Leadership and classroom management of inexperienced teachers are troubling concerns.

From my experience with an administrator currently here is that he conducts faulty investigations and appears to be more concerned with issuing consequences rather than building relationships and positive teaching moments . I recommend parents in Charles County to review what is being documented in your student's discipline file. I discovered a trend. You may write a response to what was documented.

Homework consisted of printed out sheets that made absolutely no sense. I don't believe the teacher went over this material with the students at all, from my impression it seems like second grade homework was Googled and print it from some random site

Unfortunately my second grader was placed in a classroom with a teacher that was fresh out of college and had no idea or experience on how to run a classroom ordeal with the typical 2nd grader in regards to behavior or intellect.

I wouldn't say that this school properly handles bullying in the most effective manner being as though my son came home on several days and told me that he was being pushed around by several students but for some reason the only time I was called or even notified was when my child was the aggressor

I really wanted to like this school but I didn't have the most pleasant experience. I actually only kept my son here for three months and then pulled him out and sent him to a school within the District of Columbia

My daughter is in kindergarten. She has really thrived and grown socially. Her teacher Ms. Boley is excelllent and a great communicator. The school is like a family. A love the activities they have for families after school. The principal is awesome and very personable. Sorry to see him leave this year. I would highly recommend this school.

I agree. I have seen diferent members of the staff from teacher, to aid, to principal and counselors encouraging the children to be open and honest about feelings.

Great teacher and love the education and time dedicated. The only issue I have is with how the principal especially vise principal deal with student issues. The vise principal seems inexperienced and careless.

We pulled our child out of this school. Some of the administrators are excellent, but the principal at the time and the teachers were not satisfactory.

Barnhart is a very good school. The staff and teachers are great. The administrators are fantastic. Everyone is one there A game. The kids are great with learning and being friends.

I love Barnhart and especially my daughter's 4 grade teacher Ms. Johnson. In my opinion, she was the best teacher my daughter had. She does not coddle her students, she expects the best from them no exceptions. Ms. J also keeps parents informed and that is essential to helping children succeed. Thanl you.

Sometimes all it takes is a smile, a hello and a big thank to let your school know that you appreciate what they've accomplished with your child. So when you drop off or pick up your child this year say "Good Morning!" , "Good Evening!" , "Have a good day" or whatever good comes to heart. It'll make your day feel brighter or pick your spritis up knowing your child(ren) are in good hands. I know I do:)
