I went to this school for 6th grade, and it was unparticle trash Teachers in this school cuss at you and target you even when you are not disrupting anyone. one time i got into a fight and then the teacher bullied me and made fun of me Infront of everyone and i cried because I was embarrassed and mad, so he made fun of me for crying. i another story one time me and my friends were getting bullied, and we said stuff back Aswell and the counselor blamed me and my friends for it also when me and my friend got into a disagreement the consoler talked behind both me and my friends back saying both of you are not right for each other stay away from her and stuff like that.

I feel like this school has shown a ton of striving to be better and I know that some people don't like the teachers, but they make us strive for ACT. Achieve, Create, Transform. Also the clubs and sports are very interactive with the sport choices throught the year are changing per season. I like it here.

Principal and administration did nothing when me or my friends faced homophobic attacks and said it was our fault. Even if you are not lgbtq you still should not sent your kid to a school where they allow this behavior

Oh god, I ALWAYS want to call out because of the EXTREMELY hostile environment. People think violence is always the best answer, the busses are heated environment where the N-Slur, and other swear words, are thrown around about every .2 seconds, and in the building it is even worse, and I never eat in the cafeteria for this reason. Classes involve many people not caring about work, people getting in fights almost every week WITH ZERO REPERCUSSIONS (FOR ANY OF THIS!!!!) and actually pushing teachers to the limit. I can say, as an IEP requiring student though, that I feel just comfortable enough to want to keep coming back. Also, I feel like someone could physically harm me at any time, and also the course work is repetitive, and feels dated. My biggest complaint is the suspension rate is NOT EVEN CLOSE to what it should be, considering there are a LOT of slackers in my classes, and a LOT of "cool kids"(aka people who just throw around swear words and slurs like they don't mean anything) that are not cool, nor my friends. Would not recommend, if you are going to a zoned school, consider somewhere else. Note that this is being written by an 8-grader,but it seems people are rude here no matter their age or grade. This is one of the WORST schools in the COUNTY, and even the visit from the Superintendent at the start of the school year does not help, because that was (a) at the start of the year and (b) everyone knew to be on good behavior that day!!!

Awful, the administration does nothing to protect the children that are being abused everyday. Bullying, harassment, intimidation, hitting, stealing and cyberbullying happen everyday at CMS. Parents in the community share stories of whatÂ’s going on and how the administration can not do anything about it or they choose not to. There is also fighting every single day. It is not a safe environment. The teachers can not control the children in the classroom and on the hallways. Bullying is way out of control at Catonsville Middle School.

Excellent teaching. Students are respectful, and even when theyÂ’re not, discipline is put in an ordered manner. All teachers are sweet and do their job good.

Great school. The administration is top notched and very student centric. The administration works so well with the parent community, it should be used as model for other areas schools that lack in that area. The teachers are effective facilitators and are committed to the success of their students. Awesome school. LOVE IT!

CMS is fantastic! We were new to the area and school in January and everyone made us feel so welcome. Mr. Thorne is amazing, he is talented and a true inspiration. Mr. Eisenberg is terrific, great at communicating what my daughter needed to keep up on and she did well with him as her teacher. The school offers so many opportunities for the children to get involved. We feel so lucky to have landed here. Finally, the PTSA is energetic and truly has the kids best interest at heart.

Catonsville MIddle school is exemplorary! It is a blue ribbon school. Mr. Thorne is an elite principal. The staff at CMS is spectacular and the programming is exceptional. As a teacher for 18+ years I could not be more thrilled with the education my daughter has rec'd in her 2 years at CMS. I am most impressed with the quality of programs for choral arts, athletics, science and drama. I feel that the parent involvement at CMS is celebrated and successful. The school has received numerous PTA, school, student and staff awards in celebration of their supieriority! What a fantastic education your child will have at CMS!
