My son really has appreciated the experience at this school. I as a parent find the communication with parents a bit lacking but when I have contacted a teacher have received a gracious response..

My child is a year 4 student here and all and all, I'm happy with his education. I have very mixed feelings about having sent my child here vs the traditional high school setting. The school does offer quality education with the college courses, but abundantly lacks with a social existence and social activities. I will be the first to tell you, education comes first. Well, I've learned alongside my child, that the social side, while not as important as the education side, is still very very essiential, and at this school, it's non existent. IN addition, this school is a fairly new school and it's more interested in "the school" (right now)than the students. I think, it's impacted my child (negatively) being a part of a "new" school. When applying to colleges, I found that they were very interested in the middle college concept, but ultimately, I got the sense that they felt this experience was too new (in our area). We will deal with the hand that we've been dealt, but please look at all angles when considering this middle college for the next several years. While it has fantastic possibilties and can ultimately turn into something great, it's not there yet.

I am very pleased with my child's academic success so far. The faculty and staff are great. Dr. Andrews really loves these kids and it shows. So glad we are a part of this wonderful program.

I love AHS@PGCC, the administrative staff genuinely care about the students well being, safety and learning. The daily school routine is pretty structured and the students know what to expect and they act accordingly. The students are definitely put on the right track to becoming high achievers, accountable, independent and team goal oriented. The school prepares the students for college courses in the 9th grade and they advance through the 11th, by the 12th grade they are taking all college course and prepared to graduate with a high school diploma and an Associates Degree. I commend the high school administrators, college administrators, students and parents for their part in making the program work.

This is the first year the school is to capacity. As a new school I believe the administration is making appropriate adjustments to the program to ensure safety and education of students. The school provides academic challenge without an overload of work (quantity). The Guidance counselors and teachers quickly respond to requests, questions, and concerns. The students get along well and support each other socially, even outside of school. This school allots students an opportunity to earn an Associates degree while earning a HS diploma. This year will be its first graduating class. Kudos to Dr. Andrews and her team. The staff is connected to the students and program. They get to know the students by name.

The Academy of Health Sciences at PGCC provides a very challenging experience for the students in a well supported academic environment. My daughter attends the school and loves it! Her administrators/teachers/professors are very knowledgeable and the students enjoy the small school size compared to the more traditional high school options. Students who are afforded this opportunity should definitely attend! The bonus of receiving an Associate's degree at the conclusion of their academic experience is well worth it!
