This school is so amazing. The teachers and staff are so supportive of the students, they really try to make learning fun and understandable for students. They provide many activities and event which are free. They do a great job encouraging students. The amount of helpful programs available assists a lot. The staff is very respectful, responsive and always willing to assist in any way possible.

This school sucks. They make the children look bad for things they do. Online school with JSW is not the best. Mcps is way way more better.

My daughter is advanced in reading, writing and math, and they observed that within a few weeks of her starting kindergarten. She was then recommended to be tested for early entrance into 1st grade by the kindergarten teacher.

It was a rough start in 2015, but has progressively gotten better every year with Mrs. Barber-Wehrman as the principal, and Mrs. Holland and Dr. Bunns as the Vice Principals.

My Daughter attended JSW from Kindergarten to Sixth grade, and I can say this school really surpassed my expectations. I had heard so many things about the school prior to my daughter attending there in K-4 it made me really skeptical. But, after she was enrolled I found that the staff and leadership was one of the best that I had ever encountered. All of her teachers throughout 6th grade were all so good at what the do, and the cared about my child on personal level that I didn't expect. The schools code of ethics and overall management was exceptional. We were truly blessed to have all of them in our lives for those 7 years. Thanks JSW!

My son is enrolled in kindergarten while attending at JSWES for the 2017 - 18 school year. My son and I have attended the orientation session that was conducted, and felt that the orientation was a success. While there, I met with Principal Barber. She engaged me and son with a warm greeting and conversation about upcoming school year. I returned the following day with my son, to attempt to make his transition to JWS comfortable and relax. I spoke with his new teacher and she engaged my son with various educational puzzles and even gave another tour of the school. (tour was given during orientation). At this point, I feel positive that my son will receive quality and proper teaching lesson, guidance, care, and fun. I'm looking forward to the beginning of the school year.

Both of my children attend JSW and every year I am happy with my kids teachers. I have to agree with one parent though, not alot of parents are involved. I'm that parent that has the teachers email addy's and do "pop up" visits. I have a great experience with the school, because we work together as a team (parent and teacher). I have NO complaints about my school!! Love it every year!

This school works hard to help all students to meet their goals. The programs that they make available to students is outstanding. The programs that my granddaughter is participanting in, I have notice improving in her attitude and work habits. I appreciated having the opportunity to comment on her school. Job well done. I had a niece that attended the school last year in per k-3, she couldn't talk as good as my daughter, didn't know her colors or shapes and I home school my daughter last year because she didn't get in to per k-3 last year. After the school year was out my niece learned more then her colors, shapes, # and abc's. My daughter is attended the 2013-2014 school year and so far I've notice the teachers really care about the students in just more then the education , but what going on at home as will. The only reason the school have 3 out of 10 is because the parents/ guardians don't participate, in there kids education. There are at lease 2-4 students in each class who cant read, 2-4 who adding.Its not the teachers fault,it's the parents/ guardians.My mother works there and the STORYS I hear about the parent is just terrible,they care more about work then there kids.Parents need to be more involved with there children that goes for all schools rated under 10.No excuses.I worked two full time job's still find time to home school my child.so 3 is not the rating for this school its the parents/guardians who get the 3.the teachers are great they try so hard.I would recommend this school but?
