I have been a parent of Quality Time for about 8 years. My daughter attended the daycare from 2 years old until the pandemic and now my son is 4 in the PreK program. I consider Quality Time a part of the family. Considering that my daughter is now 10 and I still remember all of her teachers, this place has truly made an impact in our lives. She's had a strong academic journey thanks to the amazing start at this center. Since leaving this center, my daughter has excelled academically and continues to be at the top of her class. My son is also doing well. I will be sad the day that I have to say goodbye this part of our chapter.

My husband was enrolled here when he was younger and is still friends with folks he met here. When we had our child, we searched for a daycare with specific criteria in mind. I was apprehensive about this place at first due to the location. However, after meeting Dr. Crump and touring the center, I decided to give this place a try. I am beyond pleased with that decision. If youre looking for a place that emphasizes education, child development, administration involvement, parent engagement, safety, and most importantly discipline, this is for you.

We have a two year old who has been at QTLC since he was 16 weeks old. We cannot speak more highly about our experience. The teachers are so loving, kind, caring and have played a huge role helping us instill routine, discipline, and lots of active learning. The administrators are professional, responsive, and helpful. Every day we drop our son off, we know he is in loving care, safe, and in an environment that facilitates learning from the start. Id also be remiss if I didnt mention that tuition is extremely competitive relative to far costlier options in the area, all with a staff that has received the top marks by Maryland regulators.

I highly recommend this school for all the good reasons. They delivered as promised! Our son went from being nervous about attending school to loving school - thanks to the amazing learning environment that Quality Time Learning Center (QTLC) creates for children. The school came highly recommended by parents whose kids (most who are now teenagers) attended QTLC. The word of mouth testimony from these different sources convinced us to give it a try and we are glad that we did! Our son did learn and grow a lot! He was always excited about his teachers (Mrs. Creek and Ms Amy) and classmates. He transitioned into Kindergarten this Summer and we are excited to see him put into practice all that he learned here (QTLCs curriculum is more advanced). We are still in touch with some of his classmates and their parents from Pre- K - thanks to the friendships cultivated here. Throughout our time at QTLC, the administrative staff and classroom teachers were very friendly and responsive. We really appreciate Mr. Crump and all the team members at QTLC. Honest review:

This is one of most unorganized and dishonest centers I have ever stepped foot In. The lack of compassion and empathy is appalling and unacceptable. The leadership team do not have a clear method of communication amongst their staff and lack accountability. The owner and center director are not on the same page and seem to be more focused on their personally feelings than improving and bettering their center. They need to seriously reevaluate their systems and adopt a new approach. I do not recommend this to anyone!

Quality Time Early Learning Center is a GREAT choice for your child to attend. My daughter(Zaya) started at Quality Time at the age of 1 year of age and went there until she graduated from Kindergarten. I was/am well pleased with the school. My daughter is now in the 2nd grade and she is excelling in all of her classes thanks to Quality Time teaching them at a young age. Even though she started at 1 year of age they even then taught them educational things. They also taught them ahead of their grade level which I loved! I love the staff there because it was more than just "teachers and staff" but it's so close knit it's more like family.

Very convenient hours! I appreciated how they opened early and closed late. They were also open during snow and certain holidays. They are a good value. Excellent care for a reasonable cost.

All three of my children have attended QTLC. Their curriculum is far above any other day care. My husband and I loved it so much that we kept both our daughters there for Kindergarten and plan to do the same for our son. Our oldest daughter is in the third grade and has continued to stay above grade level and get straight As. QTLC builds the strong foundation every child needs to be successful both academically and socially.

Two boys matriculated through QTLC, oldest was there from 2yo through Kindergarten. Youngest is currently enrolled and will be there for as long as he can be. It's like sending them to an HBCU as an elementary school.

They don't play games when it comes to educating and providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children. At times you may feel like the kids are more of a priority than you as a parent, that's fine with me. The administration and teachers have always treated me with respect and courtesy; they will let you know what's in the best interest for your child, whether you want to hear it or not.

