Beaver Creek Childcare & Kindergarten

We have had a wonderful experience at Beaver Creek. Our child has been there for 2 years and has grown and learned so much in that time. The curriculum is engaging and developmentally appropriate. The facility is sparking clean and well maintained. The staff and director are caring and know each child by name. It is a calm, fun, nurturing environment. As a working parent, I appreciate that they are open more days than your typical daycare -federal holidays, between Christmas and New Year, snow days etc. We love Beaver Creek!

Zero, very poor management they cover everything up.... This childcare should be reported to licensing it is in no shape to stay open to take care of children.

There is no classroom control. Staff sit and let the children do what they want.

Not effective at all. Many staff have left this childcare can not keep employees.

Poor leaders the staff seem to talk a lot about the children and their parents in a very negative way.

I have mixed feelings about this review. On one hand, Beaver Creek has great facilities and playgrounds. However, the director does not seem to invest in her teachers. She relies heavily on interns with little or no childcare experience. It was not uncommon for our child to have 5-6 different teachers in a week. She encourages developmentally inappropriate disciplinary practices. When confronted about these things, she appears to take the tact that its bad kids not inadequately trained staff. We are moving on. Change must come from the top.

My son attended Beaver Creek when he was 4 years old, newly adopted from a foreign country, and non-speaking English. He is now 8 years old and speaks perfect English, due in great part to Beaver Creek. Although we now live in another state, I wanted to write to express my deep gratitude for the teachers and staff who were a huge support to me as a new adoptive parent. I have so much respect for the outstanding job they did with my son. I just found an album of all his work from Beaver Creek and class picture of 2010-2011 with Ms. Julie and Ms. Jenn; and so I thought I'd write a review, long overdue! I miss the parents night out, which my son loved too. Thank you Beaver Creek !

I have an infant and toddler at Beaver Creek and have been very satisfied wiht both childcare the preschool programs. The teachers are very engaged, and the activities planned go above and beyond any other program I've ever heard of. The infant care is fantastic, very clean and accomodating.

Did you hear the news? Beaver Creek was just voted Best Day Care in the West County by the Arundel Voice! From the teachers to the directors to the facility and playgrounds, its all so wonderful! Turns out they are not mediocre after all!

You get what you pay for. This school is inexpensive for a reason - they do not go above and beyond for your child. If you are OK with mediocre childcare at a great price, then this is the place for you. But if you want quality care from educators who truly care for your child, then go elsewhere. There are some good teachers here but the directors leave much to be desired. They are quickly overwhelmed by the smallest of issues (e.g., children not listening during circle time) and not equipped to handle larger issues (e.g., children not listening on a daily basis). They have an outside counselor that is supposed to observe "problem" children and provide feedback. But the ironic thing is that the counselor usually gives the SCHOOL feedback on what they're doing wrong with the child - and of course the directors don't take her advice. My feeling is that the directors are either not skilled enough or too overwhelmed or both. In any case, until things change at the top there, this school will only be mediocre at best.

I wish I had originally chosen Beaver Creek for my son when he started day care at 6 months old. He's now 2 and after being disappointed with two other centers in the area, we are now very happy with our choice. Beaver Creek is a great combination of learning, fun, and a caring environment. He's moved up to the next classroom a few times already and the transition is always easy. The teachers and staff there are wonderful and seem to really care about the children. Having 2 snacks and lunch provided has been a huge relief. The cost and fees are reasonable and meals/snacks/drinks provided helps with that too. Their field trips and activities are also wonderful. The outdoor play area is great and my son loves that there are actually swings, slides, and cars to play with. They provide additional shade with a canopy during the hot summer months too. My son always seems happy when I pick him up and I know I will be able to trust them with excellent care for my 2nd son after his arrival.
