As a Catholic school, we expected St. Mary’s School of Piscataway to model the values of compassion, honesty, respect, and integrity. Unfortunately, that was not our family’s experience.

The teachers were one of the school’s greatest strengths. Many genuinely cared about the students and worked hard every day. Sadly, our interactions with the administration told a different story.

Communication was inconsistent, concerns were not addressed in a transparent manner, and we often left conversations feeling unheard. During difficult situations, we expected openness and fairness but instead experienced frustration and disappointment.

We chose this school because we wanted our child to learn in a faith-based environment where Christian values would be reflected not only in the classroom, but also in the way families and staff were treated. Unfortunately, we did not feel those values were consistently demonstrated by the school’s leadership.

Our family has since moved on, and we are grateful to be in a healthier environment. I sincerely hope St. Mary’s takes the opportunity to reflect on how it communicates with and supports the families who place their trust in the school.

The teachers deserve recognition for the work they do, but leadership sets the culture of a school. Based on our family’s experience, I cannot recommend St. Mary’s School of Piscataway.

I would strongly recommend choosing a different school. In my experience, the teachers do not appear motivated or fully engaged, and the leadership seems more focused on field trips than on academics. Communication with parents is extremely poor, and there does not appear to be a clear curriculum preparing students for high school. Overall, the school feels disorganized and disappointing, and I would not recommend it to families looking for a strong educational

I have three children who attended St. Mary’s and I am very satisfied. When my younger two were bullied at Accokeek Academy, St. Mary’s welcomed them mid year with open arms and provided a stable and nurturing environment. My oldest graduated last year and is academically thriving at His high school. The preparation for the HSPT, writing skills and research and critical thinking skills obtained from Science and English were invaluable. My son is writing on a college level thanks to the fundamentals taught from the staff at St. Mary’s. His grades are proof that the kids are well prepared for the challenges of high school. My third grader who has learning difficulties is reading on grade level thanks to the accelerated math program and the growth that I have seen in his development is why I stay. My daughter has excelled and just this summer was nominated to attend a STEM camp. She has come to love Science and math thanks to the wonderful teachers at this school!

It is rather difficult to entrust your child's care with someone you barely know. With the St Mary's of Piscataway school you get a sense of comfort. Not only that but we moved alot due to being in the military and this school is the first school my child has been okay going into. She gets excited and enjoys her learning environment. I suggest this school their curriculum is extraordinary, their personnel is the most friendliest we have yet to encounter. I hope to stick with this school as long as possible.

The teachers ensure that your child is being taken care of while in their care.

St Mary's of Piscataway is an amazing school. The administration and faculty are dedicated to the students and the parents beyond what you could hope for. The administration is approachable and receptive to questions and always willing to provide support and assistance. They are astoundingly organized and run a tight ship. The teachers provide an abundance of communication about your child's learning, and their behavior. We have two children at this school, and our children are excelling academically in all areas. The accelerated reading program teaches your child not just how to read but how to comprehend. The accelerated math also orients your child to the fundamentals required for grade-level math, allowing your child to advance upon mastering the preceding level. The school does teach your child test-taking skills orienting them to academic expectations to come. However, the children perform at a level that is suitable for them individually, and you don't get the pressure for them to move along at an impractical speed with the common core expectations happening in the public schools. Your child also gets a well-rounded education at St Mary's with subjects that are being deemphasized in the public schools like art, social studies, science, and PE. We love the close knit structure of the school and enjoy associating with other parents who are dedicated to their children and school. There is wonderful camaraderie among the children all the way from 8th grade to Pre-Kindergarten. The children all know each other, and the upper class students are given responsibilities in assisting with the school. The school offers everything you would want for child's school-age years, giving peace of mind and delight for the parents.

Great place of learning for our child. Some of the facilities are dated and there is a lot of focus on fundraising but the results speak for themselves. Our child learned to read quickly and is much better behaved after one year here. The teachers are great.

Like the previous parent, I have found St. Mary's to be a great school for my children. The teachers in the school really care about their students. The principal goes above and beyond for her families and her students. The academics are solid and my children have made many friends at the school. They always make you feel welcome and I would definitely recommend this school to others.

St. Mary's has been a wonderful place for my children to learn and to grow academically and spiritually. The teachers at the school are dedicated to their students. They are caring and have the best interest of their students in mind. The principal is extremely dedicated and spends tireless hours working to ensure that her faculty, staff, parents, and especially the students have exactly what they need to be successful. She is always available to discuss any issues that you might have and works with you to find a resolution. The teachers and the principal also communicate well with the parents about their students and the events that are happening in the school. The atmosphere at the school is one of a loving and caring environment and you definitely find a sense of community and a spirit that you won't find many other places. I would certainly recommend this school to anyone that is interested in finding a welcoming and friendly environment and to someone looking for a school where your child is safe, happy, and growing academically and spiritually.

I love St. Mary because, St. Mary loves me. I love the warm and friendly welcome from the principal, the parents and most of the teachers. But most of all I love the friends that my daughter has made in the last 2 yrs of being there. She has changed in a major way. It is a small school and small classes, I believe she learns better this way. As long as I can afford to send Zaria to St. Mary she will continue to go, because they have been a blessing to the both of us in so many ways.
