CPCS is THE best school in St Mary's county. It is a public school with no more than 20 students per class. Teachers know all the students, their strengths + weaknesses and that's why the curriculum is tailored to students' needs. Plus, parents are involved and volunteer which helps when monitoring kids. There is no disrespect from students and my kids are happy to go to school every day (which was not the case before we moved). You won't see that in any other school.

Every Friday, the whole school gathers in the gym and have a common time to discuss achievements and students' involvement in activities. It is a great way to develop a sense of community. Love it!

Great School. The parents seem to care a little more here. The teachers seem to want to be here. The I feel like the curriculum could be a little more rigorous, but you won't find a larger group of kids who actually WANT to go to school. There is a huge focus on reading early here and parents are expected to volunteer for 25 hours during the school year. The kids transferring out might be in for a culture shock, going from such a small school to some of the larger schools.

We love CPCS, the staff is really good, family oriented, however the 2nd grade curriculum is weak compare to other schoolst, math is very weark we have to support at home with more work,. There is no communication from the teacher, as you won't get any progress note from them unless you request it. In other words you don't know if your student is on track or if is falling behind.

We love Chesapeake Public Charter! The school is excellent! The teachers are wonderful and fun and it is a great learning atmosphere! Everyone including parents are very involved in the school!

This school is EXCELLENT! From the teachers, parents, and volunteers, everyone comes together as a community and are involved in every child's education. The activities they have, the field trips they take, and the opportunities the children have are tremendous!

my daughter began kindergarten at this school last year. I am overwhelmingly impressed with and pleased about the system, staff, and mission statement of this school! I am very gratefulthat LeiLani Biscoe is there and we are all worj=king together to ensure she obtains the academic acheivements, environmental awreness, and social skills she will need to be a successful and productive member in our community. Thank You Charter School faculty and members!
