We moved to Huntingtown specifically for Huntingtown Elementary. It was worth it in so many ways. Principal Fulton and staff are amazing and caring towards all of the students. My child not only excelled but felt acceptance from all around her. The educators at this school and in this county have gone above and beyond to ensure my child had adequate services, resources. equipment, therapies and educational opportunities. I highly recommend.

We love it at HES! My daughter excells academically and loves going to school everyday. After school clubs and events make it even better.

We love our elementary school. The teachers and volunteers truly care about each and every child. A wonderful atmosphere for effective learning. A mandated curriculum change has been a challenge for all but the teachers have handled it very professionally. Thank You

My experience at this school was absolutely horrible. The counselor mrs.nycum asked a bully if they were bullying the student. After the student said no my child was accused of lying. There effective learning plan is telling student's other students test answers.

The guidance counselor, Michelle Nycum, believes that she has a PH.D. after her name and takes it upon herself to diagnose students with ADHD and Aspergers. This is totally out of line and iresponsible, but she has been there forever. It will be a happy day when she retires, so that she can't damage other children there.

MI Chelly Nycum, the guidance counselor, is lost and delusional. She is so comfortable in her tenure, that she steps way out of line with her "diagnoses" of the children.

Some teachers were very good, but others were very one-dimensional and only knew what to do with a cookie-cutter kid. Any child that didn't fit a norm was labeled with "special problems."

This is an absolutely amazing school! My children have thrived in this caring environment because the teachers, administrators, and volunteers truly do love their jobs. They truly love to teach and are so dedicated to their students well beyond school hours. We moved here because we heard Calvert County is where you want to be for a great education. Best choice we could have made! The amount of opportunities available to the students at Huntingtown Elementary is astounding. School plays, MESA, Destination Imagination, Lego Robotics, Math Team, and an assortment of before and after school clubs. The dedication to students is so apparent. My children have gone to many school across the county and HES is by far the best we have seen. They come home happy, excited to share their day, and ready to go with enthusiasm the next day. As a parent, high standards, diverse instruction, and happy kids is a winning combination. I think very highly of HES and will be sad when all of my kids are too old and move on from this wonderful school.
