It is run as a dictatorship where parents have no rights over their own children. The way the children are treated by most staff and administrators is mentally abusive. If I had any other options my children would not go there.

Its a good school after all but there could be some differences and changes to be made. Love the NMS community!

The staff and teachers aren't too good with working out any homework. They often give hard projects and an overload of homework on the first week of school, at least for 6th graders. And they give it out at a late notice and are VERY strict about their homework policy. I absolutely dislike how if you are working on a test on the first week of school and get every problem correct except for one, they literally will give you a 50 or completely fail you on H.A.C.

The teachers and staff aren't very affective towards students but I guess this problem is just neutral and general. If you say you are being bullied, some teachers will help but most teachers, especially just guidance counselors, will shrug their shoulders to difficulties and problems such as bullying with/between a student and another student.

I can strongly agree with this statement, as well, as a fellow parent of a student who currently goes to this school.

I can strongly agree with this statement, because there are positive influences in the school and there is strong leadership, but I would definitely say that the respectfulness and leadership policy goes a bit too far.

This is a good school after all but meant to rate it 4/5 stars instead of a 5/5. Still a pretty great school and they definitely support students with learning differences and disorders, as of what I have seen and what I can say.

Not very good at dealing with bullying, their a bit careless but it could be worse.

Absolutely terrible. Was bullied, made fun of, ostracized but no one cared. They’re lucky I didn’t kill myself or anything

Don’t care if someone was being bullied

Posted: June 26, 2019

They allow people to tease others and don’t care about helping people

Lol. They looked the other way and didn’t care when I said I was being bullied. When I told the guidance counselor he was mostly concerned about if those who were bulling me had been in his office before. He said he’d get back to me but never did. The Vice Principal didn’t care when I told her. Don’t send your kids here if you want the administration to not care that they’re being bullied.

LOVE NMS! My second child will complete 8th grade this year. Both of my children have had positive experiences at NMS. Plenty of opportunity for students to get involved and such a caring staff!

Wonderful teachers, administration, programs, clubs, sports, and PTSA.
The school building itself and lockers are a little dated and could use some sprucing up...

Love this school! Teachers are hard, but fair and they seem to really care. It like a private school education at a public school.

I came to this school for the years 2011-2012. The school was very unlikable for me. Most teachers assume and office staff assumed my learning differences and differences was a behavriol problem and would not be willing to understand me and instead, threaten me (with school stuff such as detention). If you get after school detention, they make you do 2 hours of custodian work. One time, an administrator pressured one of my teachers to disobey and break my 504. I was overall bullied by numerous teachers and pressured to get on the bus when it was okay for my mom to pick me up. An administrator even threatened to pick me up if I didn't move faster.

I have been at this school for 3 years, and there has been constant and serious bullying happening in the past 3-4 years. The students are also lacking and getting even lazier. The amount of respect they have against school property, students, and teachers are horrendous. Everybody is not treated as they should be because some people find theirselves to be higher than others at a perspective. The student population is also increasing, which means you get less help from teachers and an average class has 20-35 students. I have been very dissapointed with this school. Worst 3 years of my life.
