There isn’t much offered here… The AP courses listed here are inaccurate, we only have AP Gov, AP Calc, AP Seminar/Research, AP psychology, & AP Stats. The teachers aren’t terrible at all, some of them are great at doing lessons, but the school can’t keep teachers for long… I didn’t even have a math teacher Sophomore year… We had a substitute all year long. Then Junior year my math teacher quit within the first 3 months…
My stats: I scored a 1000+ on the SAT, and had a 3.5+ GPA and was top 10 within my class… I was on track with College level English/Writing but wasn't prepared for College math. I wouldn’t recommend this school unless it was a last resort. Even though I got good grades and succeeded I didn’t learn much. School environment isn’t the safest… Guns were found, people were stabbed.. There were shootings around the school, and we were on lockdown every other week.

Academy for College and Career Exploration is not a safe school because the front door that people used to enter in the morning is not safely secured, and what I mean by that is say if you ring the bell no one asks you whom you are, or what your business is within the school they allow you to proceed through the door. Once you enter the building you don't have to report to the office you can walk straight up the stairs or the hallways,no one really enforces you to go to the office to sign in. Where is the safety in that? There was an incident where a group of boys came to the school to drop a student off and the student reported the her brother that she was being harassed by a male student. The group of boys proceeded to the school and made their way into the school they were not wearing the school's uniform, nor did they have the schools id on them. They went around the school looking for the male student that his sister reported was being bullied by. Their intent was to fight the male. My question is where was the school police? You're supposed to ensure the safety of the students and the staff, why were they not at the door making sure that people go to the office and check in?
