So far my kids have only had 6 teachers but out of them 5 were / are fantastic! The other one was still a good teacher but she was a bit too strict & homework heavy. That's not just my opinion either, many other parents have said the same. Just her teaching style I suppose.

I think that they do try and instill a good sense of character in the kids. Last year they tried a behavioral board & this year they are doing a cool, fun houses program akin to Harry Potter houses lol. Most of the kids here are really great.

The principals here are very involved & I really couldn't ask for more from them. Always connected, knowledgeable about events, & even about individual students...that's nearly 600 kids!

Teachers try to mitigate bullying as best they can. My kids have said that they don't get bullied often at all (and I ask). One of my kids got picked on 1 time last year but it was a single instance & it's never happened again to either of them. I have to attribute that to the character building & teacher vigilance.

Overall, I think PPES is great! They are very open, easy to communicate with, they provide the kids plenty of opportunities such as: art, music, physical activities, band, media, drama club, chorus, & lots of awesome events and field trips! I have no idea how this place isn't a 10/10. I would recommend this school to anyone. Please keep up the great work PPES!

PPES recently adopted a virtual homework / communication system. It has made contacting teachers via email & messaging very convenient and also nearly eliminates the old missing school work problem that happens when your child misses a day. Everything is online!

My son has been a student here for going on two years. Mrs. Morton is an exceptional principal and she is always visible/approachable at every school function. The school is tremendous at communication to the parents in every manner possible. The staff is courteous and exceptional. I can't say how happy my son is a student at this school!

PPES is a warm and inviting place for children to learn. The administration is very informative. They listen and respond to concerns in a timely manner. The teaching staff is wonderful! They dedicate countless hours to our children.

What used to be an excellent school has degenerated into a mess in the 2014-2015 school year. Why? Because most of the teachers are doing a "silent" protest over their salary/contract. As an employee, I understand their plight but they are doing this at the expense of our kids. My daughter's teacher is purposely not replying to emails/notes sent in, not doing anything extra (like showing up to open house), and doing the absolute bare minimum in terms of academia. We have spoken to the (new) principal but there is nothing she can really do about these teacher's behavior. We moved to Calverty for the great schools - unfortunately, it is not currently true.

I've had three children go to pump in elementary school.the parent teacher and faculty involvement is above any standards of schools that I have been envolved with. Mrs. King is a wonderfull prinicible. Nurse Betty Lynn always keep me informed of any sickness is that are going to through the school. the teachers are prompt with keeping us informed of any events and continuously involve parents for anything was going on with the building.I'm thankful for such a great school for my children. Plum Point Elementary, Huntingtown,.is a disappointment in that they do not have lessons for bright kids who need challenge and stimulation, it seems they teach 'down' to ensure the slower learners stay up with the top third of classes. And the top 15 % have to deal with boredom. It's not right to cause good students who want to learn to sit thinking about how much they don't like school. Also, the school has had the same photo page for years --never adding anything, it's just trophys. Is it really hard to post photos of classes and actiities? I have found the calendar lacking, often an activity or some get together is listed way too close to the date so one doen't have time to make plans to attend and there are way too few times for parents to visit the classroom s, Back to school night should not be the only time for a casual visit with one's child doing the 'tour.' Lastly, when so many kids have split parents, it is terrible for them to be asked to draw/write about their family. SINGLE WORD. It should be Families, in one case a little boy asked if he could so both his daddy and mommy separate, unbelivably the teacher said no, pick one. Yes, it resulted in tears at home.

I am very happy with the school. They have great parent involvement and really try to create a sense of community. They are very in tune with my son's needs and diligently work with him to help him progress. PPE is very communicative with us and having gone to a private school myself, overall I don't think we could have found a better education for our son.

Plum Point is a very good school. I was a student there 6 years ago and miss every bit of it! I learned a lot from the great teachers that were there and also the environment around me. I wish I could go back!!