Their standard curriculum for your child will be one year ahead of the rest of the region... so my oldest son came out of the school leaps and bounds ahead of his peers...some of his friends went to public school and their families had to fight for more advanced work to stimulate their children...

If you care about the quality of education and genuine commitment from administration and staff to care for and guide your young child, then this is the place. My wife and I tell other black parents that it's the 'hidden gem' of Silver Spring....

I hesitated writing reviews for this place for years just so I can selfishly guarantee myself a spot for the following year........

Excellent! I can not say enough great things about this school. The teachers are amazing. They make learning fun. My son adores Mr Chris and Ms Creek. My 20 month old loves Ms Nani and Ms Antonnette. I was skeptical after reading some reviews, but having experienced it for myself, I am so glad we chose Quality Time. You won't be disappointed.

Ive had three children at QTLC, and overall Id say our experience has been very positive. While the administration is at times rather prickly, my children have had fantastic teachers and they enjoy their time there, and that is really what matters most. For instance, Ms. Etse, Ms. Jochebed, and Ms. Pearl truly exemplify the balance of fun, firmness, warmth, calmness, and cheerful positivity that we aspire to as parents. And while the curriculum for the preschool group (3+) is at the same time a bit too academic and a bit too technology-saturated for my tastes, Im very pleased that my kids have developed a true love for learning. Highly reccommend.

Both of my children attend Quality Time, my daughter for the past 4 years and my son for the past 2. We have continued to send our children to QT because of the wonderful teachers and staff, and their dedication to quality care and education. I cannot say enough good things about the people who have taken care of my children at QT over the years, loving them as their own. This is my son second year going to the school and we have been more than satisfied with his teachers both years. Last year he had Ms. Etsy and Ms. LaKeisha and this year he has Mr. Chris and Ms. Creek. I feel the teachers this year communicate daily about his progress and/or behavior. The teachers are on the same page with what they are telling either me or his dad. They are just a great team together. I have never seen them disagree or argue in front of their class and that speaks a lot. My son loves both his teachers and is exciting everyday when he gets to see them!

My daughter has been at QTLC since the age of 2. The biggest asset of the center are its teachers.
She's had the privilege of having Ms. Etse in pre-K 3. Ms. Etse was nurturing but firm. Now in pre-K 4 , she as a dedicated and hard working teacher in Ms. Suman. The assistant- teacher Ms. Jochabed is a GEM. Both genuinely care for the students.
I think QTLC needs to work more on meeting each child where they are, but, in general, it will provide your child with a good foundation.
Also rules and policies need to be more effectively communicated.
The administration is responsive to parental concerns.

Our son is in his 2nd year and is now in the pre-K 4's. Love his teachers and the work they have done with his increased vocabulary and focus. He loves the school, his teachers and his classmates. My daughter has been at Quality Time for almost a year now and we love it so far. She started in the 3 year old class and is now in Pre-K. She reads very well and is great at math. She constantly amazes me! She loves her teachers Mr Chris and Ms Creek. I like how involved they are and they show genuine interest and concern.

Quality Time is Amazing ... Mrs Suman is a teacher you will never forget, my son has grown so much in socialization skills and he is reading and spelling on a first grade level. Ms Jochebed is also very loving and passionate. I highly recommend this school.

My daughter started school for the first time ever when she was three at quality time. She had not been exposed to other kids or people aside from family. Quality Time teachers were able to help her adjust very quickly. She is now in the Pre-K class and they are reading, writing, and giving presentations. Ms. Suman challenges the kids in a positive way. I'm very impressed and happy with the curriculum.

