My older granddaughter went to Evergreen and K-5, and for the most part had a wonderful experience. Now my younger granddaughter is going there and has been since K and she is now in the 5th grade. I can't say anything bad about Evergreen. My youngest granddaughter has ADHD badly and they've been more than helpful and respectful to my grand daughter. We also have recently had a family set-back and the school has been more than helpful and supportive with helping with our needs. Thank you Evergreen for everything you've done for our family. We greatly appreciate it.

Up until my 5th grade year I loved this school. My 5th grade teacher went on maternity leave and I had a TERRIBLE long term sub. She taught us nothing and let kids do whatever they want. I had to get picked up early multiple times because my stomach was in so much pain form anxiety that I couldn’t walk. Then we had another teacher, who was better, but not great. The staff does not properly discipline children. They believe in “positive reinforcement” but many teachers at this school are great. So if you can hang in there, you’ll make it through the year.

No, they are very prejudice here towards the families of color.

I would give a 0 Star if I could. On top of being an unpleasant and snobbish environment for my child, they make false reports to DHS. He's often made complaints about how rude the teachers have been especially when he's needed help with certain subjects. He has told me his teacher has yelled at him out of frustration when he was stuck on a tough subject in class. I have also stayed in contact with them via email during this pandemic, yet they decided to make a false report saying we haven't been doing anything to further his education at all! I am grateful I have the emails as proof. They treat people of color horribly at this school because I haven't heard anything like this from the other parents.

My son struggled with homework, the teachers did not help.

This school provides an environment ideal for its student and their families to thrive and excel based upon their unique needs. Teachers go above and beyond the call of duty. The family involvement is exemplary. Our family has satisfactory experience from pre-k to 5th grade. We first move to this town when our oldest was in 5th grade. She had a great 5th grade year. As well as 4th grade, kindergarten and Pre-K for the rest of our children. Our children that have moved on to Middle School were very well prepared.

Evergreen is absolutely the best! The teachers and staff are amazing! I love that the principal is one who is outside in the mornings, saying hello, walks around in the cafeteria during lunch time, and is just very inviting. The parent involvement is top notch! My child has done excellent at this school, and I tell everyone that Evergreen is absolutely the best Elementary school in St.Mary's County!

My son attended Evergreen for 3rd and 4th grade. The first year was wonderful. He had a great teacher who really cared about her students! His grades were fantastic and he loved going to school. His second year was not the same! He dealt with bullying by the same group of boys the entire year. It got to the point I instructed him to defend himself since the school wasn't doing it! His grades suffered and his teacher even told him he was putting himself in a position to be bullied instead of helping him. My son participated on the math team and the school play and enjoyed during both. But sadly the bullying made him no longer enjoy going to school! I asked to speak to the parents of the child doing most of the bullying and was told that was not allowed. Luckily my son pointed out another boy's mother and she and I spoke. Only to find out her son was also bullied by the same kids and the school did nothing! Academically the school is great but they need to work on how they deal with bullying!

ALL were excellent. I especially like ART and PE

Excellent. I love the school bus pick up and delivery in MD, Evergreen has concerts and plays...what I recommend is you video record all performances and sell dvd (for $10) to parents SINCE NO ONE can ever see or hear the performance!!!

PLEASE DO THIS

EXCELLENT school. So happy we are here now instead of Hollywood. Principal and 2 VP are involved, active, and more importantly proactive. School has strong leadership and it shows. Teachers, students, and parents are happy and joyful at this school. Administrative staff excellent, efficient, helpful, and pleasant.

This is a great school. The teachers and administration staff are wonderful. My child enjoyed it for two years. Sad to have moved away.
