After years dedicated to working at this school, I know we are far from perfect. But this is truly a place I feel committed to, and I know that students find passionate members of our staff who care about their educational outcomes and experiences.
As happy as I am to call much of the staff my peers, I am most proud of the vibrant lives and personalities of our students. We have a kind and supportive group of students who go on to do meaningful things.
Within educational systems, the right choices aren't always made, and the school has faced some difficulty, but Chesapeake's community of learners is consistently made up of diverse, generous, and respectful students receiving the guidance of caring adults who work to hone their craft.

I am fortunate to be a teacher at Chesapeake. Our school is a heart-warming community that is hard to put in words. Chesapeake has made and continues to make strong gains in academics. Chesapeake each year offers more opportunities for engagements such as clubs, sports and the arts.
Chesapeake has great kids who want to succeed. We have excellent teachers who support our kids and challenge them to reach their full potentials. Also Chesapeake has an incredible team of counselors who wear their hearts on their sleeves and repeatedly amaze me with their high-level abilities to benefit our students.
Our community school facilitator builds up Chesapeake in the community. Our administration is dedicated and intentional. Our support staff work tirelessly to keep our community together and running smoothly.
Chesapeake is a special place that means so much to those of us lucky to be part of it.

The Secretary Marybeth is very unprofessional and Principal Tyler does not care of the students and let them leave School early with no program. The students dress inappropriate, the staff does nothing. Teachers secretly deals with students.

I usually only ever review dining experiences online. This, however, needed to be shared. I am so thankful that it is over. My child graduated this year and I am so grateful never ever to have to even drive near this "school" again. The bullying is out of control but what's worse, the lame duck position that the ENTIRE administration holds, permanently. My child was harassed INSIDE THE SCHOOL and outside. Students roam the hallways, tormenting and threatening others. They were loitering in the hallways, gaining access to classrooms to which they were not even assigned. The bullies were not disciplined until I made three trips to the school and demanded a meeting with someone, anyone, to assist. At every instance I was told "you need an appointment to come in". I had to act like an entire fool in the lobby to gain entrance. I ended up having to defend my home and my child with a shotgun when a gang of female students decided to show up at my front door. This was a horrible experience and I hope parents do their research before EVER leaving their children at this cesspool. As a mom, you never want to receive the phone call that you should come to pick up your child because they "cannot guarantee she will be kept safe" during school hours. These were a trifling and overwhelming four years. Do yourselves a favor and either homeschool or find a better option. Chesapeake is not safe.

If I could give this school ZERO stars, I would. The bullying is out of control and the administration does not want to deal with it. My husband and I sat in the office waiting for2 hours for the assistant principal to come out to talk with us and she refused. It wasnt until my daughter called me from her office and both of us yelling at her that something got done about the issue. Ive had issues with the teachers telling me stuff isnt being turned in and it was found in their bins with grades on it. I had a teacher tell me when asked to help my child that, and I quote, I have my own family and kids at home, I dont offer after school or extra help. Maybe dont be a teacher then if you cant help a student. The only reason my child went here was for the Aerospace Engineering magnet program, which I swear they put in the worst possible school they could think of, probably only to get attendance up at the school. I am soo glad that they lost their magnet program for anyone entering the 25-26 school year and going forward, so that someone elses child doesnt have to deal with the ridiculousness that is CHS. And dont get me started on how 5 teachers surrounded and told my child that she wouldnt walk across the stage at graduation because she had a homemade stole on representing her magnet program because the school couldnt be bothered to acknowledge any of the magnet program kids, but yet several other kids walked across the stage with homemade stoles. I am extremely grateful that I no longer have to see or deal with this school and I feel sorry for the kids and parents who are still there.

I've been to over 5 schools throughout my life, and this one was truly the harshest and worst experience I've had. Underqualified teachers. Over authoritative administrators.

Most of the teachers are underqualified for their jobs which leads to the students tanking the national test score averages.

This school is run by some of the worst administrators I've met in my life. They're like emotionless authoritarians whose best interest is how quickly they can "assist" their students, not how they can best help them.

No follow up. No accountability to turn in and homework is not graded. Therefore kids dont get the importance of doing it.

My daughter was assaulted by a teacher and nothing happened other than him being told that isnt expected behavior. Teachers do not reply to parent emails timely and grades are not loaded throughout the quarter.

For two years I have fought to have bullies dealt with and advocate for my daughter. The school is not interested in protecting kids nor people moshing bullies. They say what they need to to placate you but there is no follow through.

Horrible. I have had four children in school systems across the country. This by far is the absolute worse school and school system I have ever had to deal with. They are too concentrated on getting funds that the childs best interest is not at the center. They protect bullies, including their own teachers and do not base an education on a students needs but their own. Grades have been adjusted to pass even when a child should be held back. Moving here was the worst decision.