Our son has been at QTLC in the infant room since he was 12 weeks old (he's now 9 months) and we truly cannot imagine finding a more loving and caring environment for him. The teachers in the infant room obviously enjoy taking great care of the children. We also appreciate their creative ideas for parent engagement, including Halloween pumpkin painting and Valentine's Day songs, playtime, and handprint crafts. We look forward to learning baby sign language along with them as well. The office staff is pleasant and enforces the rules to keep the center running smoothly. Thank you QTLC for being such a wonderful part of our family!

Our child attended Quality Time for the 3-4 year old group, and is now in the PreK class. The teachers are friendly and very involved in the education of the children. The curriculum is fast-paced, which can be either good or bad depending on your child's needs and abilities. The uniform policy is far too strict in my opinion, with regard to sock color, etc. The leadership is becoming a bit more personable, which was a needed change. I am overall pleased with the facility.

My son has been going to Quality Time Learning Center for the past 2 years now. The staff is AMAZING the way they nurture and care for my 4 year old is excellent! Five stars across the board. My daughter will be coming of age soon, and she too will attend. I know she'll love it just as much as my son does.

This school has been wonderful for all 3 of my children (the oldest is 14 now and attended many years ago). My youngest daughter is in the 4 year old program and I am very happy with how much she has learned already! Her teachers are very caring and take time to help her one on one if needed. I actually really like the uniforms since it is easier to get her ready in the morning. My 9 year old will be attending their GREAT summer camp again this year. He had so much fun last summer and he can't wait to go back! I love QTLC hours because they work perfectly for my work schedule. Thank you QTLC!

The children wear uniforms so that creates less stress on my finances and easier with getting my little one dressed in the morning. The staff seem to really have a passion for what they do. I have my child's teacher personal cell number so I'm able to get in contact with her and vice versa.

The 3yr olds have projects every quarter that allow the parents, children, and teachers to communicate with each other. Homework is sent on a weekly basis which reinforces what they're learning in the classroom.

My only real hang-up is nap time. It's too long!

My daughter graduated from QT in 2015, after having started when she was 2 years old. My son will be in the Pre-K class in the fall and has been there since he was 7 months old. I would (and have to a number of people) recommend QT to any family looking for a caring environment, knowledgeable staff, and a strong curriculum. Any questions or issues I've had, they have been immediately responded to. As an educator myself, I know what goes into building a strong school culture and a rigorous program. I have been very pleased with my kids' education. My daughter began 1st grade in Montgomery County this year and is reading at a 4th grade level and doing Math at a 3rd grade level. She asks to come back to visit often and definitely misses the family she made while there. Mr. Crump, his sons, Brian and David, and Ms. Cortinzia treat families with respect and honor our children. I also want to give special recognition to the following teachers who have been a highlight to our experience: Ms. Hall, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Sheila, Ms. Suman, Ms. Etsy, Ms. LaKeisha, Ms. Perrier, and Ms. DeeDee. QT is a family environment that is reasonably priced, safe, caring, and implements a rigorous instructional program. Both of my children thoroughly enjoy going to school and never want to leave in the afternoons when I pick them up! I will miss QT when my son finishes Pre-K this year!

I have had 3 children attend Quality Time. My daughter son attended Quality Time from 8 months all the way through Kindergarten. The care and love my son received while there was second to none. I feel that they do offer a great price for the services that we received. I do also agree with the last post in that I'm wondering why some parents just refuse to adhere to policies and procedures. QT also has shown support to our family and for that we are also thankful to the owner, staff, and admin. QT has an excellent academic program and my son even tested 4th grade reading level and 5th grade math and is now in all honors classes that was imbedded and learned at Quality Time. My daughter is now at QT and the same love, care and consideration is still show every day. The center is clean, kept up, and they maintain to upgrade facilities each year. I would highly suggest this center to all.

My daughter attended Quality Time from 2 years old through kindergarten. The love my daughter received from the staff over the years has truly been a blessing. Yes i agree the rules are enforced here. After reading many of the reviews, i am wondering why some parents just refuse to adhere to policies and procedures. Quality Time has show support to family during our times of need, and for that I am truly thankful to the owner.
To people who say that the school administration and owner aren't knowledgeable, the school has been open 27 years now.....

