Great community and teachers. The school instills values and care for each childs progress. Principal Johnson is very involved, engaging and has more innovative ideas and programs coming for the next school year.

Don't believe the good reviews on this school. Parents are given service hours for positive reviews. Quite a few teachers have quit in the last few weeks and a few months ago there was a parents meeting highlighting that the school is in need of funds and may have to close down if they don't acquire it.
My kid's teachers we great but I did notice the school looks for any reason for a day off. It's disgusting. During the pandemic, Wednesdays were off days for cleaning the school. If a holiday fell on a Tuesday or Thursday, they will still take Wednesday off for cleaning. There was one time a holiday fell on a Wednesday and I couldn't believe they had the audacity to move the cleaning day to Thursday that week. So 2 off days! You'll experience so many days off at this school. Just imagine, the entire school had to be closed twice when the teachers were going to get their covid vaccine. The entire school! So you're telling me everyone scheduled their vaccine on the same date and time?

Our son is finishing his Kindergarten year here. He has looked forward to the warm, nurturing environment of his classroom. His teachers, Mrs. Neal and Ms. Vilky, have worked incredibly hard to navigate a challenging year for all schools and families and have done a great job. St. Philip was one of the few schools in the area to offer in-person learning from the beginning of the year. I believe this benefited their students, young children especially, who didn't have to fall behind on the social and soft skills aspects of school. They did this with great caution and successfully kept their students and staff healthy. They did offer the option of virtual learning over the 2020-21 school year and showed willingness to work with the various situations of different families. I can tell that my son has gained discipline, attention to detail, and genuine interest in others through his time at St. Philip. Note: I only rated 3/neutral for the questions dealing with learning differences and bullying because these are not issues I have had firsthand experience with during our time at St. Philip, so I can't comment.

My kids attended this school for 3 years. The teachers, staff, and principal are excellent. They are dedicated to their students and truly care about their educational growth. Classes are small (about 15 students each) and have a teacher and paraprofessional, so students get strong one-on-one support and instruction. I believe my kids obtained an education far above what a public school can offer.

I would highly recommend this school. The staff is absolutely amazing! The principal and the teachers value the opinions of the parents, that is greatly appreciated. The staff is very responsive to any questions you might have. I love a school community where your child is not just one of many, but remembered by name and that is important. The curriculum, even for First Grade is challenging and really prepares the children! They children get enough assignments both together as a class and individually, to ensure they are grasping the subject matter. Again, I would definitely recommend this school!

Ive been apart of the school for 5 years and the level of education my kids recieve compared to other schools is staggering. The teachers are very well equipped to push the students academically.

My kids have attended this school for 2 years now. The teachers go above and beyond with teaching. During the pandemic the school still functioned as normal even though it was through distance learning. The new principal pushes herself to achieve goals that most other principals would give up easily. I would love for my kids to stay at this school and graduate 8th grade from there.

I love this school! The best part of the school are the teachers, staff and principal. Everyone truly cares about the students and they are dedicated to them. You wont have to worry if your child is in good hands.

The school has also done a great job with ensuring that the students safety is first given the pandemic. I would highly recommend this school.

We selected St Philip for our daughter after researching and visiting several schools in the same area. The reasons we selected the school were the schools location, class size, and welcoming environment. Being a new kid can be hard and the staff and students at St Philip made my family feel welcomed from day one. Despite COVID the school provided a rigorous education both virtual and in class. The school made many adjustments to the classroom environment to ensure the students and teachers safety. I would recommend the school to any family!

My Grandson transferred to St. Philip's The Apostle this school year. They have a wonderful academic program that is fully engaging. The faculty is very responsive with an open door policy for communication. The pandemic has not been a show stopper to this team of professionals. They have a very robust online classroom with complete google architectural access. In addition, they offer a full hybrid model for learning while exercising complete compliance and sensitivity to COVID-19, i.e., desk guards for each student, socially distanced workstations, air purifiers in each classroom, mask mandate for all students and fully vaccinated staff. St. Philip's is a class act. If you are looking for an expanded sense of education, I highly recommend St. Philip's The Apostle.

As a parent at the school for over 14 years, I've already sent one child through the school from Kindergarten through 8th Grade (then Catholic High School and now college). My second child has been at the school since PreK-4, currently enrolled in the middle school.

My siblings and I attended Catholic schools growing up, so I can attest that the school maintains a strong Catholic faith-based teaching curriculum. While every school has its deficiencies, the parent community at St. Philip the Apostle is educated and actively involved in the overall development of the children at the school. The parent community is part of the foundation of the school community.

While every school has room for improvement, I believe that the school is one of the better private school options in that part of Prince George's County, Maryland.

