We've had 3 children go through Century High School - cannot say enough good things about the school and I recommend it without hesitation. Century earned status as a Blue Ribbon School.

Academically, Century provides a rigorous curriculum that challenges students while giving them the support they need to succeed. The teachers set high expectations, encourage critical thinking, and genuinely care about helping students reach their full potential. Our daughter took many of the AP courses offered and the transition to higher education was remarkably smooth because the expectations, workload, and study habits developed in high school closely mirrored those required at the university level. One of our children went on to attend one of the nation's premier engineering schools and was well prepared when she arrived. We firmly believe that the strong academic foundation built at Century played a significant role in that success. The emphasis on problem-solving, time management, and intellectual curiosity gave her the confidence and skills needed to thrive in an extremely demanding academic environment.

Beyond academics, the school offers outstanding extracurricular opportunities, including some of the area's top-performing athletic programs - especially girls lacrosse, where the team frequently participates in the state championship - they have launched many D-1 lax players. The coaches emphasize not only excellence in competition but also teamwork, discipline, leadership, and character. Student-athletes are encouraged to excel both on the field and in the classroom, creating a culture where achievement is celebrated in every aspect of school life.

Century combines academic rigor, exceptional college preparation, competitive athletics, and a caring environment. We are incredibly grateful for the education and opportunities it provided our children, and we believe it helped them develop the tools to succeed not only in college but well beyond.

After experiencing many schools throughout our years, we have had our turn at Century HS and it has been a fantastic experience! The school is very dedicated to student safety and college/career readiness. College isn’t for everyone and I appreciate that it’s not the only avenue pushed onto the students. They have an awesome career and tech program. JROTC has been great for my student. Communication from the school is good, maybe even too much. But I’d rather more than not enough.

The administration at the school falls short when it come to enforcing their policies around drug use and vaping. Century High School and its teachers offer some very good rigorous academic programs. This school caters to the well behaved and highly motivated teen.

If you're moving to the area, I would highly recommend this school. I was only able to go to Century for a year, but after having to move away, I realized how amazing this school was. The best part was the community. Everyone at Century was nice, whether it be the students, the teachers, and guidance counselors who actually care and want you to succeed. I was a nerd, yet I was still able to be friends with cheerleaders, the track team, etc. I'm an introvert who was able to make many friends, which goes on to show how great the community truly is.

Moving to the area? Check out private schools. Having had several children graduate from century high school, I have met a number of the schools teachers. Why do they have such a high passing rate for the HSA's? That's all they teach. Our children were not prepared for college. We've even had Presidents of colleges say STEM students from Century HS were not well prepared to handle the rigors expected in college. A lot of emphasis is placed on Century being an Academy school. Don't be fooled. Ask Drew Cockley why his best teachers have left. The teachers of tenure are not supportive, like government, they're present for a paycheck.
