Unfortunately, Forest Park High School is not a school I would readily recommend. One of the most concerning issues is the lack of meaningful parent engagement, which also doesn't seem to be encouraged by the school. Communication with parents is minimal; I've only seen information regarding one PTA meeting, which was scheduled in the early afternoon, a time that doesnt accommodate the schedules of most working parents.
Theres also a noticeable issue with staff and administrative behavior. Many interactions Ive had or witnessed reflect a lack of professionalism and empathy, particularly from some administrators. My personal experience with the principal was unfavorable; she came across as dismissive and unpleasant when I visited the school to advocate for my child, who had been unfairly suspended. The situation involved my child standing up to disrespect from another student, yet the resolution felt one-sided and insincere. They claimed both students would face consequences, but it was clear only my child did.
Additionally, the schools leadership does not appear to foster a positive, student-centered environment. There is more focus on promoting the principal on social media than celebrating the students themselves. Beyond Spirit Week, there are very few engaging activities that allow students to feel connected, relaxed, or excited about school life.
While the school does offer some solid trade programs which are a definite highlight, many students express feeling disengaged or unhappy with the overall experience at Forest Park.
Forest Park High has potential, but its clear that stronger leadership, more inclusive communication with families, and a shift toward student-focused culture are needed to make this a school worth recommending.

There are amazing things happening at Forest Park that a lot of people dont even realize. Transformation of the Forest Park they used to know started when Principal Mouzone took over. She not only challenges the students to do better but she challenges her entire staff, families and the community. She lets us know daily that this change can only continue to occur when as a team work together for the greater good, our students. They are excelling in academics, sports, service to others to become the global citizens we want them to be.

Im new to the Forest Park school and am in awe of how much school pride penetrates and oozes throughout the building. The students and staff have all been so welcoming. When you walk through the halls during instruction you can hear a pin drop!!! Awesome school vibes with lots of smiling faces and support! Truly a walk in the Park!

The special education program has been a very supportive and efficient program. They really service the students and make the process comfortable for parents.

Great Schools needs to actually visit the school and collect their information from the counselors and administrators with correct data. Schools absorb the data of every student enrolled, and if a student has failed prior to enrolling, that negatively affects the schools graduation rate. FPHS has been the second chance school for an exceptional number of students, not successful at other schools. Offering night school and Saturday school, FP has an exceptional recovery rate - despite taking the hit on graduation rates due to transfers that failed prior to enrolling. Since 2013, FPHS has outperformed high schools in their BCPS-assigned cohort, with similar demographics, for multiple years - 87/100 for Learning Environment & College Readiness. Students take offers in 4+ AP courses, improve faster in College Readiness, and accolades for equity. In 2014 FPHS had 1 of 3 only students in Baltimore to earn the coveted Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship, with the other two students coming from Poly. FPHS now hosts a $73 million LEED Silver campus, offers 7+ CTE courses, of which 9th graders are introduced to all CTE courses (including JROTC), to help make an informed CTE choice for 10th grade. Great Schools - do better at eradicating old stigmas, talk to Teachers /staff whove been at FPHS for 10+ years, and have true testimony for how far this school continues to progress. Accepting all students, means not turning away the same kids rejected by the top schools in the district, so they keep their high ratings high, and ensuring a positive trajectory for FPHS graduates, for generations to come.

Well my child is a 9th grader and they put her in jortc something we thought you had to request not only did my child fail it she don't have a complete uniform just pants and shose how is she suppose to participate with just that and don't contact anyone oooo but they do have pregnant girls shirts and my child don't even look like she is having a baby the school is terrible to me lack of communication that's what it is

This school is actually way better than I thought it would be when I began in 2006. All of the students are actually in some way or the next bonded positely in vaious positive ways. Rumors always sprew on any topic in society but the best way to really believe the truth is to wittness yourself.Now Iam fully enrolled in Bccc (Baltimore city community college ) I will gain my Assoc. Degree and then trans to a university in Pennsylvania. This was all made easier through help at this high school.
