LCS has become much more than just the school my children attend. My family has been part of the Legends Charter School community since the very beginning. My child was part of LCSs very first kindergarten class when the school first opened during COVID. So, in many ways, weve had the opportunity to grow right alongside the school.

As a parent and volunteer, Ive had the opportunity to see the school from the insidethe staff, administrators, parents, and volunteers who genuinely care about our scholars and often work behind the scenes to make their experiences special.

Is LCS perfect? No school is. There have been things Ive disagreed with and areas where I believe there is room for improvement. But Ive also seen people listen, step up, solve problems, and continue showing up for our children.

Some of my favorite memories have come from being involved in the events, celebrations, and experiences created for our scholars and from the relationships Ive built along the way.

My advice to families considering LCS is simple: get involved, ask questions, attend events, and experience the community for yourself. Through the good, the challenges, and everything in between, Im proud to be part of the Legends community.

Legend Charter School has provided my child with exciting academic and social experiences. The staff are engaged and care about their students. The building is modern and beautiful. I especially love that they take an approach that allows all students to be challenged with advanced work and they teach financial literacy. I would absolutely recommend Legends and so would my child.

My son started at Legends Public Charter School in 2nd grade and is now entering 8th grade. Academically, Ive watched Legends continue to raise the bar year after year. Their academic scores are among the top in PGCPS, and their scholars are competing with students across the state. I also love that financial education begins as early as kindergarten, along with teaching scholars leadership, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

What has kept our family at Legends for all these years, though, is the love. Teachers and staff genuinely know, love, support, and challenge my child. That has played a huge role in building his confidence and self-esteem.

I also appreciate the schools approach to behavior and social-emotional development. They have a full team focused on restorative conversations, conflict resolution, accountability, and helping scholars learn emotional regulation. The goal isnt simply disciplineits teaching children how to make better choices.

Does Legends have growing pains and things to improve? Absolutely. Every school does. What I appreciate is that they listen to parent feedback, make adjustments, and continue improving.

Seven years later, we are still here, still growing, and still proud to be a Legends family. We love Legends!

Legends Charter School has truly been like family to us. Both of my children have attended since the school first opened, and Ive always appreciated the supportive and caring environment. The staff takes the time to understand each child and provides the academic support they need to grow and succeed. Im grateful that my children have been part of the Legends family from the very beginning!

theres so much I love about Legends Charter School, including the cofounders and their commitment to giving our community a legendary experience that is tuition free what I appreciate is the financial education curriculum that has pushed me as a parent to open fun and invest in the stock market among a majority teachers of Culler. We are so lucky to have Legends Charter School in Prince Georges County.

My kids are currently in kindergarten in this school. Initially we were excited for them to attend here. The curriculum looked great. There's potential in this school. My tiff is with the staff. I often find myself with miscommunication and lack of professionalism. There's also a lack of communication between the teachers amoung themselves and not to mention a constant of disorganization. It's frustrating. The kids are currently in the county's lottery for their Spanish Immersion program. If that doesn't come through, they will just have to attend their home based school. The headache dealing with Legends is not worth it.

The school had a serious challenge, opening right at the onset of Covid. However, it was still a very refreshing, exciting and intriguing new approach to the PG school system. One immediate concern, was seeing a very female dominant administration. I thought, ok... this should be interesting to see. Then quickly educators started dropping like flies. This pointed to something flawed at the top. I mean the BEST educators were leaving after one year, every single year! This left the school with what they have now. The very dedicated educators that genuinely love what they do overall, have stuck it out. But I swear there's very very few of those left, from 2020 to 2025. Someone mentioned the principal turnovers too - correct. Most recent Interim principal is an awesome person. She has that special something and tried her best. I definitely wish the newly stated principal the best. Teachers outright failing students with no compassion to catch the children at the pass - phone parents, warn them etc. Communicaton used to be better. Adults in that building look stressed out trying to be 3 different people at once. Even their new traffic personnel are - I won't be disrespectful. I'll simply say the decline is astounding and I wish this school didn't plummet so badly, so fast. It had so much potential. Lastly, much falls on parent engagement too. These schools can't do it all, alone. Educators are stretched THIN and need the help and understanding too. So if parents can't volunteer or donate ... at minimum they can be present with their children's academics and behavior. The sense of community needs to be restored.

In this school the teachers are very nice and not just in it for the money they really want students to thrive .but there are some down areas one. My mental health was very bad when I went to this school I was getting talked about and didn't know even when I told a admin they did nothing. I think they need some new admins

This school severely lacking in several areas. One, as there is a lack of teachers nationwide, there is a lack of plans for when teachers are absent. Students are constantly behind as work will be assigned but not given to students, so grades end up dropping. In the second quarter, I got an A in my math class even though we didn't even have any assignments. There is also a lack of discipline in the school which makes it so students who actually want to learn and advance can't because their peers don't ever receive punishment. This year (eighth grade) we got a week of silent lunch for SEVENTH GRADE getting in a fight. Makes no sense, right? The lack of discipline and teachers creates a terrible learning environment. Do not send your students her unless you want them to be in an environment where they feel as though they can't learn.

The school is a big playground and honestly a joke. They claim that their school is above the standards of Prince Georges County School District and to be honest that is far from being true. Theyre behind in everything. They cant keep a teacher to save their lives. Principals change sometimes twice a year. If your child is absent from being sick good luck with trying to get their makeup work. The teachers hardly communicate with you unless their is an issue. They do not take these children on any field trips. They hardly even school activities. Their LPO aka parent committe does not do a thing for the kids. They are only worried about monthly dues. FAVORTISM with the children is certainly noticed! This is not the school for your child! Trust me! Save yourself the headache and do not enroll your children here. It will be nothing but a headache and a waste of time. They will not learn!
