This school is not friendly and doesn’t welcome autistic kids or other people . Be mindful when making your decision about your kids.

I have a child here and in Havre de grace middle and the comparison is insane. Bel air pushes their kids to learn and experience new things, while Havre de grace middle passes kids who literally do no work at all. Bel air holds their students to a much higher standard and you can tell if you look at the report cards from bel air compared to other schools in the county and state. And even bel airs high schoolers are testing better than the other schools locally. Its horrible to watch one child just excel in school, and my.other child who attends another school fail constantly because the school doesn't care about kids not doing their work. If Bel Air saw 50 NHI in one quarter they would be having meetings with the parents school teachers and probably reporting the situation not Havre de grace they just give the kid a 60 and pass them. The teachers at Bel air are motivating because there is no way my 11 year old son went from a C student to an A student if he wasn't enjoying it and the teachers weren't great. Anytime I have a concern I can immediately get ahold of anyone I need to including administration which at HDG.you can not. I can't say enough good things about this school it's really a huge step above the rest locally

I am now just going into 8th grade next year and they have great teachers and they all will support you even if you are trans or any LGPTQ+. They try their best but Mr. Davis 2022 is the kindest history teacher and so far the best teacher I have had ever.

The school can afford tickets to Hershey Park for all of 8th grade but they can't get a single box of tissues or printer ink. The building itself is crumbling down. One teacher said that they were afraid to turn off the air conditioning because they thought it wouldn't turn back on. None of the attempts at promoting compassion have any positive effect. The teachers are the most redeeming quality. Overall a mediocre school.

School admin sucks they lock you up for tryna get your lunch seat back. Too much homework given and some teachers only use it at busywork. The PBIS program at this school dosen't resonate with anybody. Teachers are great especially the social studies teachers.

I really like the teachers but the technology at the school is awful. The teachers are no trained and it makes it so difficult to do the work for the students.

Welcoming environment filled with teachers who really care and want each of their students to succeed!!

Our family moved to the area last year due to a military transfer from FL. Unfortunately, the educational system in FL is lacking and I found all four of my children were behind by MD standards. BAMS welcomed my middle child with open arms and provided him with the necessary support to get him where he needed to be to succeed. It's such a hard age to adjust to a new school but my son has thrived here! He's safe, happy, making lots of friends and getting an excellent eduction at BAMS!