But I would like to end this review with how great the academic program is at Quality Time. My Child tested on the a 5th grade math and reading level on her standardized test in KINDERGARTEN!!!!!! That could not have been possible, if it wasn't for the academic program at Quality Time. I would recommend this to any serious parent who doesn't have problems following general policies and procedures.

QTLC is fine as a daycare; not fancy but also not as ridiculously overpriced as the rest of the DMV area. I have been sending my daughter here since she was an infant (now 2 y.o.) and I've always felt she was safe and treated well. However, I wouldn't send her here for actual school. The facilities and branding need an upgrade, communications need improvement and professionalization, and teaching quality needs a bit more consistency.

They only care about money. The close way too much. The owner is rude, the people are not knowledgeable. Worst daycare I have ever had my children attend. Teachers are great, but the management staff and owners need to be replaced.

My son was enrolled in this school and had the worst experience. The Leadership have no idea about educating children. He makes random nonsensical rules about uniforms, color of shoes, shoelaces, and many other non education related nonsense for 3 and 4 year olds.
Overall, owner is unprofessional, rude to women, school smells bad, leadership seriously lacks training in education management

Staff is friendly at times. The owner is horrible rude and inappropriate. I can't speak for the school as my child was in the afterschool program which is horrible!! There is nothing designed to appropriately meet the needs of school aged children. I had no choice but to pull my child out! Sadly there is barely any other after school programs in the area some parents have no choice.

My son attended Quality Time Early Learning Center in kindergarten and first grade. When we enrolled him in the school, he knew his alphabet and could identify words, but wasn't yet reading like the other kids in the class were. Not only did the teacher work with my son, but he excelled in this school, and soon was at the top of his class. When he left and went on to another private school (which I did not like), and on to public schools, he was light years ahead of the other kids because of the start that he got in QTELC. My son graduated from high school this year (class of 2014), and I am still grateful for the education and care that he received at this school. Did I mention that the teachers were wonderful?!

I really believe the positive reviews are fake. My son went to this school for a year and a half and yes, the staff and management are horrible. One morning I dropped my son off and heard one of the teachers telling the kids to clean up. As the kids procrastinated and scattered to other areas of the room, she says "yeah, now y'all scatter like roaches!" She had no idea I was in the other room listening. That is just one example of the inappropriate and lazy attitude of staff and management. And yes, it does smell bad. And no, not all schools do! He stayed as long as he did because his actual teachers were nice to him. I got him out as soon as I found a better option.

My son attended Quality Time from age 2yrs old through Kindergarten. The teachers are great and work to bring out the best in each child. The curriculum is excellent and one of the best for the various age groups that the school serves. Because of the advance and challenging curriculum, the kids in kindergarten take the standardized test. My son was well prepared for elementary school after leaving Quality Time and now attends private school and has been on the honor roll for the past three years. I would recommend this school to any parent who is looking for quality child care in a warm environment with state of the art technology and a challenging curriculum. Excellent school!

Quality Time gave my son a great start in school. His PreK-3 and PreK-4 teachers, especially, were talented, dedicated professionals. By the time my son started public kindergarten, he was well ahead of his peer group. Some people criticize academic rigor at too young of an age--but my son was always so happy there. I think Quality Time's operation as a business could use a bit of improvement, along with communication. But I keep coming back to my son being safe, always happy to be there, and well prepared for moving on in school.

I'd like to first start off by saying some of the bad reviews this school recieved are unwarranted and make no sense what so ever. ( the school smells bad) Well I got news for you kids use the bathroom. #$%* happens, you can go to any other day care or early learning facility and find that same smell. That just says even more about the techers who change the children. Its normal. Secondly when camparing a quality advanced cirriculum vs fees your not going to find a better school in the area for the price. It drives me crazy when people talk about everything else but education. I have 3 girls that attend QTELC and a 7 year old that is there for the summer program and recently enrolled in public schools. (I'll just say too bad QTELC don't have a 1st grade.) In closing I plan on sending all of my kids here. I recommend you do the same if you want your kids to have a quality foundation in regards to reading and writing with a smooth transition into elementary school.

