After homeschooling for 9 years, my kids were ready to be in a more traditional classroom. We visited Grace and immediately knew it was the right place for them to finish their education. Grace has been the perfect fit for my three youngest children - all with distinct personalities and very different needs. The faculty and staff meet children where they are with a humble, connected, Christ-like attitude. They nurture natural curiosity and foster authentic relationships with peers. There is a palpable sense of community into which my children were immediately accepted! Not only that, the classical Christian education my children are receiving is top notch. I have been using the classical model for a long time and it's truly one of the best, most rigorous ways to educate children. We are so grateful that our family has found a special home at Grace!

We highly recommend Oak Grove Classical Christian School as we have been very happy with the classical education our children are receiving. They are thriving and are truly cared for by the teachers and staff who go above and beyond to ensure a wonderful learning experience for every child who attends. It's a special community and family to be a part of.

We have been with Oak Grove Classical Christian school on and off for years and are excited about enrolling all three of our boys for the 2018-19 year. They are hands down the best private Christian school and the only Classical model school in Harford County.
Their new campus is beautiful and will hopefully facilitate more growth in the student population in the years to come. Our kids love this school and my husband I can't say enough good things about it.

The leadership team of Dr. Jacqueline Hutcheson and Mrs. Glasgow compliment each other very well and their dedication to this school and its mission is second to none.

My oldest child started preschool with a speech delay and impulse control issues. The environment helped him really learn to thrive.

Every instance I've seen of children having an issue are dealt with in a gentle but firm manner. In all my years involved with this school I've never witnessed more than minor disagreements.

We have not had any bullying situations but the discipline is very fair and appropriate.

Excellent. My child has flourished in so many ways. We are very happy with the school. ItÂ’s a positive learning environment full of caring adults. My son is kinder and compassionate since he started attending OGCCS the last two years.

My son gets his homework done in a reasonable amount of time, by himself without any issues. When I thought he was getting too much homework at one point, I just let them know and they adjusted the amount.

The teachers are wonderful and caring. The go the extra mile.

Both of my children have attended OGCCS since 6th grade. Their education have been outstanding , but most importantly they are humble, kind and mature. They can defend their ideas and respect competing ideas. A classical education prepares children to learn, not just memorize.

In our limited experience with homework, we have seen that as parents, we are able to help our child/ren work through it on their own without confusion or changes in the processes/routine. We are able to provide support and help their independence grow as they move up in grades.

We have not personally dealt with any bullying issues. I know that the school has a non-tolerance approach and will deal with each matter if they were to occur in an appropriate, fair and proactive manner.

Our experience thus far has been positive and rewarding. This may sound silly, but I wish I was in grade school again so that I can have been taught the way that our child/ren are being taught. The use pneumonic, songs, verse, and other forms of memorization to help all levels of intellect and learning styles. The staff are welcoming and approachable for information. As the school continues to grow in its student body and space the opportunities for each grade is expanding. More extra curricular activities (sports, dance, music lessons) are available now that the school is moving to a different location. I continue to look forward to each new year as my child/ren move up in a grade and what they are learning about each day.

Great student and adult leaders and role models.

I feel as an SGA officer, the leadership we have and the roles we get aren't as much of a role as we should have.

individualized support for anyone with slight learning disabilities.

ALL TEACHERS, and ALL STAFF, will get on bullies, and shows them what to do in a given situation, and what they can do to stop in the future. Also, the students are grounded in respect so when they see any of this going on, it will for sure be taken care of.

Most of the homework is very good and decently challenges, and usually doesnt take over an hour or two, but the balancing is very off at times... Some days we can get 5 minutes of homework, which is nice, but other days it seems to never end.

Fantastic teachers... Strong bonds to all of them, and since the school is so small, there is an actually student-teacher connection, and if there are any problems, going to them works very well in resolving.

Classical Model, morals, natural respect, and the mutual liking for education creates a great environment to develop character.

Administration is incredible and invested in each and every students development

Strangers stop my wife and comment how well behaved and courteous our girls are. Id love to take all the credit but I know the classical Christian model has a lot to do with it as well

Couldn't ask for a more hands on approach from each teacher we've experienced thus far. Our girls love their teachers and it shows in how much they strive to do more for them each day

Our girls are well equipped for all tests due to the amount of homework and level of reviews provided each evening

An incredible blessings. We have 3 children in the school, the oldest from the beginning 6 years ago. Lord willing, they will all grow up and graduate at OGCCS. A Christ centered, classical model is at the center of every class. How many other 3rd grader students are learning Latin in todays system of education? Bible memory with a school chaplain that invests in each student's Eternal well being delivers incredible chapels each Wednesday morning - with an open invitation to parents to attend and hear what their children are learning. The teachers, staff and administration have hearts big enough to care for each student and always willing to give so very much of themselves.

The quality of education is extremely lacking. High school students who do not know proper grammar rules, many homework assignments do not make sense, and an extreme lack of integrity and honesty involved with the administration.
Now, do not get me wrong. Many of the teachers are wonderful people.
I do not see the classical model in practice here. My child passed their class with flying colors, but when I challenge them about what they learned they seem to have no clue. I'm having to do clarification work at home to try and make up for the lack they are getting at school.

This is our 3rd year at OGCCS and we are so blessed to have our children attend this wonderful school! When you walk into the building, there is a sense of community, grace and support. We love the classical model style of teaching and how that fosters a tightly woven relationship between the students of all ages and between the staff and students. Smaller class sizes create a atmosphere where the students receive more thorough attention and interaction with their teachers. The teachers and staff are passionate about their calling to see their students grow, thrive and succeed not just in academics but also in their character and relationship with others and with God. This is not a business, this is a family that is characterized by their motto ~ grace and truth.

We started at the beginning of this year (2013-2014) and our girls love the small class sizes and how much the teachers care about them. This is truly a school where Christ is reflected and grace is administered! I highly recommend this to you if you are looking for a loving, caring school with a deep emphasis on education!

This is our second year at Oak Grove and we love the school. The teachers and staff care deeply about their students and it shows. The other parents are all lovely and friendly. My kids both love going to school.

Our son graduated from Oak Grove Classical Christian School collectively, we had a very positive experience of the curriculum, faculty, staff, service opportunities, and other aspects of the School. It set an ideal foundation for our son continuing on to university. We would highly recommend Oak Grove to parents and students looking for a classical and Christian education.

This is our second year at Oak Grove. The school provides a loving, christian environment for children to learn and grow, with a progressive trend toward higher academics, behavior, and personal development. The administration and faculty truely care about the students, and coupled with a modern facility, Oak Grove offers everything a student needs. Our daughter loves attending school each day, and the other families are friendly, with solid values. We highly recommend this school to any family looking for a loving, educational environment for their child.
