The Music teacher there has threatened teachers whom had children with her minor son. Two children have no father or child support as a result of the threat of revealing of the paedophilia. This woman hid two paedophiles to avoid child support payments to the extorted paedophile teachers. Don't allow your children near this person.

Our experience at a Christian school in the Annapolis area raises ongoing concerns related to academic quality, student culture, communication practices, and overall alignment with our family’s expectations. From an academic perspective, we observe variability in rigour, curriculum depth, and instructional structure. As students progress through the upper year levels, many do not appear to be consistently challenged or adequately prepared for demanding academic pathways. Expectations around college and career readiness lack clarity and consistency.
Standardised assessment outcomes and academic results remain a concern, with no clear indication that performance is strengthening year over year. Families question whether students are being sufficiently prepared to meet the expectations of other academically rigorous institutions. These concerns are evident across multiple year levels and contribute to anxiety about future transitions. Strengthening academic accountability and transparency would benefit both students and community confidence.
Student culture is an equally serious issue. Social dynamics associated with certain athletic groups—particularly at the junior varsity and varsity levels—extend beyond sporting environments and are visible within classrooms and daily school life. These dynamics often feel cliquish and exclusionary and contribute to an emotionally challenging environment.
Within the girls’ volleyball programme, team culture at both the JV and Varsity levels at times feels socially hierarchical and unwelcoming. When these patterns carry into classrooms, they undermine inclusivity and negatively affect student wellbeing. Although concerns are raised, intervention does not consistently result in sustained improvement.
Communication with families is another area of concern. Important meetings are frequently scheduled on Wednesday evenings. For many Christian families, Wednesday is a longstanding time for family devotion, Bible study, and church commitments, making meaningful participation difficult. While these meetings are intended to share updates, their timing limits engagement.
We also observe a shift in community support. Long-standing donor engagement appears to be declining, reflecting reduced confidence in the school’s direction and leadership. Taken together, these challenges lead us to reassess whether the environment aligns with our values and expectations for a structured, supportive, and faith-centred educational experience.

The choice of new principal for the SLS is a bismal. It's apparent she doesn't care and this is just a job. My child and many others have dealt with bullying the last couple of years with this current year being the worst. I plan to pull my both my kids out to go to another school next year. The school has lost heart. Tuition also continues to rise without additional resources for students.

Agree with the comments below. Although our child goes to Annapolis lower School, we plan to take them out unless us parents can petition for change. Tired of having or kid not treated as good because we don’t give gifts (Louis Vuitton) bags and other expensive gifts to the principal. Tired of the cash grab. I think if she were replaced, the school would be better. Maybe more experienced teachers would be hired too.

Bad experience. Teachers do not grade in time. By the time your child gets their grade for an assignment it’s weeks sometimes months later. The principal is inexperienced and does not follow Christ teachings. The world today needs Jesus more than ever.

We moved to Annapolis area with only 9 weeks left in the school year. AACS went above and beyond to help us get settled, the kids feel welcome, and to start this new chapter in Maryland. All of the kids new us by name when we arrived and made us feel like we had been a part from day one. The teachers truly care about your child and helping them to be the best they can be. They help each child to find their path in life while being themselves and striving for excellence. Having come from public school in the south - where the only concern is the academic rating of the school - my kids truly feel like they have mentors that are concerned about teaching them how to succeed in life....they are not a number when they go to school. AACS has impacted all of our lives in an incredible way. Finding AACS has made this move worth it!

Because it is a Christian school, this is part of the core values. They are not a school that merely has Christian in the name, but seek to be Christ centered throughout. The children are held accountable and consequences are not administered without full understanding of the implications of their behavior, so the children can LEARN from both poor choices and healthy choices , which ultimately builds honesty, integrity and fairness.

The teaches have a vested interest in the children both academically and spiritually. They have a passion to teach and want to see this children excel and be their best! The school is well run and very organized.

