No school is perfect, but RHS is among the best schools in the state it seems like. My daughter graduated from here 2 years ago and is a Lance Corporal in the Marines now and in her 2nd year at UMGC. My son will be a senior this fall and has taken every AP course they offer, so he will only have 2 classes here and the rest at HCCC his senior year. Overcrowding is an issue, as it is throughout Howard County and RHS is among the most diverse schools in the county with strong academics.

Current junior here, reservoir has great teachers. I love almost every single one of my teachers. However, the work load is crazy high. We get a higher work load compared to places such as Hammond or Wilde lake. It’s extremely stressful to complete all of the work due to us only having 30 minutes every Wednesday to catch up with all of our work. We need a study hall class, a study hall class will catch us up and most likely improve grades.

My child was well prepared to succeed at UMD College Park. She was was accepted at six other schools, and offered a place in the honors program. She took almost all GT as well as nine APs.

To pass AP classes, you need to cover a lot of material. Homework is one way to do that.

I don't feel that there is enough homework, but that's more of an issue with the overall educational system, not just this school. My 5th grader in private school has twice as much homework, and has had to write papers longer than my junior in public high school. Makes no sense to me.

I could not be happier with a high school. When we moved recently, we made sure to find a home within Reservoir's district because we love the school so much.

This school is great. I have one graduate now attending Virginia Tech Engineering and a rising 10th grader participating in Project Lead the Way. He just received 3 credits from RIT after scoring an 8 out of 9 on his PLTW exam The staff is excellent and the teachers are amazing. It is a diverse school with a lot of spirit and togetherness. Love this school!

In 9th grade my child learned (the hard way) about plagiarism and actually grew from that lesson. They went on to be a terrific writer.

RHS has been a great experience for all of my kids so far. The staff, administration, coaches and all leaders involved at the school have been honest and transparent while providing an excellent education in and outside of the classroom. I can't say enough good things about the school. The diversity of the population helps our kids prepare for the real world that surrounds us on a daily basis. We truly love it here.

RHS has it all. Not only an amazing staff of educators and administrators, but they have fabulous extracurricular activities and sports teams!!! Best school in HOCO

The teachers, administrative staff and counselors hold the students accountable for their work and decisions. Also, the administrative staff are always their for the parents in a timely manner.

Reservoir High School is a great high school to learn and grow. I have found that the teachers care about teaching students and hold the students accountable for their school work. The sense of community is definitely present at this school. The principal and administrative staff are involved and enthusiastic about working with children. I'm very happy with Reservoir High School.

We are assigned to this high school and Reservoir high school used to be scored 10, then 9, 8 and now 7? the high school is going down the hills. I don't know why?

My daughter just graduated from Reservoir HS and really enjoyed her time there. The school prepared her very well to go to college and the teachers/ counselors were very supportive and available to assist any student who needed help. She took numerous AP courses and was very prepared for the AP tests. Like any HS now a days, there will be some kids who get into trouble but I feel that the current principal, is doing an outstanding job of improving the school and providing a safe and effective learning environment for the students. He makes every effort to iinform the parents of issues facing the school and enlist parental involvement when possible. Plus there are numerous extracurricular activities for the kids to be involved in including sports, numerous bands, drama groups and a wide variety of clubs. Overall it was a great time for her as a student and for us as parents.

My kid is curently attend this school. I have heard so many kids reported their belongings got stolen in girls and boys locker rooms lately and the school has not done anything to address it. My child also has stuffs stolen twice within last 3 months. That is shame, such a beautiful school being ruined with this type of behaviors.... Sad!!!

The new administration has really made Reservoir a fantastic school. Principal Saunderson makes a profound effort to attend every school activity he can while also becoming involved in every aspect of his pupils. Being a senior, I have seen the school change dramatically in the last 2 years. Reservoir's school spirit, safety, access, and teacher job satisfaction has increased exponentially. Coming from a student who has seen and heard all the talk from all the other HCPSS high schools, Reservoir is definitely a school I would send my child too. Go Gators!

Reservoir High School gets two thumbs up!! Like every other parent who wants to see their child succeed academically in a supporting and thriving environment, I considered sending my son to private school for years 9-12 after hearing negative reports about the school in the past. Well, my son just completed his freshman year and I am so pleased that I stuck with my gut and sent him to Reservoir High. This school has so many outstanding qualities. It is diverse which I love as it represents the real world whereas many private schools do not. My son was in a mix of Honors, GT, and one regular class and at every level the teachers genuinely cared about his success. Also, I would like to give a high five salute to the new principal who actively engaged with the students and attended just about all the after school events. In addition to academics, the athletic and music departments kept my son well rounded and actively engaged. I've heard many parents comment over the years that all HCPS are not created equal. Well in my book Reservoir is one of the best. Go Gators!
