I mean, I go to this school, it's pretty nice, and has a pretty robust special ed system. Only problem is the student community can be a little bit anxious for fighting and stuff. I don't know. overall nice school (:

What is absolutely up guys. I used to go to Bonnie Branch and it was pretty great. Pretty chill school with the teachers and staff and all that. However I will say that the school did get progressively worse as the years went on. The school certainly has increased in the amount of fights that have happened throughout the years. In my first year at Bonnie Branch there was like no fights but there was one incident in a bathroom stall. In the second year there were some fights but it was mostly chill. Maybe some more profanity and racial slurs here and there but it was all fun and games at the end of the day. In my last year however, there were a lot more fights. However I was largely unaffected because I don't have the energy to fight at eight in the morning like these people do. I just mind my own business. There is a large gap from academically gifted and people falling behind. Pretty nice school though if you just are normal and don't pick fights with people 24/7. Oh and also the bathrooms are trash but hey thats like all schools am I right? Peace, you only live once brah so live it like you could die tomorrow.

My experience in this school is much more likely scattered. Sure, there are teachers that are good and bad, but some of the substitute teachers need to be put in their place. One type is the neglectful teachers, who don't take responsibility for their role. The other type is those teachers who get angry easily, making some sort of "rift of misunderstanding" between the teacher and the students. For example, a student says something to the teacher, and the teacher gets a little irritated. Something like that in the matter. The community is accepting, however there is some discrimination. Some still will get away with speaking in another language, and talking negatively about a certain student they're targeting. Behavior, is on another level, in a bad way. Students on the bus will not listen to the bus driver, and are disruptive. Either things are being thrown around (and could hit someone's head) or maybe really loud arguments. There are reports, but staff don't take action until it goes REALLY bad. In the classroom, certain groups of students would talk, even when the teacher would ask them to stop. I find that most in the race of Hispanics and Blacks would have the most discipline. With everything else miscellaneous, I think that the post from November 17, 2022 explains it precisely. There is vandalism in the bathroom (in the form of inappropriate words and maybe drawings posed as body parts from the human body) and also inappropriate language, and also sexism. This is so severe that the principal, Dr. Cockley, had to close down the bathrooms (excluding the ones near the cafeteria). In summary, education here is hard to build onto (you must be already performing above-level), staff does a poor job monitoring students, and bad behaviours are not recognized quickly enough. If you are looking for a good school, please look away from here, I advise against it going here. This is mainly some of the staff's fault, which makes up for the majority of what's happening in school. Ask anyone or search up on Google for ANY better schools.

In my opinion I don't really like bbms this being my first year. You have kids vandalizing the bathrooms, people saying slurs, and sexism. And teachers take so long to see what's happening i see people getting bullied because their teeth are crooked and because of their body. For example right now only two bathrooms (four if you count the girls) are available to use and the bathroom doors near the cafeteria need to stay open to avoid vandalism but now there's like no privacy. So to end this off I think that bbms not a good school with teacher support and things need to change.

school everyday- mostly because it was fun. Some staff they didnt enjoy but thats just life.

This school FAILED my sons mental health and now we HAVE to transfer! Even after investigations were done the bullies didnt face consequences congruent with the hcpss code of conduct! Those students were still allowed access to my son and even close enough to steal his new phone!! We were at the school EVERY week! Just an awful experience at this school!

2/10 the staff didnt seem to really be supportive of my son and every time we visited the school, the staff were always rushing around and it was apparent that they were understaffed.

Hi, I am currently attending this school and wanted to give my anonymous opinion on it. As someone who doesn't talk much, I can notice a lot of things. Teachers are nice, but the staff doesn't handle the students here well at all. Some people constantly talk back to the teachers and just get lunch detention for it, but they just give more lunch detention if you miss it I think, which you can keep doing and just keep getting more of that. They also don't pay attention to how students are interacting with one another at all. With how things have been going I'm sort of starting to be scared to be going here at all. If anyone at the school sees this, handle your issues. Heck, people constantly say profanities and things like that and no teacher does a thing about it. Essentially, this is a message requesting that the staff actually address these issues. Please. At least the education is ok, but the school environment is terrible and I'm scared for the next year.

All three of my children attended Bonnie Branch. The educators and leadership at school was fantastic. The course offerings there are varied enough and challenging for the students. The education my kids received prepared them and provided a great foundation for high school and college.

My son has been at BBMS for a year. He is in all Gifted & Talented classes and has been truly challenged intellectually. Janine Sharbaugh, who leads the GT program, really gets that these gifted kids learn differently, gives them space to pursue their own academic interests, and encourages them to push themselves. My son has been playing cello for 4 years, and the school's band and orchestra program (which the kids attend for almost an hour a day 5 days a week during the school day) is phenomenal. We also love Cher Jones, the Principal, who is clearly "in it" with all of the faculty and students and really listens to feedback. For example, when students and staff complained that the bell system between classes was just creating noise and stress, she got rid of bells all together. Everyone gets to class on time, and that whole scene of chaos you may remember from your own childhood, with kids racing down the hall as the bell started to ring, has been eliminated. Everyone seems so much more relaxed, and it's lovely.

Our daughter loves it here at BBMS. We love the Principal. Asst. Principal and all the teachers that she has had. We also love the diversity in the school. Great learning!

I used to be a student at bbms. Great fantastic school, great staff, great students, and great inviroment. Moving to this school was probably the best thing I could have done to better help my education.

Have much difficulty with politics and support staff. I've seen very poor results with the bullying and lack of enforcement . As a parent, I don't care to be talked to or treated as a child. I also very much agree with the other parent that posted Sept 29. There are teachers there I believe are very good and dedicated. Although, Support Staff vs Parent is embarrasing and should be taken seriously.
