My son went to Pre-K and is now in Kindergarten this year. The staff/teachers are absolutely amazing. You can feel the energy they have and passion for what they do there. The direct communication from the teachers is amazing. We receive texts at least weekly and sometimes on a daily basis highlighting different activities my son is engaged with. I feel like we get a glimpse into his world of learning. I feel as a parent they not only care about the student but the student's family as well. My son thrives in the environment that is created there. The other amazing thing is it's not just the classroom teacher that knows my son but whole staff knows him by name and engages with him. We experienced this during the open house where multiple school staff remembered him by name, chatted with him about his summer, and got him excited about coming back to school.

Both of my kids have gone here since pre-k. The school itself does pretty well with their kids. Neither of my children had been picked on, or upset by anything.
I had to reach out to the teachers a few times - and I always felt like my concerns about their academics were brushed off. My oldest had some reading trouble when she was younger, and her teachers just told me it was her age (she was in 2nd / 3rd) she did grow out of it and she's a pretty good reader now going into 6th.

My youngest has ADHD and I've had some difficulties getting her and effective IEP.
But the teachers are responsive and my kids seem to like them. No huge issues.

They teach my child how to have PRIDE (prepared, respect, intelligence, determination, engaging) with everything they do.

The principal and assistant principal have an open ear to hear all concerns and ideas from parents and teachers. The administration is STRONG you can tell they all work very well together.

They work very hard with each individual child to create a plan that works for each student. They go above and beyond with communication and want nothing but the child to succeed.

I would say on a scale from 1-10. This school is on the low end of a 4. With that said there are some fields not mentioned on this survey that the school works great with. Such as the bus system making sure no pre schooler is wondering so to say and wonderful front office staff. Mrs. Hamilton is just the sweetest lady ever. It's a wonder how this school has even made it thus far with it's low standards and poor support for all the children

Both my eldest two children go to this school and have been since last year. With that said the teachers do not enforce homework. Last year the teacher didn't collect the homework when it was due. I wrote numerous notes to the teacher each response I was given if at all was my son refused to do the work there for he didn't understand. This year my children have been in school nearly a month and hav not even been given homework. I have asked twice now and the staffing excuse is it's still early in the year. How can a child properly get the full education that they are entitled to when they are only recieveing it part time?

My son has ADHD and my daughter suffers from depression. Both with high anxiety. My son was made a target last year by the staffing. Every little move my son makes or has made the teacher reports him as being bad. I have asked for daily reports to show my son's pattern to effectively treat him in counseling and the teacher refuses. In fact she won't even communicate through email she puts it off on to the head principal. My poor daughter has been left with no teacher because she was outside gathering other children off the bus. When we asked other staffing where she was we were sent on a wild goose chase. Which has upsetted my daughter to the point she just stands there and cries because she doesn't know what else to do. I have went to the school board about this twice asking for a boundary exemption and the answer is no. What ever happened to no child left behind and not should a child suffers from bullying?

I will say that the school has taught my children to share better and use their manners.more accordingly. Which I love by the way. However they shouldn't teach the children that everyone is your friend. In my personal opinion that instills in a small child that just because a stranger pulls up and says hey can we be friends that the child can do so and you can fill the blanks in.

The school has no problem with authority. Rather it be positive or negative. I had a parking attendant walk into the back of my truck on purpose because she already seen me backing up and claimed that I hit her. Never once did she say hey you hit me hey I need your information help me I been hit nothing. However the school waits till a couple days later to put a banning letter in effect even though I am truly a single parent with two children in school nor did they even hear my side of the story. My personal opinion is there's to many chiefs and not enough Indians.

I have been on this school since last year with my son's ADHD. Never once did they offer a 504 or an IEP. It wasn't until this year after all the picking and making fun of my son did my gf tell me about it. Once I brought it to the school attention is when they all of the sudden want to do something about it. As far as my view of the teacher he has this year she is lazy and doesn't want to go the extra mile for nothing other than a donut.

My son has been bullied since last year and I have brought it to the school attention every time. Never once did they do anything about it. Their response every time is he did this or he did that or so and so said he did this. When I ask what they did to provoke him or say to hurt his feelings they all ignore it and get offended and continue to put all the blame on my son.

The staff is amazing. The students work hard. This is a great place to learn.

I think this school is great! however I do think more parental communication would be nice. I do not feel as if I should have to reach out to the teacher to find out what my child is or is not doing in class.

My child is attending Kindergarden there. I was not happy at all due to all the negative reviews and scores. All tho I don't care for the ratio of 26 kids and there are three white children (you get my point) I really LOVED her teacher Ms. Wagner and the staff was efficient with behavior problems from others in her class, on her bus, in the hall way. It sad to say I will not be sending her there next year due to other children behaviors that I dont need my daughter around or exposed to. I dont think William Paca/ Old Post Rd Elem. is a bad school due to there staff, protocols, materials, resources. It's a bad school because the parents that send there kids there DONT CARE!!!!!
