My children have flourished both academically and emotionally at SJF. Their experience with teachers, administration and peers has always been positive even during those rough middle schools years. Two of my children are now off to high school with fond memories of caring, proactive teachers and a level of preparation that has awarded them scholarships and honors classes. SJF was once rumored to be closing but with full classes and a state certified pre-K program the enrollment has risen. SKF certainly has been an important part of the community for over 70 years now. Dont listen to negative unfounded comments. We love our #sjfonefamily!

SJF is a shell if its former self, sadly. The preschool program is substandard. The classroom is dominated by a big screen tv which is ALWAYS on, often with news or other programming chosen by staff. Children are frequently parked in a group in front of the tv. The room is dirty and the childrens diapers are changed on tables in the middle of the room. The staff definitely spends more time talking to each other about what they are going to have for lunch that day than interacting with the children. Its a chaotic environment.

There are much, much, much better options in the local area. This school has been declining for years, and it surprises me greatly that it is still open.

Horrible Principle !!! Not parent friendly at all ! Tuition is high my daughter was there for 3 years and still could not read . I sent her to public school and she was reading within 3 months .. Need better teachers and better administrative staff s/ w the Archdioceses in Baltimore and they did not seem to care as long as the tuition was paid

With both of my children attending St. Jane's we have had so many wonderful experiences. The staff really seems to care about the kids and not just test scores. Their approach to learning really works for my kids and the class sizes are wonderful. I feel as if the kids get the help and attention they need to do well. Would recommend this to anyone.

St. Jane has done wonders for my family. My daughter has become an avid reader through the guidance of the wonderful teachers at St. Jane. She learned how to read in Kindergarten with the fun SuperKids characters instead of some boring beginner reader programs. Now that she is a middle school student she enjoys learning the skills she needs by reading books she enjoys. St. Jane has motivated her to read which has increased her comprehension and has helped her in all her other subjects.

The staff at St Jane's obviously care so much about all of the students. The Superkids program for reading is really fun and my child has enjoyed learning about the characters while reading the books all throughout elementary school. The class sizes are small but that is one of the reasons we picked the school.

This is a great place to be. The curriculum has changed a bit to include STEM across all of the subjects. My son had such a good experience today with his science experiments that I am thrilled that he is getting so much out it.

I have just graduated from St. Jane this year. Our class received over $150,000 scholarships to high schools. I will really miss St. Jane. I always felt safe and cared for there. The teachers all knew our names and were always willing to help us. I learned so much through my 8 years there. I will truly miss you St. Jane One of your students.

St. Jane is a great school. The teachers are very caring and dedicated. My kids love it. They enjoy all of the extra curricular activities. I help out a lot at the school and the new principal is very dedicated.

We love SJF. It has been a wonderful place to send my children to each day. They are safe, happy and learning.

St. Jane Frances is a great school! The teachers go above and beyond the call of duty in the classrooms to teach their students and the students have fun doing so.

Faith centered school with small class sizes that cares about the development of the whole child; mind body and soul.

I have four children who attend this school. What a great place to see them thrive. They are challenged academically and morally each day. The teachers are caring, and invested in the education of the students.

I LOVE OUR SCHOOL. MY DAUGHTER IS IN THE 4TH GRADE AND MY SON STARTS PRE-K 4 IN SEPTEMBER AND WE LOVE ALL THE ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS THE TEACHER INVOLVEMENT. THERE ARE SOME REALLY AWESOME PARENTS AND CHILDREN THAT GET TO INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER.

St. Janes is great. My kids love going to school everyday. The teachers really care about the kids.

I have ALWAYS been satisfied and pleased with St. Jane Frances School. My two children graduated from St. Jane and I am so grateful for that opportunity. The faculty was always helpful and caring. I felt they genuinely cared for the well being of my children. The school and staff are surrounded by a loving community. I seen many acts of kindness and helping others in need. I would not have changed a thing!

I am excited to start a new year at St. Jane Frances School. Despite and contrary to some of the less than enthusiastic reviews, parents would be hard pressed to find another elementary school, private or public, in our area that offers the quality education that St. Jane's does. Every year we hear from our kids who have graduated, and they tell us how well they are doing; many of them place in the higher level classes, and because of the foundation they received at SJF, they are well prepared for high school. I am looking forward to helping to build an even better St. Jane Frances in the years ahead.

School is financially sound. It's the pastor that refuses to cooperate. Don't expect it to open this fall. They're losing students in droves.

