Being a first time mom my hardest challenge has been finding a good school for my son. He is almost 3 and has been to 3 different facilities I’ve paid ass high as 1600 a month trying to send him to the best looking school or franchise. After seeing the same thing over and over I was referred to New Chapel I was unsure at first but they were beyond welcoming. They allowed my son to have two shadow days before making any financial commitment and he loved it. He’s in Ms.Taylors k2 class and absolutely adores her she is stern loving and fun and it shows in his excitement to learn. When he first started he was all over the place , both of his teacher identified the problem and worked with him one on one to get him in the mix and I was taken back by the dedication they have put into my 2 yr old. I highly recommend New Chapel my sons vocabulary is advanced along with his academics. One last thing New Chapel is operated as a family and to see teachers that have strayed for years and years means a lot to me!!

NCCA teachers are wonderful and I can't say enough about there leadership. Our child has exceeded our expectations.

We have seen our child develop over years. While we had some challenging times our child has grown into fine student. The school has been a remarkable place to build strong character.

I highly recommend this school for K3, K4, and K5( the grades my child attended). My son was reading in K4 and K5. In K5 he was doing addition and subtraction. He has had firm foundation at NCCA. We recently tested at a local well known school and we were told that our child was well equipped for 1st grade. We couldn't have chosen a better school.

My son attended NCCA from grades 2-4. I would admit my son had challenges as far as staying focused and behind in reading. I expressed my concerns with NCCA and they assured me that they will do everything possible to help keep him focused, monitor if he is on grade level, and follow an IEP I received from PGCPS. Once we left NCCA, he was promoted to 5th grade, my son's reading level was 2nd grade when tested at PGCPS, the same reading levels as when he began NCCA. No standardized testing was ever done to determine if he is actually on grade level or learning academically. Now we are playing catch-up with tutoring and summer school. Parents please do your homework.

My son is in PK3. In the beginning, he started the year with some issues adjusting to his new class. (He also attended NCCA for PK2) At back to school night the parents discovered the class size for PK3 was 20 students. We expressed our concerns and the administration quickly resolved this by restructuring the students evenly between the classes. My son has been thriving ever since.

In PK2 he was fully potty trained. He also learned to count from 1-20, as well as identifying colors, shapes and letters. This year so far, he is able to count to 50 and spell and write his name after only a few months. He is also able to draw his shapes and say his colors in Spanish. I know he is learning a lot of other things that he talks about non-stop on the ride home. There is a lot of sensory play and they focused on community helpers for a few weeks which he seemed to particularly enjoy.

The tuition here is below average so it will not compare to a more prestigious private school. However, I know my son is in a safe environment where he is loved and cared for. The staff may not be as professional as other establishments but all of their credentials are in order. For preschool, the tuition covers before and after care which allows you to have your child present from 6am-6pm. It also includes breakfast, lunch and a snack. I was paying the same thing for daycare so I figured he may as well learn something.

I must say, transitioning to NCCA from a home daycare setting took some getting used to. The principal was new that year and the communication was not exactly up to my personal standard. But this year I feel as though everyone went through a huge learning curve and things seem to be running much smoother. I plan to keep my son at NCCA at least through kindergarten.

My child is in pre-k 2 (fully potty trained class). The school is old, but my child has learned and a lot; from learning how to spell his name to knowing all his colors, shapes and numbers to 20. I am impressed with his vocabulary as well. I do work with my child at home, so I use school to enhance what I teach him and for social development. This school is strong for the pre-k years. It's not very diverse. The teaching staff could use additional professional development. The school could use renovating. However, overall my son learns a lot and the environment is safe. The teachers know all the kids and it's family oriented. The tuition is below average for most schools with full day prek2 and 3 classes.

I am a parent of a Second grade student attending NCCA. This school does a poor job at teaching. The Abekka curriculum is great when taught appropriately. But teachers must also think outside the box. The work my son brings home from this school is stuff he learned in 1st grade. (Not at this school) So, it is obvious that the teacher is clearly not challenging him. There is always some kind of behavioral issue going on in his class too. Whether it is someone picking with my son or other kids eating lead or glue and fighting. It appears that these students have too much time on their hands in the classroom when they should be learning. I really don't think the teacher is actually teaching them anything. I work with my son at home to keep him ahead, but I expect him to be challenged at school as well. So he will not be returning! Also, for the amount of money that people are paying to send their children to this school, the building should be updated. At least the stall door in the bathroom should have a lock on it! Parents please do your research on other schools in the county if you are looking for a private school! This school is overrated on this sight, if you ask me!

My child attends New Chapel Christian Academy. I agree this school does an extremely poor job at teaching our children. I truly believe that most of the teachers are lacking their teaching credentials or need 20th century professional/teaching development. This school does not have a library, a joke of a computer lab and an ineffective website that should be updated for imperative information as it relate to school closures, upcoming events and the latest school calendar. EVERYTHING IS antiquated, their teaching techniques and even the report cards, nothing is in the 20th century! Also, this school is in an extreme need for renovations, the roof leaks when it rains and the bathroom stalls don t lock. The ABEKA curriculum needs to be expanded; there are other Christian curriculums that encourage more hands on activities and critical thinking and less cursive writing, which is obsolete in the public school system. The new Principal is the WORST, no professionalism AT ALL! I would recommend a parent to do their research FIRST to ensure that you are getting everything you are paying for and ask the tough questions before you commit to NCCA, you may find better in public schools.

I am a current parent of a child at New Chapel. I would say the school does a good job with teaching my young child. My child's learning has advanced since enrolling. However, the faculty is very mature (older 50s-60s). Even some of the younger grade teachers and their thinking is outdated when it comes to children. In my opinion, they overuse repetitive/lengthy timeouts for PK2-PK3 kids who exhibit more energy and are more active. All of the younger classrooms are fully decorated with lots of toys but the kids are NOT allowed to touch any of the toys. They play over and over again with the same toys EVERY DAY. Some of the older teachers need to retire as they have no patience with younger kids and their energy levels. The building is outdated and in need of renovations. It is 35+ years old. I would say that there must be better schools in the county. And I would encourage anyone considering a christian private school for his/her child to check out all candidates. And, don't just visit the school, also talk to the parents in the parking lot or out at events. I've found doing this is invaluable. I am looking for another school. But my child seems to enjoy the class/classmates.

I would have to agree with all of the post submitted. New Chapel is a great school at the beginner levels, ages 2-6. Beyond that I would recommend another school Clinton Christian or public schools. I must admit, the class sizes are smaller in the higher grades but academically they are not in the 20th century. They continue to follow the Abecka curriculum, which is good, but they follow every single detail of the curriculum without thinking outside the box. I would prefer teaching by "thinking" not by "memorization". Especially, in areas of science, history, and language. They seem to teach without asking the students "why" or "what". Lastly, they seem to teach on a "one size fits all" strategy, not all kids learn the same and not all kids are on the same level academically. You would think by the class sizes the teachers could be more creative and provide additionally support if students need it.
