Excellent! The Diener School has transformed our son’s life in incredibly positive ways. Not only is he making progress academically, but he feels like he has “found his people.” He loves school and can’t wait to see his teachers and friends every day. He has become a joyful and confident learner. That confidence and joy has spilled over into every other aspect of his life. We are so grateful for the Diener teachers and administrators!

“I think I’ve found it” my wife said excitedly on the phone one morning while I was at work. She had just visited The Diener School and knew right away that this was the place for our son. His ADHD had posed challenges that other schools, including a very expensive private religious school in Potomac, had utterly failed to meet… despite small class sizes and ample resources. What we realized after just a few months at Diener is that commitment, understanding, and training are more important than anything else when it comes to educating children who learn differently.

Now in our fourth year at this amazing school, we have been very happy. More importantly, our son loves school, loves his teachers, loves his classmates, and is learning and performing at or above grade level. This is because of a staff that knows how to work with kids and their families, applies creative techniques, and is geared toward meeting kids where they are and helping them to succeed and thrive. What Diener lacks in facilities (about to change!) is more than made up in the quality of teaching staff, and that’s what matters most. Happily, thanks to strong new leadership, the school is about to relocate to a great new facility with state-of-the-art classrooms, gym and outdoor playgrounds, and more. And the 2020-21 school year will see a great expansion into Middle School. We look forward to that.

The homework for our child has been just right. It builds a home-school connection and reinforces material taught during the day -- without loading them down in the evening with oodles of busy work.

The teachers make Diener what it is. They are thoughtful, well trained, and caring. They all seem to authentically love their jobs, the kids, and each other. Our head of school calls them her Dream Team, and we could not agree more.

Diener has been a life-changing experience for our child. The teachers work tirelessly to ensure that each child is getting what they need socially and academically. Plus, they have fun. Our child loves school for the first time in his life. We are thrilled that the Diener administration has invested in expanding to middle school.