I must inject a cautious voice to those considering this school for their kids. Prior years were financially weak, recent years had new leadership but carried over a lot of existing staff, and coming years will need a new principal again. While my child was a solid high achiever, our expectations (made obvious to leadership and staff) were high. Rather than rise to the challenge, the staff and leadership chose to use petty tactics to punish us through our child. Being placed in low-tier classes, receiving arbitrary and poor "personal" evaluations when there was no objective basis, and catching the staff lying to us about these matters. All in all, they failed the sniff test. Something needed to, but didn't, change with the new principal. I'm also concerned some of these two-line reviews are faked. They were all entered around the same date. Buyer beware.

If your child has any kind of disability (adhd, autism, behavioral) this school will not help you. The principal is very fake and does not care about your child. She will act like she wants to help, but it the long run will only hurt matetrs. She also requests personnal medical documents that she has no right to ask for by law. If you do not provide them she WILL let your kid go from this school. The pre-K 3 program is a JOKE and a HUGE waste of money, the kids run around like a pack of animals more than learn. The daycare is a joke and the staff is immature.

Tremendous middle school faculty. Math and English teachers are very very effective at getting the students ready for a high school curriculum. Social Studies teacher enables/encourages the students to think/act globally. STEM program being integrated into the curriculum. SJF has recently received grants to add teaching technology to the classrooms. 2nd of 2 children graduating in May 2011. Both have earned partial scholarships to Catholic high schools. 1st child was more prepared for high school math than most of her HS classmates.. The facilities are old but well-maintained. New windows were added in each classroom in recent years. SJF is the two time defending champion of The Catholic High School of Baltimore's Math Olympiad. In the past two years, four girls have won full four-year scholarships to TCHS. Knott Scholarships have been awarded to SJF students in 2010 and 2011. My only disappointment is that Spanish is not offered as a core class. It's only offered as a "special" class.

Newly Improved Great Quality School, Safe Loving Environment.... Two children went through St Jane Frances school, currently have a child in 7th, and another who graduated last year, now a well prepared 9th grader who received a partial scholarship to HS. We've been at St. Jane Frances for over 11 years, we've seen many changes to the school, but the last three years have been a privilege to be a part of. New principal made some changes that hurt in the beginning, it was scary, but over time the school is growing, excelling in Math, Sciences, Technology, English. Drug free/non bullying program, well behaved, well adjusted students. New STEM program started this year, with a full curriculum planned for the Fall 2011. Grants received to advance technology, software, and equipment. Quality of teaching is phenomenal. My 9th grader so advanced over her fellow students in writing, vocab, and grammar, direct impact from St. Jane s teaching. Nothing but positive things to say. I am proud be a parent at St. Jane Frances school and proud that my son will be able to share in these advancements his 8th grade year, hands down one of the top elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

St Jane is a small school that gives your child a lot of personal attention. The technology is amazing and the advances in math and science are far above other local schools. They were just selected as a STEM school and received a large grant to further imporve the technology, math and science departments. The students will benefit from the new computers and STEM curriculms. In the past two years, 2 Knott Scholars were named from St. Jane. The teachers are very dedicated to the children. I believe we have an exciting future at this school.

Both of my kids attended St. Jane from Pre-K through 8th grade. I am still involved with the school and if I had more kids, they would be attending St. Jane! This is a great school with a family atmosphere.

My kids were very well prepared for Catholic high schools after attending St. Jane. There have been very positive remarks from the high school math teachers about St. Jane students and how well prepared they are.

I cannot express my extreme happiness in St Jane Frances. We moved from out of state and enrolled in 2008. We have had nothing but positive experiences from the school. The teachers are dedicated and encouraging to every child. The STEM program in the middle school is beyond compare. Even children in the Pre-K class are getting STEM and Spanish. The administrative staff is always accessible and willing to listen. The Catholic faith is taught everyday, not only in a classroom, but by the actions of the teachers, administators and children. I would recommend St. Jane Frances to anyone. From reading the other comments, maybe a change was what this wonderful school needed.

What a great Catholic education. The middle school teachers can't be compared to any others. They are unbelievable. The lower grades are just as fantastic. I would enroll both of children again in a heartbeat.

Many of these ratings were made years ago by what may have been disgruntled parents after the financial shake-up when we found out that many were not being required to pay their full share of tuition. Our children have been attending school at St. Janes since 2003 and the quality of education has improved. They have a state of the art science lab and computer room. The teachers are caring and challenge students to do their best. It is a struggle to pay the tuition, but we make sacrifices and feel that it is in our children's and communities best interest to send our children to this wonderful school.
