I have had 2 children at this school. Family engagement is extremely high--all activities are well planned and well attended. This school has a lot of continuity--teachers stay a long time and get to know families and students, many people in the area attended the school, sent their kids to the school, and generally support the school. The specials classes (art, music, gym, library) are good and the extracurricular activities are also good. Just a tight-knight, well-run school that is one of the smaller elementary schools in Harford County. My children will go to private school for middle school and high school but we never once thought about sending them to private school for elementary because this school was so good.

This is probably the best elementary School in Harford county and the high test scores reflect that fact. The other schools that have similar scores are much larger (Youths Benefit and Homestead-Wakefield). Churchville is close knit, better music and arts, and staff tend to stay at the school longer. Love this school.

The school has many great programs for advance students. The principal is working with her heart. Should be the best elementary school in Harford county.

With over 7 years of experience at Churchville Elementary, it truly is an amazing school. My children have both graduated and are currently attending Churchville Elementary. We have found the teachers/staff to be dedicated to individual student learning and create safe/friendly learning environments for all students. The needs of the students are assessed on a regular basis and curriculum is designed/modified to meet the individual learning styles. The office staff is very friendly, always willing to answer questions and help to keep the school running successfully. The PTA is an active presence in the school and provide unique learning experiences for the students through field trips, assemblies, guest speakers, etc.

The teachers are so committed to the kids. THe smaller class sizes really allow the teachers to get to know all the kids personally.

When I went to Churchville, the teachers were very encouraging. I always had straight A's going there. The teachers always provided positive feedback to each student, including myself. There was only one teacher that was not very liked by students and parents, but the principal took care of that situation very quickly. There were no fights that occurred. It's one of the rarest thing that happens at that school. Every once in a while during the school year, they have activities like Survivor and Field Day. They also have a Spring Carnival every year, opened to the public as well. The Kindergarten building is separate from the first through fifth graders, which should be more comfortable for a child just starting out school. This only is true for Churchville because it was built over 80 years ago, and kindergarten hasn't been around that long. Don't worry, the buildings are in very excellent condition. To any parent reading this and looking for a school for their child/children, because this is coming from a former student who went to Churchville all six years, I highly recommend this school to any parent/guardian. Your child/children should have so much fun there. Just like I did.

We had a pretty good experience last year with our children's education. We have a "normal" child and a child that has an IEP with learning disabilities. This year hasn't gone as well as last in regard to our child with an IEP. The math program in Harford County Public schools is AWFUL, especially when you have a child with math learning disabilities. I feel like my childs teachers dropped the ball on his math education by not changing their approach to help him succeed. We are very displeased with the whole experience this year. Some testing and changes are being made, but we wonder if it is too late. Over half of the school year has gone by and when we really do figure out how to best help our child, the school year will be practically over. For our normal functioning child, the school is fine. We heard after moving here that Churchville was the best place to send your child if they have an IEP. So much for No Child Left Behind. My child is falling farther and farther behind. Looking at other schools for my child/children.

We have had an excellent experience at Churchville Elementary School. It is a small school where the teachers and administrators know the parents and children. Our daughter has in IEP and everyone we've dealt with at CES has been very supportive of her. Great school.
