Extremely good school with a plethora of different clubs, programs, and specialties. There are so mant AP classes to take and the teachers are BEYOND amazing! In my 4 years here I experienced 1 bad teacher. I felt ready for each exam and activity and I learned and got to experience so many different things. I am now headed to college and I feel ready and prepared for the course load and I am motivated to do well. The teachers felt like true mentors and there was a huge sense of community in and outside of school. 10/10 high school experience!

Ive been at this school for 3 years and the crazy stuff Ive seen is insane. Im lucky enough to be in all AP and GT classes which are more tolerable in the student population however the teachers that teach these classes have made racist, ableist, and homophobic comments whether it be slurs or disrespect. Many teachers either dont follow or dont read 504 plans and IEPs. The student in standard and below often get into fights, ignore their teacher, and will sometimes cuss out teachers and subs. Now while this is not all students or teachers you will see these students everyday in the lunch room, bathrooms and, hallway yelling, vaping, and get into fights. There are many teachers that are amazing however that number is dwindling as more retire and move each year, if you want your student to get a quality education do not send them here and if you do be proactive about the teachers they get. Now that isnt even touching on the physical state of the school as you walk around you will notice, mice water damage everywhere on the ceilings, mold in some classes, empty pad dispensers in the bathrooms. In the gym locker rooms periodically it will begin to smell like feces because the shower pipes arent used. In the time I have been here there have been at least 2 floods. Neither of these floods reported to parents despite it interrupting classes making students move classrooms. There was also water actively flowing out of the windows on the second and third floors in the new building which you could see from the windows. The floors are not cleaned daily or even close the bathrooms are however the floors in the rooms do not get cleaned unless the teacher does it. The only tasks consistently done to cleans the building are removing trash (they dont recycle despite the recycling bins in most rooms) bathroom cleaning, and I am not positive but it is possible the rooms are swept but never mopped except over the summer this is clear by the way the floors are sparkling clean at the beginning of the year and by the end of the first month they are gross. There are multiple rooms that get wasps (not because windows are open) they come through the vents. I could go on and on about the problems with this school. If you choose to send your kid her please be aware of the education they are receiving the curriculum with the exception of ap classes is not good enough I highly recommend if you send your kids here they do dual enrollment at CCBC in their junior and senior year

This is my child's first year here. There appears to be a lack of effort towards acknowledging and making strides to improve diversity and the stigma of bias engulfing the school environment. There are some select teachers that truly go above and beyond however overall instructors don't seem motivated to improve the development of all children equally. This shows in the classroom and throughout extra-curricular programs. I really was excited to give my child a unique opportunity like I had growing up but this institution doesn't seem to be able to provide it without bias. The school does have a lot of special school programs available and fellow students seem to be welcoming. This feedback was also shared by past students I met who attended here prior to my child attending.

Few of the staff is, so rude and specially the admission counselor. She is the most rude person in the office. They don't respect the people who are new to there school. But on other hand teacher and other staff is nice and respectful. It have really disappointed me. I think I would not be able to recommend someone to take there kids to this school.

Ive only been a student here for 1 year but its the best school ive been in and i went to Archbishop Curley. They are very inclusive to all ethnic groups

I do not recommend this school to any Latino parent or student. The current leadership at the Catonsvillle High School do not support the Diversity among their Teachers Staff. They also treat Hispanic students in a different way, especially when they need to apply the behavior/conduct policies.

Catonsville high school allowed my nephew to be bullied and assaulted by a student in his class and a student who did not belong in his class. The teacher did nothing. When his brother (who is also a student) got into an argument with the bully (no physical contact involved) the assistant principle recommended that both my nephews be expelled from school for the verbal disturbance. The bully did not face the same consequence, although he physically assaulted my nephew. The administrators were disrespectful to my sister and brother-in-law. They refused to speak with them. When the met face-to-face they were disrespected by the assistant principle.

This school discriminates against its minority students. The teachers and administrators highly respect white students and disrespect minority students.

Catonsville High School really prepared me for the next level of my academic career in which I have gotten of to a great start as my first semester recently concluded. This is due in part to the highly skilled teachers as well as the overall positive learning athmosphere that encourages good student to student and student to teacher interaction.

My daughter attended this school and took 12 AP classes and got 5's in all of them. She was admitted to MIT and her classmates got into similar prestige schools like Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, Tulane, etc. The school was top-rated by the Washington Post. I can't imagine how this service rated CHS as a 7 out of 10.