Quality Time Learning Center is a the best preschool in the area. After 2 weeks of scouting childcare centers, we choose Quality Time Early Learning Center. It was one of the best decisions of our lives. The warmth of the staff, education, and cleanliness were the deal breakers. Your child is taken care as if you had never left to drop him off. Our son became acclimated very quickly and gained social skills. Most importantly, Quality Time Learning Center afforded our son a superior education. He was pushed beyond his potential. The teachers made learning fun and relevant. The teachers made him an independent thinker. He gained the necessary skills that helped him mature and fulfill his young curiosity. Our son went to elementary school more than prepared. He was immediately put into honors classes and excelled. QTELC provided safe recreation activities for growing young muscles, stabilization and sportsmanship. Also, QTELC took the kids on relevant field trips to develop young growing minds. The learning development that QTELC provides is in a class by itself, you won t be disappointed. We are forever grateful to Quality Time Early Learning Center.

Both my sons attended the day care and school from infants (3 months each). I had a positive experience and was please with the level of education provided as well as the caring and safe atmosphere. I liked that the school exposed the children to a level of educational rigor early, but kept it paced at the level of learning for each individual child. One of my sons completed high school this year and will be going to college in Fall 2014; the other is entering his junior year of high school. They have both experienced academic success in Montgomery County public schools and I believe it is because of the educational foundation they received at QTELC.

My 2 children last attended in 2005, one thru 2nd grade and the other thru kindergarten. Both started at 6 months old. They were well prepared for Gift and Talented classes in Montgomery County Public Schools and the oldest will now be attending college, as an Engineering major.

My daughter started QTELC when she was 2 yrs old and she is now 7. She had been a home daycare and contemplated moving her to a center so early but I must say it was one of the best decisions I made. Within 2 weeks Ms. Shelia had her potty trained and doing things out of the ordinary. She moved on to the 3yr old class with Ms. Katrina and progressed so fast I couldn't believe how she speaking, writing, and communicating to others. Their curriculum is hands down a great curriculum. At age 3, my daughter was doing things the average 4 yr old would do. I remember her last day at QTELC, I spoke with Ms. Katrina and she said something that stuck with me to this day. She said "you need to make sure you put her in a place that is going to challenge her or she will get bored". At age 7, this still remains true. My daughter was accepted in the Talented and Gifted program in PG County, she is a straight A student, and reading above grade level. Without the initial teaching, love, and commitment from the teachers at QTELC, I don't think she would be where she is now and for that I am forever grateful.

Quality Time Learning Center is an EXCELLENT school and it isn't just my opinion. The academic scores speak for themselves! The administration has developed a curriculum that challenges the kids without overstretching their capabilities. They are learning well beyond their average and incorporating technology (through use of the interactive Promethean board). For the 2014-2015 academic year, each child will learn using their own tablet in addition to fundamental skills of handwriting, floor time, Spanish and music classes, homework, imaginative and physical play. They also attend field trips. There is encouraging support for the parent teacher organization and administration to work cooperatively, and the staff always supports personal involvement in your child's schooling. The staff is also extremely sensitive each family's concerns, at least I can attest to that. I would not change anything. I am so gald that I found Quality Time. My only regret is that I enrolled my son at 18 months instead of age 3 when I found them by chance. I recommend them to anyone.

This is my first ever post to review a service or product. I felt I should after reading some of these reviews. Simply put, the teachers are great! Your child should progress just fine, which trumps the fact you have to deal with the owner and sons. They do a poor job managing parents expectation on the backend $$$. Its like signing a contract with someone, and all the hidden fees soon appear. They claim their adminstration process is flawless, so if your situation is at odds with them, be prepared to receive an attitude to go jump off a cliff. I'm a parent, customer and not a sensitive type, but I appreciate not having to feel like it's me vs. them. BUT, my little one progress is whats important.