I have been a parent here for 10 years. St Philip is a family. I wanted my son in a education with strong Catholic values, good education, and safe environment and the school has exceeded my expectation.
I have NEVER had an issue that the school did not attempt to resolve. Yes, there have been some changes over the years but the core values of the school have not changed. My son loves St Philip and I have never had to worry about his safety.

My daughter sustained a head injury due to the negligence of a teacher putting sleeping carts over where she slept (during nap time). the principal actually got mad with me for speaking strictly to the teacher for her negligence.

The school has a fairly new principal and she just recently indicated that she is leaving to go to St Peter on Cap Hill. Thank Goodness because she was not a good leader for the school. I hope that this school gets back on track. The discipline student wise does not exist. If you have issues to resolve the administration to include Father is too busy acting like things aren't happening that they make matters worse. NO REAL ACTION should be linked to the office management. I can say that my daughter was there from Pk3 until 3rd and things got worse every year then I had to make a move to another school. The school has potential but it can't seem to resolve the little and other issues. As for teachers the school has a handful of excellent teachers and the rest need help. I hope things get better and they realize that they need to run their business better.

I love this school and the teachers. My son is is prek3 this year and his teachers really make learning fun for him. He loves going to school and telling me all about it. He even came home singing an Italian Christmas song one day. The school is vey structured which I love. There's no time for mess and games here! I'm very picky about when I send my child and whinny child is around. It's important to me that my child is in a diverse close knit school family that I can trust. Great school and I recommend to everyone.

The STEM program is weak. There appears to be a need for more up to date methods of instruction. The Washington Archdiocese Curriculum is very outdated.

The amount of homework tends to have you question what is being taught in the class. Additionally, each teacher has a different methodology of providing an electronic version that you can follow. To make matters even worst, they do not use eBooks.

St Philip the Apostle is an average school that offers a warm, inviting and safe atmosphere. The Principle is in her second year and is attempting to build a STEM program. The instructional methodology is highly homework focused which leads parents to wonder what is being taught in the classroom. Additionally, the classroom sizes are quite large which doesn't support educating students that are average or below average. These children will be left behind as a result. Their formal STEM program was introduced this year and hopefully will build momentum. The instructional program is being built and will take time and dedication on the part of the community of teachers and parents.

St. Philip the Apostle is a very good school. It is academically challenging, the leadership is competent, and the teachers are well qualified. My two children have been there for 4 years and we are satisfied.

I am very pleased with St. Philips. The principle and entire staff is very involved and vested in the success of the students. Because this is a Catholic school, religion and moral character is a big part of their curriculum, and i am pleased with my child's progress. My child is currently enrolled in PK3 and is registered for PK4 for next year. Her class currently is staffed by a teacher and a paraprofessional. Her current teacher is in her fist year in the Archdiocese and the paraprofessional has been there for a number of years. Taking that into account, I think this year for the teacher was a learning experience as much as it has been for our children. Initially, it was a bit bumpy, but a conversation with the principle and a successful parent teacher conference, has shown much improvement. MY child is meeting the benchmarks for her learning and as a result I am pleased with the school as a whole.

My son has attended St. Philip since PK4 and is now in the 1st grade. The day I went to deliver my check, I questioned whether we were putting him in the right school. I wanted to be certain the school would meet our needs from an education perspective and ensure the right balance of nurturing and discipline. I started asking questions and the principal came right over, sat down with me and patiently listened then answered everything despite the fact that I didn't have an appt. I knew right then this was the best place for him and still feel that way. The staff members are all professional and kind, the students are well mannered and respectful and the parent community is very tight. We have a great sports program where kids not only learn to win, they have fun.

This school is a very peaceful structured environment for children. The principal is a great advocate for her students, parents, and the school. My children are in PreK3 and PreK4 and I have a wonderful relationship with their teachers. This school is very family oriented. My children will be at this school for a while because it is very hard to find a great school.

My granddaughter who attended St Philip from 1st grade to now 2nd is doing very well. I was so pleased with the structure of education as well as the entering and dismissal of classes. I am so pleased with the amount of knowledge my granddaughter has received. Her teachers have been excellent along with the principal Ms. Cullinan. My grandson who attended K3 is a very busy little character. I give a lot of credit to his K3 teacher and aid as they worked wonders for my grandson and he did actually love it. Right now due to the large amount of enrollment for k4 he was not able to attend but he says everyday I want to go to my old school St. Philip. The teachers and administrators do know your kids and I can appreciate that as a grandmother. My daughter takes a lot of time with both kids work and volunteering at the school. I give a A++ to the K3 teacher and aid for patience is what it takes and determination and love for children. I also give a A++ to the 1st & 2nd grade teacher for enriching and educating my granddaughter. I do not want to forget the administrative staff they also get a A++ my how helpful they have been. Good job St Philip grandson attended St Philip