I will try to put into words how amazing this school is! This is my 2nd year at AACS and I have a son in kindergarten and daughter in 3rd grade. My husband and I had heard nothing but good things about the school, but as parents we wanted to be sure. I took the time to review the curriculum at the lower school and talk to the teachers and visit the classrooms before we were committed to anything. I wanted a Christian education for my kids, but I also wanted the best academic education for them, as any parent will say. This school has so much to offer. The teachers have exciting ways to involve students in hands on experiences to enrich and support classroom lessons. My daughter has told me, on more than one occasion "mommy, I don't ever want to go to another school". That, to me, is all that I needed to hear to know we had made the right decision. It really set in that this was the school for our family after attending one of the weekly chapel times. That is a moving experience, you have to experience that on your own to understand what I mean, and I highly recommend you come and sit in at chapel time! We pray everyday to thank God for allowing us to have access to AACS!

AACS has been an excellent choice for our son from kindergarten to the junior he is today. The faculty has consistently partnered with us to instill Christian values and nurture a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The excellent academics, arts and athletic opportunities are just icing on the cake. It is not heaven on earth and we did consider leaving in middle school. Our faith and perseverance have been rewarded. Looking back we realize that no school is immune to trouble and we have grown through the challenges. In the high school there have been great honors and AP classes to keep challenging our son. There are enough sports with the size of the school that no student is cut from making a team. The music and drama are pursued at the highest level with nearly 1/3 of the student body participating in this area. Students are able to be multisport athletes and be serious about the arts if they so choose. I would highly recommend this school to parents who earnestly want to have their child in a Christ centered learning environment with the opportunity to have diverse experiences.

This being of primary importance to us the excellent academics ,arts and athletics are an added bonus. It is not heaven on earth and we did consider leaving in middle school. Our faith and perseverance was rewarded. No school is immune to trouble but we all grew through the challenges. In high school we are grateful for the excellent honor and AP classes to keep our son challenged. The size of the school also allows students to be multisport athletes(there are no cuts for sports teams) and seriously pursue the arts if they so choose. I would highly recommend this school to parents who are earnestly seeking to have their child in a Christ centered learning environment with the diverse opportunities of arts and athletics.

The lower school's strict disciplinary policies makes the environment intolerable for children that have personalities. The school has potential but they need to allow the kids to be kids. If your school student has an introverted personality, this school is a good choice. If your child is an extrovert, keep looking. Some of the teachers will key in on your extroverted child and make your child's school life miserable. They need to create a more welcoming environment for new kids. The school is somewhat cliquish. I had to withdraw my kids after this term.

Our oldest has been at AACS for 9 years and will be starting HS next year. She and our two other children love AACS. The teachers are kind and supportive. The students are respectful. My children have all thrived academically and socially. AACS has helped my children mature spiritually and is preparing them for the real world challenges they will encounter regarding their faith. I highly recommend AACS!

I am a former graduate of AACS. I can say firsthand the classes and school environment were helpful for my academic career after graduating. The school environment is really what you decide to make it. With a student body of roughly 500 people, there are plenty of opportunities to make new relationships and build strong social networks. When I was a junior, I knew sixty percent of the students by name, and loved every day I was there. Most of the teachers I had were quite social and kind. In an academic sense, I will agree that due to tuition, the school ought to definitely make a strong effort to establish after school study programs for those academically challenged to improve their growth in learning. I'll say I struggled greatly at imes in this school( in regards to the classes), but was fortunate enough to persevere and succeed through my devotion to learning. Perhaps there is no perfect school, but I believe in the future of my former high school, and the drive to sustain the Chrisocentric message in everything they do. For whats its worth, I attended the Naval Academy Preparatory School ( NAPS), and am now currently enrolled in the United States Naval Academy.

I love the School, this is my son second year of middle school and we are looking foward to the high school next year. The eachers are excellent and the Academics are great,the students have lots personality and are very respectful and caring. You must check out this school......

The one problem I have with this school is that alot of the kids are brats and they don't act like Christians.
