I went to Homewood for 4 years. Before getting there I was barely passed because my middle school couldn't give me the support I needed after years of bullying. Immediately, I felt at home here. The teachers cared for my wellbeing and education. It was fun again. I went from failing out, to closing my IEP in my final year. I was doing ARL classes, Student Government where I somehow got president for two years, and a ton more. I miss everyone and love to vouch for this school. It's reputation and stigma dont define the people. They care about your education and safety. They love their students. Best school in HCPSS.

This is central focus for the school. Many kids here come from backgrounds where they havent gotten the support they need. Homewood works hard to overcome these challenges and transition the kids to a stronger sense of self and self-worth.

Leadership does a good job considering the challenges they face. More money and support would help them be more effective.

Many of the students are challenged to learn in a general Ed environment. Homewood is all about finding way to support these students.

Homewood uses restorative justice very effectively to address challenges like bullying.

My child attended Homewood for six years. The transformation in his abilities has been amazing. Homewood focuses on what is important and doesnt sweat the small stuff. Relationships and community are paramount as that is what it takes to bring these kids back to learning. You wont find more dedicated staff anywhere. Just an awesome place.

Homewood will find a way to get your kid learning. If homework is an issue for them, they will find a way around that.

The vast majority of teachers here are highly skilled professionals. Every once in a while someone lands here who is not equipped to deal with this population.
