. Luckily my kids never felt left out, but we knew many people from the school. A friend of mine had an awful experience with her child being left out. Also, the principal and Kindergarten teacher, which by the way, surprises me shes still there, are some of the most arrogant people Ive met.

This school expects way too much from 4-7 year olds. Unfortunately our family had to withdraw from this school after being called a few times to pick up our kindergartener from unnecessary situations for example, boys being boys during recess and no one being hurt. We got tired of it after 1st grade. We were middle class people and werent big on donations towards the school or church. That may have contribute to it. The school is very cliquey and only let certain moms into the group. We did not care one bit about being apart of the group, but its a shame the harm these cliques do to the childrenthe school is all about money and marketing now with the principal that took over.

Weve had the privilege of being part of this school community from PreK all the way through 8th grade, and I can honestly say its been an outstanding experience every step of the way. The teachers at every grade level are not only knowledgeable and dedicated, but they truly care about their students. You can feel the passion they bring to the classroom.

What really stands out is how well this school prepares students for high school. The academic foundation is solid, but just as important, the kids grow in confidence, responsibility, and kindness. Its the kind of environment where students are supported and challenged in all the right ways.

The staff is incredibly supportive, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the campus feels very safe and secure. Theres a strong sense of community here - everyone looks out for each other, and it shows.

If youre looking for a school that balances strong academics with a caring environment, this place is truly special. We feel lucky to be part of it.

St. Joseph School-Fullerton has been an incredible blessing for our family. From preschool through middle school, our experience has been nothing short of amazing. The teachers are dedicated, nurturing, and truly invested in each childs growthacademically, spiritually, and socially. The community is welcoming and supportive, creating an environment where students and families feel at home.

The curriculum is challenging yet balanced, and the emphasis on faith and values is woven beautifully into daily life. The extracurricular activities, like sports and clubs, allow students to explore their interests and build lifelong friendships. Watching my child grow into a confident, kind, and well-rounded individual has been the greatest reward. I am so grateful to be part of the St. Joseph School-Fullerton family and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a faith-filled and academically enriching school experience.

The new-ish principal is an unreasonable force to be reckoned with. Some families have had a good experience with her (for an unknown reason, maybe they make large donations to the school/church?) but the majority of them do not like her. If you have any concern or opinion about how she does things be prepared to be told no (though her brash approach is not consistent amongst families). With a new social media manager they constantly post on social media about all of the awards they are winning, trying to give families the warm and fuzzy about their choice to send their kids there. The reality however is that there is such a rapidly growing population of former and current parents very turned off by her rigid approach in running the school and her unwillingness to collaborate on most issues that I have lost count. I like many others pulled my kids from this school and it is a shame because outside of her, the school has a lot of potential (though not the blue ribbon school it once was, care to guess what staff turnover looks like?). Previous reviews mention or highlight the lack of support for special needs kids (IE kids with ADHD) and those concerns are real. There is a larger portion of grades who are no longer on a waitlist because of concerns about proper preparation for high school which really a good thing because class sizes are way too big (many grades have upwards of 30 kids per class with 2 classes per grade which becomes unmanageable for teachers.) If you have no opinions of your own and don't care if your child is being unfairly treated/singled out, SJS is the school for you.

Navigating the educational landscape for my child at this school has been a mixed experience. While many staff members, including the teachers and school therapist, are dedicated and skilled, the leadershipparticularly the principalraises serious concerns.

Prospective parents should research this school thoroughly before enrolling their children. The teachers and therapist strive to meet the needs of all students, especially those with learning challenges, and their commitment is commendable. However, the principals leadership style is troubling, especially in her approach to students with learning difficulties. Rather than fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment, she often seems dismissive and even punitive, creating a climate where students like my child feel unsupported and alienated.

The principals actions went beyond mere oversight, profoundly affecting my childs mental and emotional well-being. Her harsh and unsupportive behavior drained my childs confidence, leaving them demoralized. This environment has not only impacted my child but has also led to a culture where adherence to rigid rules is prioritized over personal growth and mutual respect.

Another significant issue is the large class sizes, which are disproportionate to the tuition costs. These overcrowded classrooms make it difficult for teachers to provide the personalized attention students need, further diminishing the quality of education and support.

After withdrawing my child from this school, I connected with other families who had similar experiences. Many had also withdrawn their children or were struggling to endure the situation, citing the same cold-hearted and ineffective leadership from the principal. This indicates that the problem is not isolated but widespread.

In summary, while the school has talented and caring staff, the principals leadership style, the schools rigid approach to conformity, and the overwhelming classroom sizes are significant drawbacks. If your child has specific learning needs or values individuality, these factors could greatly impact their overall experience at this school.

As a parent, I can confidently say that my child has received an exceptional education. The weekly Mass is a cherished tradition that helps instill strong Catholic values and a sense of community. The school offers different math and reading levels, ensuring that each student is appropriately challenged while still having fun.

What truly sets this school apart is the incredible campus community. From day one, you'll feel like part of a family. The staff, students, and other parents create a supportive and welcoming environment that makes the school experience truly special.

I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a place where their child can thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.

We could not be more pleased with St. Joseph School. As parents we have a choice to send our children to the school that best suits them. Our kiddos love the extracurricular activities like Chess Club and Drama Club. There is a choir and a school band. The athletic program offers a wide variety of sports. The campus itself is a gem. There is ample outdoor space complete with a playground and several athletic fields. The teachers truly care and communication with parents is impressive. We enjoy being a part of the SJS community and cannot imagine being anywhere else.

Worst kindergarten teacher, but heard from the inside that shes been in the system 20+ years so she has major supportNot for children with ADHD or special needs. The principal sat down with a group of others to come up with a plan to help whatever was bothering the school, which in my opinion was not at all that serious. They never followed through with their plan. Fast forward to the day we had to pull out to homeschool. Principal acted surprised and withdrawal process was the quickest and smoothest experience we had with that school.

Our family has a negative view of St. Joseph. The learning environment is better than most public schools, but the curriculum leaves a lot to be desired. Also, the school is always fundraising. I understand the necessity, but it is excessive. The school staff lacks diversity. The teaching staff is comprised of young, inexperienced teachers and seasoned teachers who are attempting to escape public schools. Overall, this school is not a good choice for students with learning differences or those who seek a challenging curriculum.

It appears as though most teachers are more concerned with pleasing the admin. rather than the academic advancement of students. The curriculum is not challenging. Parents are given the false impression that their child is doing well, but in comparison to other schools, they are not.

Well if you want your child to be rewarded well in this school, make sure you participate in their fundraising activities in a BIG way. The Principal will have your child so close to her heart that she'll put your child in a pedestal. Money changes everything in this school!

I'm a 7th grade student at St. Joseph Fullerton and it has a good learning enviroment. It is also located in a good enviroment. I can learn at my own pace. The teachers do a good job of teaching. I wish they had a cafeteria
