Everything about this school is so wrong they are only worried about the Hispanic kids ,for example BLACK HISTORY MONTH is just that trying to include Latin,African and carribean is disrespectful to the black Americans the fault for freedom and justice so other could use it as a personal gain or recognition factor without showing respect to the black Americans that paved the way for you and dont want to forget how they constantly made it seem like my child was a trouble maker when hes trying to make new friends ,its not his fault Hispanic kids dont understand English

My 3 kids attend to Arthur Middleton and they love it!! Were so happy to be part of this school. The principal Mr. D, Mr. buzz B, the 2 beautiful front ladies:), and all the teachers especially, Mrs. K , Mrs. Griffith,Mrs. Riddick, Mrs. Peed, Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. Berry, Ms. Wiener and Mrs. Murphy are my kids heroes. All of them have helped in a wonderful way my kids to succeed academically. I cant thanks enough those beautiful people!
And I encouraged more parents to volunteer or become a substitute teacher for one day to see what those teachers go through every day!

My child enjoyed going to school everyday. Coming from a school where he was bullied, Arthur Middleton took great care of him. He actually grew a lot here! The teachers and administration are the best!

The 2015-2016 administration is horrible. Do not choose this school. This school is just a job to teacher. No one is passionate about their craft. Hot mess starting at 1st grade...

The teachers are good. The children are not handled properly so many times kids are running and screaming and knocking other kids over yelling obscenities bullying name calling teasing is a big issue all they do is make the whole class suffer obviously the children misbehaving don't care if their classmates suffer or not I know it has a lot to do with home and parenting but this should not be allowed the parents should have some conseqences for encouraging this behavior but thatll never happen so the well behaved children will just get tortured I would rather put my children in the dc public school system but we have to enroll our kids where zoning says unless you have thousands

This school is satisfactory, if not great. I'd probably give a 3.5 out of 5 if that was an option. I have a special needs child, and getting her integrated was a little bumpy, but in the end we're getting her what she needs. The staff is friendly, and the teachers have varied in quality from ok to very good, but overall they have been acceptable. We transferred our daughter from Barnhart which we hated, so in comparison this is a good school, albeit not our first choice.

I'm a parent of a son with special needs. AMES has not been a pleasant experience. I believe the staff isn't knowledgable on how to create a lesson plan for children with his challenges. Instead of helping my child the staff reprimands him. After this school I will pay for private school. Not only is the staff under educated. The school building is dated. Students attend classes in large cubicles. I was utter shock to see how old and dated the school is. Because AMES is zoned for us he attend this sad place. Wade is closer to our home however Waldorf zoned us for AMES. It's been a nightmare for me and my son. Children with special needs are a gift not a curse. AMES should become more sensitive and knowledgable on how to teach children such my son.