Positive: it is a safe environment for children, the teachers are really dedicated to teaching. QTLC really does well with incorporating technology with learning. Overall, it is a good school. Negative: fees, they love to add fees tell you at the last moment without any alternatives. Next, they push an advance curriculum on kids which not a bad thing, but for children who are still learning the basics it can be overwhelming. The administrators of the school, at times they push technology so much, they loose focus on the basics, teaching the kids. Last min policy changes and more fees. It can be a turn off

As a parent, I am surprised at the OUTRAGEOUS comments on some of these posts. My child has attended Quality Time since two years old. The quality of the education level is second to none in the area. Their kindergarten classes general score in the top %5 of the country. Also recently they added Promethean Smart Boards into the classroom and began to use a new Digital Curriculum. I would challenge and parent to tell me where my child will have a Smart interactive board in their classroom, being used solely to instruct! Also all these post about fees..... yes the school had fees in the past, however they have recently done away with ALL OF THE FEES. ( I REPEAT THERE ARE NO MORE FEES) It saddens me that a school of this caliber would receive so much scrutiny over monetary issues, and I do realize that we all have our personal issues. But COME ON Parents!!!!! If your child attends QTLC then they go to one of the top PRIVATE schools in the area that provides arguably the best educational experience for children at competitive prices ( I've checked around myself). Please stop all the petty complaints about price and do what is NEEDED and BEST for your child!!!

Terrible, extremely unprofessional staff and management. They management has no manners. The school smells bad, and they make up extra fees as you the school year goes on. Please do not sign your child in this school. There are better options!

The quality at this school is decreasing! When I put in my first child, she did so well and we saw excellent progress. Now she is in a class with 25 children for two teachers, sharing the same room with with two other classes of more than 20 kids each! My second child is stuck in a basement where he can only go out for an hour each day (if it is 45 degree or more). He is two in a class of children ranging from 18 to almost 3. I am not sure how lesson plans can really be thought in this setting. The teachers are great but the learning envirionment has deteriorated...Think about that before enrolling your child.

I have been meaning to do this for some time and here I go. I really like this school for my daughter. My daughter attended another school that was more expensive about two blocks away and they let her run around with no structure and no schedule so we took her out of that school to put in in QTLC and I absolutely love it. My daughter loves this school Originally she started in a classroom that was not appropriate for her age but I voiced my concerns and they made changes to her class immediately. My daughters teacher takes her job very seriously. My daughter is happy to attend school every day and gives her teacher a big hug every morning. The principal takes his job very seriously and we really like that. My daughter is only 2 is already learning how to write her name, of course she knows her colors and is identifying letters. It is true that are fee's that suddenly come up - i think that communication with the parents really needs to be better as far as the fee's- the schedules they provide are confusing .If they ever "waive" a fee have them putting in writing. to us is worth the money just would like them to be better of telling you from the begining about all the fees.

We send our 2-year old daughter here and she really enjoys it. She comes home singing songs and talking about her friends. The care givers are really nice and attentive. There are a lot of additional fees, but I don't mind it too much because they are for things like art supplies and people coming in to do musical and dramatic shows for the kids. There is a strong religious element that comes through when I'm at parent meetings with the executive staff, which is unusual since it's not a religious school. But overall she is safe and happy, so I give it five stars.

My child was abused and neglected at this center. The staff was lazy, obnoxious, and unprofessional. The director was creepy. The staff broke child care laws almost daily. I got my child out of there as fast as I could.

This school is strong academically. There are lots of hidden (and seemingly arbitrary) fees, but we put up with it because the teachers are warm and dedicated, and our kids are happy. They could use an upgrade to the playground and a re-vamping of the summer camp, but overall we are satisfied. Would recommend.
